I think -though I could very well be wrong- that you may have miscalculated starting XP and/or starting credits somewhat, or something to that effect. Unless I am mistaken, a Wookiee begins with 90 starting XP and, like any other character, with 500 starting credits. If it is due to choosing both Obligation and Morality, I think we have to choose only one of the three (either Obligation or Duty or Morality) and use that one to derive our extra XP and/or extra credits from (with the choices being, a) +10 starting XP, or b) +2500 starting credits, or c) +5 starting XP and +1000 starting credits, or in the case of Morality only d) increase or decrease the PC’s starting Morality by 21, thus giving the PC the option of beginning with a Morality of 29 or a Morality of 71).

Thrask the Trandoshan |

Hmm, that really depends on what you are wanting to do. If you are wanting to be a talker, the three big ones are Charm, Deception, and Negotiation.
It never hurts to have at least one combat skill upgraded at least once, Ranged light is pretty versatile.
I'm a big fan of the up close and personal types myself but you wanna have good brawn/soak to even stand a chance of living in that lifestyle so I wouldn't really recommend it for a first character. (Less that's what you build for then go for it)
There are what's called universal trees out there that are worth it when you get your first dose of xp. Look at possibly picking up the recruit or staying in your own career or it eats more xp.
You were making a politico character yes? If you look at your tree, I would say best bang for your buck is to get well rounded early as possible. That talent allows you to choose two skills and make them into class skills. Pick up a combat skill and then something else you find interesting. If you are trying to stay pure to being a sauve talker who is all business, I'd suggest Knowledge Outer Rim that way you can try to talk the GM into letting you have a few advantages into going into any situation by knowing your stuff about the Core Worlds, Outer Rim, and Education.

DM ShadowBloodmoon |

Wow, you guys have been busy... Thank you all for helping each other with CharGen. That's awesome. Going to look over characters now... using the OggDude CharGen and auditing and here's what I've found.. Correct me if I'm missing anything...
Looks like we have:
Zeylud- Selonian Doctor- For some reason the CharGen is not allowing me to select the +10 Obligation option, but otherwise it looks good. I am calculating you at 2/13 Enc, but that maybe just because of the fact that I have everything set to equip or carry.
Tarkazza- Wookiee Warrior- Waiting to see edits as outlined above by helpful players..
Kutishek- Wookiee Bounty Hunter- Looks good. I have you at 7/13 Enc though. Probably same issue as with Zeylud.
Caleb Rook- Human Guardian- I think you still have 10 XP to spend somewhere. Again, I might be wrong and I think I got everything in there. I have you at spending 100/110.
Cullen- Bothan Politico- Waiting to go over after skills are finished.
Karan Sham- Togruta Seeker- Looks nice except there is an extra 5xp spent that I'm not seeing where it came from and also the blaster carbine and padded armor would put you way over the starting credits of 500..
As for the lightsaber comment, that was more of an offhand thing. As far as I'm aware, no class can actually start with one unless they are at Knight level play. I'm fine with you guys starting with the hilt to get you started making one though.
I think other than back story and Motivations/ Background choices, that's about it for characters....

F. Castor |

Let me see...
Brawn 2 -> Brawn 3: 30 XP
Agility 2 -> Agility 3: 30 XP
Willpower 2 -> Willpower 3: 30 XP
Force Sensitive Emergent (Universal Specialization): 20 XP
Enhance Force power (Basic Power): 10 XP
This makes for a total of 120 XP, which is derived from being Human (110 XP) and also choosing the +10 XP option from Morality (Compassion/Hatred).
Hope that helps. :-)
On the matter of gear, I will also grab a syntherope for 5 credits, so that should put me at 15 credits left in Caleb's pocket, as well as an Encumbrance of 3/9.
Now all that remains is the Motivation and his back story indeed, though the latter I have at least decided on.

