Myri approaches Kalimac, she seems a trifle embarrassed.
[smaller]Um, Sir Kalimac, I um, ... ... anyway, this might be an option, but um, it's not really a folktale, kinda a lo...um, anyway...and nothing to do with the current uh...subtle innuendo that seems to be going on and...uh, ... anyway, thought I'd run it through you, since you'd be performing it and um I um, took off her last name, cause I don't think we want to be advertising that right now, but...

I wrote this song about an hour before I had massive

dis is a story about the day I died.
out riding Attatoq and buried behind enemy lines.
tumbled into a crevasse the snow was piling high,
I could never face Shalelu, I'd eat humble pie
I was deaf ear, I neva like listen.
Now I stay in Fungdark's wagon, in critical condition.
My friend Liothonae came in and said, "Waste time I
came, I taught you was dead."
I said, "Liothonae do one favor for me, give my aloha
to the people you see.
...and especially, tell Ameiko of Sandpoint I love
her (I love her), tell Ameiko of Sandpoint I need her, tell
Lady Ameiko no go cry...and no go out wit Hrunndalf
fo' night (Hrunndalf fo night).
tell Sandru Vhiski I'm sorry (I'm sorry) I dinged his
caravan but no worry, I get scroll of mending
underneath my bed...and he can have em, when I'm
dead. (when I'm dead)
The Crown of the World was unreal, 90 below zero and
sparkled like the morning sun through Waterford crystals.
I look up, and the avalanche comming at me was so
big, I knew my eggs was headin for that big omellete
in da sky.
as I was chokin underneath the frozen water I could
tink of only one ting....air..and then her, my honey,
Lady Ameiko, head bartender at the Rusty Dragon in
Varisia..
and under the torrent of merciless powder, I called
out to her...Ameiko, Layd Ameiko, I looove yoouuuu.
boom, boom, boom, boom

"All mine are still the same," he replies in the same language, motioning with his head towards the line of smiling men and women in the hallway outside his door. "I'll start letting some of the others know, too."
"Thanks." Lio says softly in Halfling. She seeks out Shae's hand, before they continue to inform the others.

GOZRAN 29 - Prior to the Feast of the Ancients
In the evening, as people begin to trickle in, returning from various ventures around and about, Ameiko gathers the Caravan together prior to that night's feast.
"Niisiis, ükskõik teil õnnestub leida midagi poliitilise olukorra Minkai?" she asks. "Mul õnnestus teha mõned paludes umbes täna hommikul, kuid ma püüdsin hoida seda peent koos ... saatjaskond rippus ümber."
Halfling:"So, any of you manage to find out anything about the political situation in Minkai? I managed to do some asking around this morning, but I was trying to keep it subtle with the ... entourage hanging around."
should I make a Diplomacy roll?: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (3) + 13 = 16 or do you want specific questions, like: "Um, so what are the largest populated areas of Tian Xia? What are they like? Is there any place we should definitely go to see? Why? Anything we need to remember not to do?" etc, etc

At some point, once everyone has been warned that was around, when Lio and Shae go into the city.
|It would please me if we could go to a bakery that sells bread, pastries, and cakes. Would one of you be able to show us to a good one?|
Lio says quietly to Shae, as they walk, in Halfling"Did... you want... since we're in a big town now,... to uhm... go on our date, and have me..." She blushes, "Spank you late in the evening, afterwards?" A pause, "I suppose, we'd have to have a late night date, after the feast... or we could dress each other up, and go dressed to the feast and then head to a desert date after."

Myriana Bayden |

Kyrademon, does Shae's Birthday fall on the night of the Dragon feast?
Lio seeks out Myri, when Shae isn't nearby. "Since Shae's birthday is soon, the 1st of Desnus is only a few days away... is... there anything you normally do? A family tradition?"
Kyra, please let me know if you had something different in mind.
"Not really, I mean, when Shae visited we'd um, eat together...and when I found out about her birthday, and if there was enough time, I'd make something like a haku lei, but she'd often be passing through without a whole lot of notice and um...I didn't really often have something prepared in advance." Myri expression is decidedly guilty. "I mean, she never really made that big a deal out of it, I guess."

Myriana Bayden |

She dextrously picks up various bits of food with the chopsticks and offers them to Myriana.
(Offers them rather ... pointedly, some of you suspect, with the Prince right there on Myriana's other side.)
...which Myriana accepts with something of a conspiratorial smile...while faced away from the Prince, of course.

Myri grins widely, "Of course, feel free. I think cake and bonfires are a great idea." Myri licks her lips. re: birthday, please see earlier post, which you're probably already read, but I'm still catching up.

Myriana Bayden |

Alaric is silent, looking from Lio to Kalimac to Mel. More statement than question: "You guys aren't big on irony, are you?"
"Ironing? Know, never really saw the point, but I guess that might be something 'meiko might get on me about at some point." Myri says, completely serious.

If you want them of the same quality, then yes.
plushie goblin and or frog - price please
Goblin probably not available (they are relatively unknown in Tian Xia), although hobgoblin would be (they are common). Call it a silver piece for a nice one, double the price for every jump up in quality from "nice".
baby blanket with embroidered goblin or frog - price please
5 silver pieces for a nice one, same comments as above in terms of increasing the quality and/or goblins.

|At once, Milady!| a cheerful girl says, and you are taken to a bakery offering a large assortment of Tian breads and pastries.
"That sounds like a very good plan," Shalelu replies in the same language. "And I rather like the idea of going dressed up to one of the feasts and going out after. And being spanked after that. For I have been naughty. Perhaps the Feast of Fire?"
As you and Shalelu talk, one of the blue-skinned people approaches you. He maintains a respectful distance and does not interrupt you, waiting until you are done with your conversation and acknowledge him, but he clearly wishes to talk.

