The spirits of both Zellara and Venster look down at Sandor, both hopeful and despairing at the same time. When the Fighting Dwarf draws from the deck, his third card is:
The card instantly hopes away, vanishing into motes of light. The remaining deck fans out before you, and three cards push themselves forward. A voice whispers into Sandor's ear "Zero, one, two, or three?"

The Drawing of the Three! Oh man. Morkeleb receives a +1 insight bonus on his next initiative roll!

The spirits of both Zellara and Venster look down at Odric, both hopeful and despairing at the same time. When the Fighting Man draws from the deck, his final card is:
BLANK?!
At first it seems as if nothing happens, but then the spirits confer. It is Venster who speaks. The Harrow has yielded to the Fates. You are given a unique opportunity. You may be at peace and be one with a neutral draw, OR you may continue to draw...
Thorgrym the Tracker |
Grym having drawn two cards after one was announced is unable to use a Harrow Point on the first draw. He draws two:
His right hand grabs a card under the pair of ghosts. He draws forth:
The Mute Hag
Instantly, Grym is struck EITHER blind, deaf, or mute... The choice is yours. The effects of this card, both mechanical and visual depend upon the following. Grym must make a perception check AND roll 9d55
The ranger will be forever mute...
sorry, not sure why I posted that w/ the double draw, hope it didn't overly complicate things on your end, but lets roll with it.

I'm going to rule that this does not affect his communication with Bucho.
Dungeon Master S |
As in you must now choose to be done, or get a new card heretofore undrawn by Odric. (cards get put back in the deck, but cards can max out. There is some conditional logic here, so I need your answer before Grym, but it doesn't matter if you answer before Sandor
Dungeon Master S |
Grym watches as The CARNIVAL! explodes into a million colors.
A series of NINE cards parade around the mute ranger. They spin and turn. His quick eyes catch them all:
The Big Sky
The Dance
The Courtesan This version LOOKS different. This version actually shows Serithtial in hand instead of a mask.
The Lost
The Locksmith
The Sickness
The Queen Mother
The Tyrant
The Keep
In a flash the cards turn to face down and scramble themselves... but still Grym can track them.
The 9 cards are arrayed before the Mute Ranger... Desna, however, smiles, because he tracked the card he wanted, and the one he wanted was....

Sandor too tempts Fate. The cards about him whirl with ever increasing speed. The cricket hops about his head...
First is The Mute Hag
Sandor's muscles twitch. Sandor's base speed is increased by 10'
CHOOSE: Blind, Deaf, or Mute.
Second is The Owl
Sandor's muscles twitch even more. Sandor's base speed is AGAIN increased by 10'
For 1 minute, once, you may scry upon any mortal in the multiverse, but they will instantaneously know.
Third is The Peacock
Sandor's muscles twitch. Sandor's base speed is YET AGAIN increased by 10'
Sandor's scarred flesh turns slate grey. The rest of his body begins to turn to stone unlike any he's ever seen, unlike any his dwarven blood can ken. It turns to an array of stone textures, like an amalgam of Golarion itself. Sandor gains +2 Natural Armor, and his dexterity score is reduced by 2.
Sandor Stouthammer |
Wow wicked I love it....... mostly
The three cards spinning about his head alter their orbit one by one. The first punishes Sandor for his greed. A lick of flame comes out, and scars the dwarf yet again. This time the flames wreck his jawline. Through the familiar agony of the flames this time he inhales slightly the flames enter his mouth and just as the scream starts, his vocal cords are burnt and no sound comes out. Then just as quickly the flames disappear, the card resuming its orbit.
The next cards orbit tightens each of you can see an ephemeral glow around the dwarf's head that resembles an owl. It sinks down the large wise eyes blending with his head.
The final card gets it chance turning his flesh to stone.
Looks like the two rangers in the party are now mute. Time to learn sign language.
Sandor's 4th and final draw: 1d55 ⇒ 49
Probably won't be able to respond till after midnight tonight since I do my second job this evening

Instantly the blade in his hand hardens, and it sends shockwaves up Grym's arm.
Grym can now, once per day as an immediate action gain a +10 on his CMD so long asSerithtial is in hand.