Here is Nebten the Smuggler.
Like a good citizen, Nebten signed up to join the Imperial Navy. He quickly rose up through the ranks of the TIE Fighter pilot since many of them had the life expectancy of 1.3 missions.
Nebten's promotion transferred to a newly built space station. Nobody really knew much about it, but it was bigger then anything he had ever seen before. Nebten became good friends with Primus and Dek. Since they were pilots, a majority of their day was performing maneuvers while the station was being completed. The other part of their day was spending it at the Hard Heart Cantina drinking and trying to catch the attention of Memah the barkeep.
After a long night of ale and finally securing a dinner date with Memah, the alarm klaxons went off the next morning. Early morning. Primus hardly stirred, but Neb and Dek stumbled to their feet. They mindlessly shuffled to the refresher, taking their time since this appeared to be just another drill. Still hungover, Dek and Neb don their black vacuum suits and try to find their appropriate dock. The two functioning drunk pilots got turned around before running another tall pilot in a modified suit with a cape. He gave some orders to the two drunkard but first sentace was mumbled some sucking sound coming from the helm. All Nebten could understand was, "Come with me."
Neb and Dek look at each other, shrugged and followed the tall pilot. Once out in space, there was the reminiscence of an attack, but only a few snub fighters in the area. The tall pilot told Neb and Dek to leave the fighting to him. They obliged and coasted in formation as they repetitively descended into a trench. These snub fighters weren't too bright since they kept flying in front of the trio without maneuvering too much. With the lead pilot ordering the two of them not to fire as he takes pot shots, Neb's vision became blurry and started to doze off.
Nebten was suddenly awoke when Dek's ship exploded. Spooking him, Neb veered right, clipping the wing of the lead pilot's TIE. Nebten also mashed down on his finger triggers, firing off laser blasts into the space station's hull. Nebten flew through the fireball explosion, twisting and twirling through space. Realized what he had done to somebody of some great importance, Nebten flew away from the fight as quickly as he could. Suddenly the space station exploded into oblivion behind him. The pulse overloaded his ion engines leaving him stranded.
Two days later and after eating the remainder of his suit's rations, Nebten was discovered by a group of space jockeys that called themselves NIR. When asked what it meant, they rambled off some long string of words that Nebten didn't understand. They rescued Neb and took his TIE for payment. Now Nebten is a man stuck in the middle. Possibly wanted by the Empire for interfering with some overlord's shot but can't be trusted by the Rebels for being a former Imperial offer. Until this war dies down, Nebten will just stay on the edge as a freelance pilot. He didn't the Imperial Navy much anyways. The food sucked.

@Xynen- Got it. Looks like Karan is good to go.
@F.Castor- Got it. I had forgotten to add in the Emergent part. You're good.
@Seth86- Looks good so far. So if I have it right you took the +2500 credits from Morality and the +1000 from Obligation, right?
@Ashman- Hmm.. looking better, but when you purchase attributes, you purchase each increase separately, so Purchasing Presence to 4 costs 30xp+40xp=70xp. This of course will take away from the skills and talents you had bought. Honestly, I would leave the 3 in Presence and keep the other purchases, but of course it is your character, so it's up to you.
@Nebten- I would love to look over your sheet, but you have it locked on GDrive... I sent a request..
I am hoping to have decisions by Monday at the latest. Characters are looking great. This should turn out to be a great story!

F. Castor |

@Seth86- Looks good so far. So if I have it right you took the +2500 credits from Morality and the +1000 from Obligation, right?
I thought we were supposed to choose one from between Obligation, Duty and Morality and derive our extra starting XP and/or starting credits from that (at least going by the Character Generation info)? Or can we choose more than one and thus pick extra XP and/or credits from more than one?
Actually didnt take anything from obligation? If i can, ill get XP from obligation.
2500 from morality to put me on 3000
If I may? Double-Bladed Lightsaber Hilt 600 credits, Huntsman Vibrospear 950 credits, Bowcaster (with Weapon Sling attachment) 1350 credits and Padded Armor 500 credits. So, along with your other Gear, your belongings cost a total of 3537 credits, at least unless I have made a miscalculation somewhere along the line.
Oops. Sorry. I thought I unlocked it.
Try this link
Ah, another human! Who knew we would be so few, huh? :-P Can I ask how you got your XP to 125? I thought the options allowed for either +10 XP, or +5 XP and +1000 credits, or +2500 credits. Although Obligation is not my strong suit.

Yah, this is Age of the Rebellion times. I don't have a death wish like those who are Force users, aliens or Force Using Aliens! OMGWTFroXXoRSBBQsauce! =v)
p. 40 EotE Core Rulebook, bottom right corner
There are two limitations to this: each player can only choose each option once, and Player Characters cannot gain more additional Obligation than their original starting value.*
Part 1 is how I selected a +5 and +10 XP options since they list 4 options. There is no "Or" between choosing which Starting XP to select nor Starting Credits.
But the second part may need to be clarified by the GM.
What is are starting Obligation/Duty/Morality score? The recommendations vary by party size.
A party of 4, starting obligation is 10 where as a party of 6 it is 5.
Either way, this will probably effect my (and others maybe?) already developed characters.
* unless there is an errata I'm not aware of.

