Wreck wades into the morlocks. These seem to be considerably tougher than the last time this team fought them. The first one hit survives (barely), but the second one succumbs to a massive swing. The shark takes a massive hit from the fighter. Ichor oozes onto Wreck's weapon REF: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (19) + 9 = 28, and the fighter manages to pull his weapon free before it suffers damage. The beast roars in pain, turning it's attention to Wreck. Finally the half-orc suffers again from the poison DON DMG: 1d3 ⇒ 3.
The massive shark, nearly dead on its feet fights for its life by going after Wreck:
Bite: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (13) + 19 = 32 DMG: 2d6 + 13 ⇒ (4, 1) + 13 = 18
Claw 1: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (10) + 19 = 29 DMG: 1d8 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16
Claw 2: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (16) + 19 = 35 DMG: 1d8 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15
Three morlocks hoot and holler and try to gang up on Wreck:
Club 1: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20
Bite 1: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15

Club 3: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25

But those morlocks have no effect. Meanwhile a quartet of morlocks advance on Alan, hoping to stay close to the beast Morlock #1 here draws from Omrax

Meanwhile the dwarf himself lays a good shot into the nearest morlock. Which morlock? You're close to a few, and could likely kill off the one Wreck hit.

"Sir Wreck, I have nothing to aid you from the poison, but if you finish those foul creatures, step closer and I will try to heal your wounds.
He then calls a second smite upon the other shark.

Alan goes death blossom on the flurry of attacks that come his way. His first shot colapses the throat of a morlock. From there death continues to ensue. Only the last morlock remains up. Meanwhile as Omrax tends to wounds and the others (feel free to do whatever you'd like)...
The force of morlocks approaches. A hulking morlock separates
himself from his kin. Speaking in a broken cadence, he stammers, “Surface dwellers, me friend. Much going on and time short. Follow me; I take you to Karn.” As he struggles with an unfamiliar language the large morlock emphasizes his point by shaking a familiar object: a wayfinder. With surprising speed he shuffles on all fours and begins to scamper off, after 10 feet, the morlock stops and swivels back pleading, “Hurries, hurries, hurries!”
Galdur XXI |
"What more can we do for Wreck's condition?" Galdur asks. He offers a wand that will help the others heal. He tries to collect a sample of the unique creature's skin. Then he orders the elemental to follow the Morlock.
As they follow he asks, "What can you tell us of Karn and how he knew we were here?" As they continue he also asks what he can about the black obelisks.

He looks at his companions, he did not want to cause trouble for them, even if these look like the ones that tried to kill them the first time he saw them
Galdur XXI |
"Yes Wreck, these people seem to be friends of the man we seek. Perhaps our guide couls elaborate what distinguishes him from the other Morlocks we have encountered?" Galdur asks the question to the guide after introducing himself. "I am Galdur master ring smith and seeker of secrets and currently also of allies."
Dungeon Master S |
"“Me smart, me learn your words from your friend!” He shakes his necklace at you, "No choice. Trust or no trust— we need each other. If help me, give you shiny necklace. We different! We not like bad ones. You have good and bad people too, yes?"
After traveling for what seems like a mile or more over the shattered remains of Rachikan, you and Bogipfen arrive about 100 feet away from an intact, rectangular building that rises above the neighboring, ruined structures. It’s a three-story building, but now only its top-most level remains above ground.
Bogipfen motions for silence and quietly explains, “Cage is inside. Karn inside cage. Lots of bad people. Wings and blades. Bad people.”
Galdur XXI |
"We are to help you free Karn? What is the shiny necklace for? Can you tell us more of this cage?"
I know we made our sense motive checks, but is there more to go on?
To his companions Galdur offers flight to Omrax or Wreck. "Wings, he says,". The elemental should still be around, but I'll spend a minute to call Shuler de if not. Keep an eye out for a golem master. The dwarf this his head in thought.
"Bogipfen? Are there any of the stone people, we call them golems, inside?"
Dungeon Master S |
No one gets any hunches of dishonestly from the morlock.
"Yes free my nice friend. She give me this necklace. Let's me speeeeeak your tongue. She's in bad sorts. No stone men. Not inside. Just women with wings."
Omrax the Bold |
Omrax will let Galdur continue to talk with the Morlock.
"Let us prepare then. Sir Wreck, are you recovered? Women with wings sounds suspicious. We shall free Karn . "
