Liothonae or Intelligence Check DC 15:
All of the attendants who had been waiting on Liothonae the previous day appear to have been replaced by others.

"A superb shot!" cries the delighted Prince. "I see the reputation the elves have for unsurpassed archery has not been exaggerated! If anything, the rumors fail to live up to the reality!"

"Skills such as the ones you have all exhibited tonight deserve acknowledgment. Fetch the prizes for the evening!" the Prince continues. He claps his hands and servants bring them forth. "I think there can be no question that you have won the day, so these humble and insufficient tokens of my admiration are yours."

You have been presented with a masterwork composite shortbow, an Efficient Quiver, and ten +1 arrows. It is made clear that the should weapons of a smaller size or a different strength rating be desired, fetching the proper replacement would be the matter of an instant.

Lio lets Myri, Kalimac, or Rhost take the winnings.

She shrugs deprecatingly in reply to the Prince's delighted statement. Myri is by far the superior archer, Lio just got lucky. Not to mention, the Prince should have been able to verify if the rumors were true or not long before this day, considering there were other elves in the city.

What did Shalelu, Jorun, Ameiko, Sandru etc participate in?

Shalelu, Jorun and possibly Myri:

Shalelu continues to hold Liothonae.

"I'll ... be OK, I think," Jorun says slowly. "It's, it's weird being ... I mean, I feel like I should be scared like they are, but no one's going to punish me if I'm not, and they're not going to get anything out of it if I am."

Lio smiles softly. Jorun was doing so much better than she was. Her expression is a mixture of being proud that he's doing so well, that he's able to keep his fears from interfering with his life, and a bit of shame that she herself has not managed to do so. Granted her experience with severely abusive slavery spanned approaching a century, and his was more of a decade and a half, and being human, his mind was more versatile and quicker to bounce back than hers... but still, she feels like she's a terrible example for the young Druid.

Lio takes a breath, and tries to calm down. Shae's proximity helps bring her back to reality further.

"Ye make a very good point, Jorun." She spends some time reflecting and drawing conclusions. "An' thinken about et, I could 'ave 'andled thot significantly b'tter. In 'e future, I will try ta keep yer words in mind."

She is by no means completely ok, but she's doing better.

It will probably simply be treated as a typical loot claim; I was just holding off on posting it immediately for various reasons.

Ameiko: Bareback Riding (didn't do very well)

Koya: Excused by reason of advanced age
Sandru: Mounted Archery (hit 4th ring out from bullseye)
Shalelu: Mounted Archery (hit 1st ring out from bullseye)
Reta: Wrestling (lost)
Bevelek: Bareback Riding (didn't do very well)
Vankar: Bareback Riding (didn't do very well)
Spivey: Wrestling (really really lost)
Kelda: Wrestling (lost)
Zaiobe: Mounted Archery (hit 3rd ring out from bullseye)
Buttersnips: Bareback Riding (did quite well, but did not get mount to fastest possible speed)
Tollin: Bareback Riding (fell off)
Uksahkka: Bareback Riding (did quite well, but failed quick mounting attempt)
Jorun: Bareback Riding (didn't do very well)
Ulf: Bareback Riding (did quite well, but failed quick mounting attempt)

And her stepmother cheered louder for her than for Rhost. Which takes some doing.

"If we look into now are there going to be more people disappearing?"

She looks at the new attendants, clearly wondering if asking after the boy would make his situation worse. Or get the new escorts in trouble.

Jorun takes a deep breath. "I'll try to keep them in mind myself, at the feast."

For Jorun, of course, has his own buttons which may soon be pressed.

Not understanding a word of the Taldane, your attendants and escorts look at you with bright, smiling faces.

"Well, we don't actually know the boy has disappeared. We only know he isn't here. We can safely assume any questions about him will likely get the answerer in trouble as well. So we're left with the options of asking anyway, sneaking around and looking for ourselves, or me just reading the minds of a couple people."

"So as we are going into the city, I should bring up his name? And you'll focus on the person I'm talking with?" A pause. "I mean, I can always assume that he isn't with us because he is a house servant and not supposed to be in the city?"

If Rhost makes his wishes known to his attendants, he is led directly there. Otherwise, it takes hours to find the kitchens in the maze-like Palace.

They are huge, a vast realm in and of themselves, meant to prepare enough food to feed a small army on a daily basis.

Kalimac feels that perhaps some equestrian lessons are needed for the team. He keeps this to himself, though.

Anyone but Reta:
Plains travel

Melinda looks to have a quick conversation with Shalelu while Reta is on guard duty on the far side of the caravan. She approaches with a smile, "Hi, Shae." Her head ducking in a quick greeting. "Can I ask for a favor... more advice than favor, actually."

On the Steppes of Hongal

Anyone But Reta:
"Certainly," Shalelu replies.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Everyone. Why is this spoilered?:
Before the shopping trips in Ordu-Aganhei, Zaiobe and probably Myriana quietly spread the word that sometime in the next few weeks, there will be both a baby shower for Milena and a joint bridal shower for Liothonae and Shalelu, if people were of a mind to purchase small gifts for such things.

If any attempts to conceal this information from anyone are made, they fail spectacularly.

Female Quarter-Orc Sorcerer

On the Steppes of Hongal

Again ~ Not Reta:
"Alaric and I are planning a celebration for Reta, probably in Ordu-Aganhei." She smiles, "I really want to get her a new bow, and Myri has told me that composite bows can be built to take advantage of the user's strength." The smile gets a little bigger, "I was wondering if you could recommend a.... ummm... pull strength? That would be ideal for Reta."

She smiles happily at the military leader of the caravan.

Mel will also ask if they can be directed to stores that sell enchanted weapons.

Now we are stuck in a place I don't fully understand, and it is causing your mother and I no small amount of distress. The boy who was our servant is gone this morning, and I am concerned that our talking to him has resulted in something awful. I'm stuck between wanting to tear this place apart looking for him, and the reality that I can't change this culture with short sighted violence."

THE STREETS OF ORDU-AGANHEI

Those of you who venture out into the streets - accompanied by your retinues - soon find yourselves back in the whirl and bustle of the colorful city. You quickly find that you are treated with great deference and respect by the various merchants, vendors, and other townsfolk you interact with; apparently being accompanied by the Prince's guard is having an effect.

Those of you going out to shop, explore, or for other reasons go out on the town, please let me know. You can simply give me a shopping list, or let me know what else you might be doing. If there are specific scenes you wish to roleplay out for one reason or another, let me know.

(Naturally, you may very well experience role-playing scenes while shopping whether you request them or not, but if you had anything specific in mind you wished to do in an IC manner, please do tell me.)

Rhost will definitely be back to see these things in operation. After shopping.

Shopping

The goods are of unusual design, and the weapon and armor shops contain many unfamiliar items, although given the city's position on the trading route, ones of more familiar Avistani make are available as well.

The money used is different as well, coins with square holes in the center which are often strung together on string. But, at least since the collapse of the Lung-Wa empire more than 100 years ago and the dissolution of the central imperial mint, there is a general attitude that any gold is good gold, and if your coinage contains precious metals, it is accepted at their worth.