DM ShadowBloodmoon |

My apologies, let me clear something up. I had thought that you guys were inferring that you already started with lightsaber parts when I originally spoke about them. No free lightsaber stuffs. This time at least...
As for the Morality/ Obligation, in character creation should only be one. I was trying to clarify that with Seth and I think Paizo ate part of my post (or I didn't finish it, which has been known to happen). During the campaign, I plan on allowing every character to add any of the three depending on how gameplay goes.
I'm going to guess there will be 6 characters, so starting at 5 for obligation is just fine.

Compassionate and friendly, Caleb appears calm and composed and generally soft-spoken almost at all times. He seems to be quite difficult to anger and rarely if ever raises his voice, though his general humor and wit does tend to turn a little snarky when annoyed, nervous or his patience is at an end. Despite usually keeping a low profile and avoiding attracting attention, or at least too much of it, he finds it difficult or even impossible to do so always, as he is not the kind of person who will ignore another’s plea for help or leave the weak and defenseless at the mercy of thugs and bullies.
Although Sorin was a skilled warrior, well-versed in more than one form of lightsaber combat, being a practitioner of both Niman and Ataru, he generally avoided fighting, preferring to resolve conflict and confrontations through words and diplomacy rather than the use of Force or his lightsaber. That is not to say of course that he would shy away from following orders given to him by the Jedi Order that involved leading troops into battle or fighting alongside clone troopers or other Jedi, but it did result in usually going on missions of a more diplomatic and peaceful nature and thus spending less time on the front lines than some contemporaries of his, like Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker. Still, he served the Order faithfully during the Clone Wars up until their end.
During a mission on Corellia in what would come to be the last days of the war, Sorin received a signal originating from a beacon within the Jedi Temple that recalled all Jedi back to Coruscant. Heeding the call, he began preparing for his and Caleb’s departure from Corellia and return to the Temple. Still, there was something he felt to be wrong, but could not clearly sense what that was. It was enough, however, to make him ask his apprentice to remain where he was, while he would indeed return to Coruscant and investigate further. Then, he would send for Caleb to join him. This was the last time the young Jedi Padawan saw his Master.
Unbeknownst to them, the beacon had been activated by Darth Vader, Sidious’ newest apprentice, in order to lure the remaining Jedi into a trap. Although Master Kenobi managed to alter the message, it seemed to have come too late for Sorin Varran, as Caleb neither saw nor heard from his Master again. Having received the new message warning the Jedi away, the young man left Corellia and went into hiding, disposing of his lightsaber and eventually ending up on Nar Shaddaa, where he has been living ever since, the Smuggler’s Moon with its sprawling city and billions of inhabitants acting as the perfect hiding place. He has been keeping mostly to himself, having left the ways of the Jedi behind him in order to survive, though the Code and his own compassion do result in his performing relatively small acts of kindness more often than not, usually involving helping the helpless or defending those that cannot defend themselves. And all the while, he hopes against hope that he will be reunited with his old Master one day, as he never felt his death through the Force on that day everything changed, on that day an era ended and a new one began.

Fiendish Zen |

Good morning :)
Last minute entry, have beavered away to get a character ready after only seeing the recruitment thread earlier today!
Jen'dena'viathus, Chiss Sentinel (Shadow)
There's a real nice spread of characters here, it's stacking up to be a good campaign :)

F. Castor |

Well, let us see then...
Browman: Kutishek, Male Wookiee Bounty Hunter (Gadgeteer) - Obligation (Bounty)
DM Ashman: Cullen Zahn, Male Bothan Colonist (Politico) - Obligation (Favor)
F. Castor: Caleb Rook, Male Human Guardian (Protector, Force Sensitive Emergent) - Morality (Compassion/Hatred)
Fiendish Zen: Jen'dena'viathus, Female Chiss Sentinel (Shadow) - Morality (Ambition/Arrogance), Obligation (Bounty)
Nebten: Nebten, Male Human Smuggler (Scoundrel) - Obligation (Bounty)
Seth86: Tarkazza, Male Wookiee Warrior (Shii-Cho Knight) - Morality (Justice/Cruelty)
Thrask the Trandoshan: Zeylud, Male Selonian Colonist (Doctor, Scholar) - Obligation (Oath, Responsibility)
Xynen: Karan Sham, Male Togruta Seeker (Hunter) - Morality (Independence/Coldness)
Browman: I could not determine whether you have chosen from between Obligation, Duty and Morality or not, thus the question mark. Furthermore, not having chosen one of the three means that you probably have not taken the option for extra XP and/or credits. If not, then it is a good idea to do so (not to mention part of the character generation process), as that can mean a Skill or a Talent or more funds to purchase starting equipment with.
Seth86: I have put your Morality as Justice/Cruelty, because checking the book, Justice is paired with Cruelty, while it is Compassion that is paired with Hatred.
I think those should be all the characters submitted so far, unless I have missed someone. There are also a couple of others (Spazmodeus, xyrophobic) who have expressed interest, but I do not think they have posted any characters, not yet at least.

