Aman110 you should look up body tamer on these very paizo message board because there is an example of a body tamer on then. Next for my healer i was not really thinking of using a half-illithid cuz i mean wouldn't the universe break or something. I mean illithid and healer go together like razor blades and pudding or something. That said I CAN HAZ MINDBLAST. Also as a solution for the Extract situation for the back story the body tamer would have renounced brain eating as totally wrong. instead he would simply break the victims neck. For the haler I was actually thinking of a using an elf or gnome, but i don't know much abought the monk class (clearly what with not knowing abought the healing hand sub class) we should discuss this more maybe assign me some reading.


I did some brain searching ha ha illithid pun and though your right a monk body tamer makes sense also gonna read up on monk stuff from pathfinder to see how difficult this would be to make.

So yeah um monk of the healing hand is in the apg and basic monk stuff is in the core book and whats a hexa? haha idk ill haveta look that up but anyway im actually fine with an ilithid healer but if ur not i guess ur right that doesnt really make sense haha so yeah im all for either but it would be cool to have a half ilithid and if you do i would suggest a half elf as a base race. the only downfall is you would kinda really totally obviously stick out in a small coastal human town. but yeah that sounds good you just walk up and snap some neck with ur tenticles... and yeah mindblast haha itd probably be like 3/day but its cool. yeah we can totally start making that if you want roll stats and tell me if you got questions. best part NO SPELLS!!! haha


Hexa just means 6 and as for the monk I'll read through all the pathfinder stuff. The 6 welding would only be possible with greater dexterity of tentacles that plus reach mean i can do trip attacks at like 10 ft, but i need to check that. (Also i was wrong weapons factor into a whirlwind strike so that wouldn't get messed up by holding tentacles weapons).

oh ok yeah that would be super crazy... maybe at higher lvls we can discuss it more but for now just do ur basic monk own stuff.


yeh that was kinda what i thought, plus holding stuff in my tentacles would mess up grappling and tripping so that a definite on the just a monk for now. Thanks for the help and stuff.

Back story you say, well then here goes. Calithun as he is now known was captured by an evil sorcerer before he was a half-illithid,the sorcerer sought a powerful and truly winked minion so he using Calithun and an illithid tadpole he created Calithun in his current form. For a relativity short period Calithun served to sorcerer but soon grew in power and plotted to devourer the sorcerers brain . He soon undertook his plan but with a hitch after consuming the sorcerers brain he learned of the evils of his people and the tamer code. After this action he sought to wright the wrongs of his culture and heritage through this creed seeking to repress what he is through abstinence of his psionic powers, and by swearing off the consumption of any sentient brain. After fleeing the sorcerers evil keep Calithun was discovered by a group of priests who trained him in there arts (after determining he was now reformed of his evil ways). he then proceeded to seek out evil in an attempt to make up for the wrongs of his species past. He wondered from place to place and although usually feared and in some places blamed for heinous crimes he still followed a single minded goal to root out evil in its many forms. his wondering soon brought him to Basinville where he hide away in the darkest and deepest reaches of the slums and sewers trying to do good while maintaining some level of anonymity in order to keep from being chased out of another town.

I may make him somewhat more neutral but you get the jest for now. ( Evil sorcerer, good monks, dislikes vileness heritage wants redemption through self sacrifice and tamer code.)
P.S. Also the pathway towards enlightenment followed by monks.

hey Ilix will you copy paste that to the gameplay page? srry i should have said to put it there in the first place. Its really cool though. i like it. and u got the actual character done yet?


no that's a bit harder but looking over the monk stuff the whole tamer monk gos together like peas and carrot they actually have very similar feats. Back to how the character is going I could use some face to face help as its been very difficult to find stuff on Half-illithids or body tamers I think i have enough to do it though. Also are we meeting tomorrow for DnD.

what other stuff do you need for ur character? u just use the pluses of ur base character (half elf dwarf whatever) and then add a plus 2 to ur wisdom as well... and then do a monk as normal just add ur tenticle attacks and mind blast at the end.


this is true but the half-illithid is from 3.5 so i just wanted some approval on what i should do. Also different sources give different bonuses. If that's not a problem then I'll use a half-elf as a base but i am open to suggestion on that. Forgotten Realms has a pretty easy to use half-illithid plan that's pretty much what i was going to use, with some modification. ( They just give you a plus 4 across the board basically which is relay ridicules if you ask me).

ok so im talking to kevin and he says to just play an ilithid but u can just do this add 4 to ur wisdom and 2 to ur str or dex... pretty much disregard the books cuz its pbp so its really only the story that is important...

That's fine I was just using internet stuff to get the rough Idea any way. Still probably gonna stick with my half-illithid cuz i have the whole story and you just build off a base race, but if you want me to change that's totally fine. I mean is your game and a very experienced player told you full illithid would be better then tats totally cool.

Ok cool I wouldn't mind a little direction as to what base race and ether you or Krush could look over my info which I will bring tomorrow. As of now still going with half-elf but I will look over all the other race and begin constructing Calithun in earnest.

Ha ha that would be funny but he hates his illithid heritage so that seems sort of inappropriate. I ' been thinking abought the healing hand monk and just think abought it if you can heal with a free hand then theirs a good chance I got you covered.

yeah you can heal with a free hand but it takes two ki points to heal and you cant do that till 7th level make your heal skill as good as you can and then you will be able to assist in healing and keeping people from death.

hers the basics of the system

1) Whoever's online rolls initiatives for everyone. Initiative is normally a 'no-choice' roll, so it doesn't matter who does it. The DM makes one roll for all the creatures under his control, taking the average of their initiative modifiers. (E.g. if he has 4 critters with +4 initiative and 2 critters with +1 initiative he makes one roll at +3.) Determine initiative order.
2) All the players who go before the DM take their turn, in whatever order.
3) The DM takes his turn.
4) All the players take their turn, in whatever order.
5) Return to step 3) and repeat.

ok so that sounds good to me Ilix i was actually thinking of that kinda but that is good about the average initiative... that how it will happen. in the mean time if anyone reads this post your perception, survive, or knowledge (local) check to see if you can find the band of goblins to begin. srry i wasnt on sooner Ilix.
