Larissa Brightfoot |
Believe me, I understand. I was not worried either way.
This seems to be a good time to try a new trick - Energy Body!
With visible effort, Larissa's form changes. Still vaguely shaped like the young woman she is, she seems to be made up of golden-white flames when the transformation is complete. Once her change is complete, she moves to I11.
A summary of the ability, details in the spoiler below: It doesn't appear that this action provokes an attack of opportunity. Her form increases the light levels by one step within 10' of her location, up to normal light. Any undead creature striking her with a natural attack or a handheld weapon deals normal damage to her, but also takes 1d6 + 2 points of positive energy damage. Similarly, she can deal this damage to undead with a natural weapon in place of the normal damage for the attack in question.
If you grapple or attack an undead creature using unarmed strikes or natural weapons, you may deal this damage in place of the normal damage for the attack. Once per round, if you pass through a living allied creature’s square or the ally passes through your square, it heals 1d6 hit points + 1 per oracle level. You may use this ability to heal yourself as a move action. You choose whether or not to heal a creature when it passes through your space. You may return to your normal form as a free action. You may remain in energy body form for a number of rounds per day equal to your oracle level.
Lady Alinya Gurov |
10 HP remaining. Will save: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
Alinya screws her face up in disgust as the ectoplasmic slime splashes across her glasses, then takes a determined breath. Quick triage, who's hurt? Umm everyone! But not too badly. Also Larissa is, like, totally awesome! OK, let's help the fighters.
"Pharasma's blessing on our blades." Cast bless. +1 attack for all.
Hmm. I wonder what these things are. Ghosts of some sort, but what.... Kn(Religion): 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (5) + 11 = 16.
Edwin Drood |
"Fascinating. NOT a true fully-ethereal spectre, or 'ghost', A full-torso apparition. Semi-corporeal,... They slimed you,..." Edwin peers at the goop on Myron, and grins.
"Of course! Their ectoplasmic bodies absorb the trauma of blunt-force weapons. But a cutting implement pierces the containment vessel, allowing the ectoplasm to be liberated, and dispelling the apparition!"
Edwin rolls his eyes at his companions response, or noted lack of.
"Use your blades! They don't smash, but they can be cut fairly easily!" He recaps.
Dr. Nigel Erebus |
Nigel will 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
Azulzu: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
Despite the ectoplasmic sliming, Nigel and Azulzu manage to regain their composure
"At them Azulzu!" On M12
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 131d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 251d4 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 41d4 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 51d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 91d6 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Crit confirm: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 91d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Azulzu's pointy teeth take a bite outta slime ..
Meanwhile, Nigel summons his faithful celestial hound
"Fidelus! Aid me!"
Larissa Brightfoot |
At the end of Larissa's last turn, she moved to I11. Unless she can't, of course.
The 'flaming' Larissa lashes out with her claws at the ectoplasmic apparition in J11. In the unlikely event that her first claw destroys the creature, she will turn to claw the creature in H11 with the second attack.
Attack #1 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14, which includes a flanking bonus for attacks against J11
Damage #1 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8, which does not include her bonus to melee damage, so if it applies here, that's another +1
Attack #2 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18, which includes a flanking bonus for attacks against J11
Damage #2 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6, with the same question on damage bonus as above
dungeonmaster heathy |
Edwin Drood wrote:Nothing too interesting,....Edwin gratefully hides behind the bulk of the summoned Alzuzu. With no target in immediate range of his blade, he settles into a guard position, and observes,...
Per: 1d20+8
You can attack the one "in the door" at O10; he's clawing and biting Myron.

I reckon the damage bonus applies,.....
and she drops both of them.
Castiel of Fangwood |
Castiel grits his teeth as the ecto-shank finds a gap in his plate armour, before returning the attack, slicing at the long dead prisoner with his longsword.
Attacking the one in L10, flanking with Rholf I think. 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15 Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

"Ah-HAH!" Edwin cries, leaning out from behind Alzuzu and slicing at the apparition threatening Myron.
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 151d6 ⇒ 1
"Hm. Not as good an opening as I had first believed." He mutters apologetically to Myron.
Larissa Brightfoot |
In a voice that crackles with energy and yet still sounds like Larissa, you hear, "If you are wounded, come to me. I can help one or two."
When she is in this form, she can heal someone that she shares a space with once per round - either she needs to move through an ally's square or they need to move through hers.

"Hm. Not as good an opening as I had first believed." He mutters apologetically to Myron.
Well, he did hit this time...
dungeonmaster heathy |
"Ugh! That stung a bit." Undeterred, Myron slashes at the ectoid that wounded him.
Attack roll 12+3+1(bless)=AC 16, damage 9+1+1(bless)=11.
And Myron hacks it out of the wall. For the briefest of moments, he can see through the ecto man into the room beyond; it's full of shelves piled with stuff. And chests.
Dr. Nigel Erebus |
Nigel points to the ectoplasmic horror hear him J9
"Fidelus! Attack!"
The celestial Boston Terrier growls and leaps, golden sparkle dust jetting from his nethers
Bite/trip attempt: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 111d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 41d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
Meanwhile, Azulzu lumbers over to the nearest foe K11?