F. Castor |

Cool. See also about choosing one of the options for extra XP and/or credits that comes with choosing an Obligation and its numerical value (it appears that starting Obligation is 5, so you can raise that for extra XP or credits), as I am not sure you have done so. Hey, it could mean a Skill or a Talent or some better starting equipment. :-)

Seth86 |

Tarkazza, now with added flavour
Wasn't sure about the pairing, i figured you could choose the other side. New to this. But i did change it now. and as stated, added flavour ;)
@Browman
Want to link stories?

![]() |

Actually, PC's cannot gain more additional Obligation/Duty/Mortality* than their original starting value.
Since our starting Obligation/Duty/Mortality is 5, you can only take on 5 more obligation for a benefit.
For example, Castor's PC is 5 obligation over allowed limit and Fiendish Zen is 50 over allowed limit.
*select only one

F. Castor |

But I have chosen neither Obligation nor Duty. As a Force user, I have chosen Morality, which works a little differently, at least as far as I can tell. And I can only assume it is the same with the other characters with Force and Destiny careers.
Morality consists of an Emotional Strength and a corresponding Emotional Weakness and starts at 50. It allows the following options, of which the first three do not actually change its value.
a) +10 starting XP, or
b) +2500 starting credits, or
c) +5 starting XP and +1000 starting credits, or
d) increase or decrease the PC’s starting Morality by 21, thus giving the PC the option of beginning with a Morality of 29 (Dark Side) or a Morality of 71 (Light Side)
Morality uses a game mechanic called Conflict to sorta kinda regulate its fluctuations and is increased or decreased, I believe, after each session depending on the character's decisions and actions. And with Force dice having Light Side and Dark Side points, Morality and whether a Force-using character is considered Light Side or Dark Side have effects in the way they can use Force points and how they use Force powers (e.g Dark Side Force-users generate Force points by using Dark Side points, of which the Force die has more when compared to Light Side points, thus making it easier for him to use Force powers), even affecting the group's Destiny pool and at some point the Force-using PC's Strain Threshold (decreasing it when Morality drops too much or increasing it when Morality rises too much).

Browman |

Since Kutishek only recently, better gear doesn't really fit. But I might grab one of the 5 XP talents from gadgeteer. I will have Kutishek's backstory up later today.

Actually, it should be 3 (Brawn 2, heavy clothing +1). :-)
Also, do not forget extra XP or credits from Obligation (with starting Obligation being 5, you can increase by another 5 and choose either +5 XP or +1000 credits to add to your starting XP and credits). Also, even if you do not pick the +1000 credits option, you do start with 500 credits. Buying the gear you have listed should leave you with quite a bit of credits, not 0 (even if your comlink is the long range one; which one is it by the way, handheld or long range?).

Kutishek is fairly young for a wookiee at 115 standard years. He had lived his entire life on the hoemword of Kashyyyk until after the coming of the empire. Most of his family were killed in the fighting that end of the clone wars and the arrival of the empire brought to Kashyyyk and Kutishek was sentenced to an offworld labour camp. On route his transport was attacked by rebels including his cousin Tarkazza; he and several other wookiees escaped. Kutishek and Tarkazza fled to the outer rim to avoid a bounty that had been placed on Kutishek's head for killing the commander of the transport.

I looked over Zen's sheet and if she drops the Obligation and chooses the Morality +5xp/+1000 creds option, it looks like it should come out right.
I also updated Kutishek per the additional info.
All these are looking great guys. Thank you for helping each other out with CharGen. I know it's a tough process, especially combining three book sets. As Seth said, you make it tough on a GM to choose, and that's a good thing! That said, I should have final selections by Monday evening (CST)...

DM ShadowBloodmoon |

Okay folks, as promised, here are the choices for this campaign. They were some tough decisions, but I think this should make for a good well rounded group. While I like the idea of a mostly Force Sensitive team, I wanted to also give some screen time to the non-Sensitives as well. Thank you all for your submissions and I will put the other two as runner ups should we lose somebody in the future.
