We mean no offense to you and your ways. As i said we are strangers to this land and like yourself have our own beliefs and systems. not all of this group are as conscious of what they say as I and some others are. but they mean no offense or derision of any kind. We wish you all the best in your endeavors to free your selves from this forests hold. but we must continue on our own journey. She moves again slowly to reach as near the exit as she can in the short period of time.
Human on Team Human |
I placed Merk next to Talon as he stepped in front of Hagrid. Kalthos took up a flanking postion on Merk.
Seltyn was near Talon so that is fine.
Amys followed Telethal, and he had his hand on Mar's shoulder. They wouldn't all crowd into a tiny space, so they are on the bottom.
I would assume those going out first would enter the antechamber first, but that is not a requirement.
If everyone is happy with their placement, let me know. Then a rough plan to exit the cave. What order, where will those waiting to crawl stand (squeezing through a foot is not fast), etc. GM Post tonight if the plan is in order.
Seltyn Sevenleaf |
I have one. It's not big enough to get many of them, though. I was thinking of saving it in case they follow us. Entangle would work better outside. Mar's hurt, and we're low on spells and healing. I don't think we should take them on right now.
Seltyn Sevenleaf |
MAP I moved Seltyn to watch as everyone goes out. He'll color spray if they try anything.
Mar, Kalthos, Elorin, Talon, Seltyn, and Telethal last.
Chainmail |
Cave is roughly 10' high. Merk follows Seltyn closely. From his comments earlier, you know he has figured out that you are a caster.
From earlier comments you know representatives of the Coastal Kingdom have spread unfavorable information about elves.
Also Elorin noticed some of the less diplomatic in the group extremely offended Hagrid.
Seltyn Sevenleaf |
Out we go! Mar first, then Kalthos, Talon, Elorin, me, then Telethal, watching our backs.
Seltyn will stand where I put him, ready to cast if needed. He can cast enlarge, or something else, depending. He's got armor up, and full hp, so he's not in too bad a shape. Telethal can be the last one out.
I put us tentatively going out, but didn't erase anyone's position if they have a different idea.
Telethal the Halfblood |
I'm assuming this will become immediately necessary:
Initiative 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16.
---> damage 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
.
Spear AoO #2 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13
---> damage 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
.
Spear AoO #3 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
---> damage 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
Talon Moonwalker |
Aye, Talon will take a full round action to do nothing but withdraw from the cave. After that it will be a case of rapid shooting and withdrawing as best as we can. Due to favoured enemy bonuses and the like, I am at about +7 to hit at the moment if firing a single round, or +5 if rapid shooting, although those numbers can be increased by 1 if Elorin is buffing us with her bardic performance. Also, because these humans are a favoured enamy, my damamge goes up by 2 points to 1d8+3 with the bow, or 1d6+2 non lethal with the sap so life is comfortable. Might have to use that Cure Light Wounds of mine though just to stay standing, although that leaves us weak for later on.
Talon Moonwalker |
Aye, if the combat begins it will be because they started it, although I think it might be an idea for all of us to have readied actions for the first human to make an aggressive move. I know Talon will as soon as he gets out of the cave. Just wish we were 3rd level cause then I could take a favoured terrain and get even better numbers and another feat of some kind.
Seltyn Sevenleaf |
I've got OK AC right now, and enough hit points to take a hit as long as they don't crit. I'll take a withdraw after everyone else but Telethal is through.
Unless they start attacking, we withdraw and go through in order. Readying an action to cast on the defensive if anyone attacks.
Line up and crawl through! Mar, Kalthos, Talon, Elorin, Me, and Telethal last.

Mar 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11
Seltlyn 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Talon 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19
Elorin 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13
Telethal 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Kalthos 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19
Humans
Merk 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
Xbow 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
Lbow 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13
Hagrid 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12
Amys 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 1 = 21
Rovagug Temple Guardian 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (9) - 1 = 8
As both parties are aware--initiative decides. Everyone does not have a readied action to attack someone.