Ahhh sheisse
Let's go for it. I couldn't very well make fun of Mork then not draw.
But can I wait for Morkeleb to go?
The card comes out of the deck, even though Odric hesitates:
Final Draw: 1d55 ⇒ 48
Of it's own accord:
emerges. It seems nothing happened at all... though Odric's face saddens.

This doesn't bode well. An evil twin?

I should be so lucky.

Sandor, eschewing the opportunity of the Blank card reveals his last draw, and a weal it is.
Sandor immediately gains enough experience to exactly level him up.

Morkeleb watches as the Marriage card dissolves into water, water which grows in size until it is the size of a large humanoid. In moments it becomes a powerful giant with hairless blue-green skin, deep blue eyes, flamboyant eyebrows, and pearlescent teeth. She is intense and beautiful "Greetings beloved. I am Alwa, your bride. There is much work to do, and I shall see you in seven days time. Then we can work on producing an heir."
Morkeleb takes the news in stride and draws his second pick:
Henceforth all of Morkeleb's threats automatically confirm.
Morkeleb preempted me. The last card drawn by the party is a draw of 1d56. Final Card: 1d56 ⇒ 21
The ghostly spirits begin to fade as the final card is drawn. Behold, the
Nothing seems to happen... The deck fades away moments later. You all feel drunk for a few moments before you regain your senses.
Dungeon Master S |
There is MUCH to digest here. Figure out what you want to do now and execute.
Ferox Kerr |
Wow, two marriages. It looks like you don't have that much time to prepare, Mork. She's... impressive. We need to have a bachelor's party for you quick! Maybe his Highness-ness over there can provide the booze. Gaius should be able to provide the entertainment. One week. That should be enough time to kill Ileosa and then party hardy!
Morkeleb the Mighty |
Yes. Yes I saw that. Nothing like autocritting with your fancy wizard stick.
Don't even think about sitting in my chair bro. I totally called dibs.
I know you saw that. i was just tweaking your nose. (payback from Ali to Vojtek???)
I'll start using more spells requiring hit rolls now.
Morkeleb the Mighty |
Morkeleb... I need to get a message to Cressida immediately. Do you have a magical means to send her a message?
Yes. I have a Sending spell prepared. Formulate a 25 word message--or 23 if you must preface it with "from Gaius," because she will know I am speaking to her.
Odric the Stout |
As soon as Gaius and Morkeleb are finished his message to Croft, "Gents, nothing has really changed from before the deck... we have the option of clearing the castle, or taking a break to do some shopping and eat dinner."
Odric rubs his chiseled abs as though they were still a heaving globular mass of fatty tissue.
"I'm hungry, but let's clean this plate before moving to the next course."
Thorgrym the Tracker |
Grym starts to speak...
Then he suddenly realizes this being mute might be more of a pain in the neck than he originally thought. Bucho bumps into his leg and the ranger ruffles his ears for a moment. At least communicating w/ Bucho wont be an issue. For stealth reasons all his commands for the dog are hand signs anyway.
For the moment they can keep things simple enough. One of his comrades can just ask him yes/no questions.
But Grym would keep this problem in the back of his to come up w/ a solution. At least every so often he will need to communicate a bit.
Thorgrym the Tracker |
"Grym do you want to continue ton clear the castle?"
(Wait for a response)
Odric hands the Ranger a piece of Chalk and points to the stone wall, "Just write what you want to say there my friend."
Grym ignores the chalk. Serethial out, he slashes "yes" into the stone aka Zoro style
Dungeon Master S |
Negative.
Mute, however, doesn't prevent telepathic communication magically, and Bucho can still bark.
Also, Ferox has a telepathic cohort now. (you also have a Wish available that CAN undo this card.)