Most of the rather vague questions you ask receive unhelpful answers. But after a few hours of asking, you do learn the following:
An ancient place called the Forest of Spirits lies between Hongal and Minkai. The forest is known to be haunted, so the road to Minkai, called the Spirit Road, skirts the forest to the south and west. Loyal samurai of Minkai's Jade Regent patrol the Spirit Road in great numbers to keep it open and safe.

I would prefer that you did, although you can specifically ask an NPC to do so instead if you would prefer. Jorun is still quite shy, so may not be the best choice for such a task, however, if you wish to ask and NPC to do it.

Hrunndalf Jarlsson |

Hrunndalf offers Sandru to act as a frontman for the selling of trade items. You know, just in case Sandru's reputation should have preceded him.
He also spends a lot of coins on several magical items of clothing and veritable bundle of wands. He informs the party healers that he now holds a wand of Lesser Restoration and more than just an emergency supply of Cure Minor Wounds.

Kyrademon |

Hrunndalf offers Sandru to act as a frontman for the selling of trade items. You know, just in case Sandru's reputation should have preceded him.
"You're welcome to sell some trade goods if you want to, Hrunndalf," Sandru says rather flatly.
Hrunndalf's Resolve Check to sell trade goods: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (19) + 16 = 35
Hrunndalf has sold a unit of Trade Goods for 350 gp. As a reminder, he cannot make more sales of this kind in Ordu-Aganhei.
I will do a split of the cash soon, when a few more have been sold or there are more items to distribute.

Rhost Mab-i-gof |

Just so that it is clear, at this point I am waiting for either the story Lio suggested to be adopted as the one being used, or for an alternative to be proposed and adopted if it is not. Once a majority of the party has weighed in on the issue, I will move forward.
Rhost nods in approval of Liothonae's story suggestion. The wind is a sound effect he can do.

At some point on the first morning, Lio and Shae look for each of you. If and when they find you, you will be asked, in halfling, not to send your servants away and to check if any have been switched out since yesterday because if that is the case, they are being punished for displeasing you. If you have new servants, Lio suggests you request the previous servants as well as your current ones, so that they cease being punished and so that your new servants aren't punished as well.

Gozran 29 - FEAST OF THE ANCIENTS
Ameiko begins singing a haunting melody to set the tone for the Tale of the Red King's Son.
Ameiko's Perform (Sing) Check DC 30: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (20) + 16 = 36
Hrunndalf's roll to assist: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21
Hrunndalf adds +2 to the roll, as do Melinda, Liothonae, Myriana, and Kelda, for a total of 46.
The counterpoint harmony added by the others enhances the effect. The singing soon draws the entire room into the strange world of the ancient tale. 300 guests fall silent.

Kyrademon |

Gozran 29 - FEAST OF THE ANCIENTS
And then Kalimac begins telling the ancient Varisian tale:
|The son of the Red King sought to escape from death. He journeyed for eight years and came to the queen of all the birds that fly ...|
Kalimac's Peform (Oratory) Check DC 25: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (7) + 12 = 19
Reta, Ulf, and Rhost each add +2 to the roll, for a total of 25.
He is perhaps not used to performing before so many, but his practiced voice, aided by the sound effects provided by his fellows, soon come together to weave a compelling tale.

Zaiobe begins passing the puppets she has selected before the hooded lantern, projecting the tale onto the wall as it is told.
Zaiobe's Perform (Act) Check, DC 35: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (17) + 15 = 32
Spivey and Jorun each add +2 to the roll for a total of 36.
Zaiobe's extensive theatrical training, along with the deft work of the others manipulating secondary puppets, create the story like a living shadowy world projected cast upon wall, even with the unfamiliar tools they are using.
... I seriously did not expect you all to do this well on all three of these tasks. Nice.

Kyrademon |

Gozran 29 - FEAST OF THE ANCIENTS
There are tears in the Prince's eyes by the time the story is completed. He applauds for a solid five minutes, as do all 300 of the other guests present, not stopping until the Prince does.
"That was lovely, simply lovely," the Prince finally says, overcome. "The simple elegance of the story, the surpassing loveliness of the music of far away - you have a particularly lovely voice, I could not help but notice," he adds to Myriana. "You show how decrepit and moribund the arts are in this land," he continues, shaking his head sadly.
He snaps his fingers, and an attendant brings him a finely carved and decorated masterwork morin khuur.
"This is one of my own instruments. I insist you take it," he says, as his attendant brings you the traditional horsehead fiddle of the Hongali people. "I am certain that you could make better use of it than I ever could."
At a quick, rough estimate, it appears to be worth somewhere between 500 and 1,000 pieces of gold.

Melinda is far calmer returning to the room after the second feast, although she smiles as the door is locked behind them keeping the overflow of sycophantic attention outside. With a smile, <I think... if I go explore this monstrosity of a dwelling tomorrow morning, I should be able to figure out how to get us into the city without an entourage.> Ridiculous pleasure at being able to thwart the well-intentioned (in Mel's mind at least) servants bubbling up in her.