Amys reacts first and does ready an action to do violence with her greataxe to the object of her unrequited love, Telethal (no circumstance bonus for this).
Talon and Kalthos go next with Kalthos crawling out of the crawlspace and Talon crawling into the crawlspace. Talon experiences a claustrophobes nightmare as a creature of earth tries to block the crawlspace and grab him with arms of dirt and mud forcing 'fingers of dirt and mud into his nose and mouth'. Talon gets a perception roll to try to notice this obviously hard to spot ambush. After the attack Kalthos and Talon will act.
Marlamin |
On his turn, Mar's gonna get out as fast as possible, clearing the way for others, using a full turn if necessary.
Mar could hear behind him as Talon yelled out about a creature in the crawlspace. Hesitating only a second, he continued out of the cave, spurred on by a rising fear of whatever magic they were using.
Chainmail |
The primal earth creature attempts to grapple Talon and he is shocked but his ranger training kicks in as he tries to defend (full CMB).
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17
Talon almost avoids the arms as the mud and solid clods hold him in the crawlspace. He sees two burning eyes and feels his arms pinned to his sides and is unable to speak as dirt seems to cover his mouth.
Kalthos can scurry out for a move action or reverse himself in the crawlspace and draw a light weapon as a full round action.
Kalthos Pennas |
Kal clambors out of the crawlspace as quickly as possible and draws his rapier
Hey guys, I'm sorry, I dont know how often I'll be able to post in the next few days, I'm moving to the netherlands for a study abroad program! I'll post again as soon as I can, Seltyn is welcome to take control of Kal

OK. He'll also take a quick look around outside, hoping to find no new threats to deal with.
perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14Chainmail |
Talon is out of the grapple and scrambles halfway out of the crawlspace (he is still engages with the guardian). Kalthos hears a large animal rushing through the woods to help, probably Ingwe. The longbowman raises his bow but seems to be waiting to act.
Elorin hears Talon escape an abomination of earth and dirt in the crawlspace. It will be difficult to escape past this creature now.
Human on Team Human |
Hagrid speaks in her native tongue and the youngers act.
Amys rages and takes a shot at Telethal with a huge axe "To good for me." 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 101d12 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16
The crossbowman takes a shot into the fight at Telethal 1d20 + 6 - 4 ⇒ (11) + 6 - 4 = 131d10 + 1d6 ⇒ (9) + (3) = 12
Hagrid casts a spell DC14 Will save versus fear when both shots miss Telethal.
The young man with the longbow knocks his arrow and waits "Surrender or die. The temple guardian is on our side."
Marlamin |
Mar hears the commotion coming from the cave. Kalthos and Mar face the entrance, and Mar sees Kalthos pull his bow. From somewhere in his head, he feels the urge to look over his shoulder and sees Ingwe emerging from between the trees, moving at a run. Overjoyed, and somewhat confused, he yells the leopard's name.
He pulls his sword and shield, peering inside the cave to see if he can find Talon while waiting for his companion to arrive.
Talon Moonwalker |
So I was unable to scramble out of the tunnel and into the jungle then? Fair enough. Bow, rapid shot and point blank shot as well as favoured enemy. Means I am at Base attack +1 for point blank shot, +2 for favoured enemy, +1 for bardic buffing and -2 for rapid shot. So attacking with 2 arrows at plus 6, and doing 1d8+3 damage. Fun fun fun. Or I am at about the same with the sap, although that is non lethal damage only
Chainmail |
Marlamin can pull you out of the crawlway on his turn if he makes a simple unarmed melee touch vs AC10. (d20 roll of 5 or higher) if that is what he wants to do.
AoO Elorin/damage/Concentration 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 171d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 51d20 ⇒ 15
Hagrid takes 5 but still gets off the spell. I assume Elorin has the club out and ready.
