<But it must have been wrong. Musn’t it? You were so angry and they were both so upset and he was so hurt ... so hurt, Lio, I couldn’t bear that I had hurt him that much. No one hurt me, I hurt everyone. I tried and tried to convince him that I didn’t know, that I hadn’t known I was doing anything wrong, and he finally believed me, oh gods, finally. And before when you yelled at me and wouldn’t even touch me I thought you had gone mad but you were right, I don’t know why you’re apologizing to me, you were absolutely right, he’s angry at you and I don’t even understand why, I hurt him so terribly, I broke my word to you, and I didn’t even know it was important, I’m so stupid, I thought no one would care, I thought no one would care, you told me it would happen and I didn’t listen, I’m so stupid, I’m ...>
"Shhhh, it's ok. You didn't do anything terribly wrong." Lio holds you, rocking slightly in a very comforting and maternal way, mutters softly that it's going to be alright, that everything will work out. "I was angry because I was afraid. Not because you were doing anything wrong. I don't know why they were upset. Maybe if you can tell me what they said, I can try to sift through it. I only know humans are strange and sensitive in ways that make no sense. I know that Alaric has a problem with intimacy when it relates to me. I don't really understand why, but it seems to have something to do with the fact that I'm Melinda's great grandmother. I've talked to Shalelu about it, who is much wise and older than I am, and she too is unable to figure out what goes on in his mind. Maybe he was hurt by a lover in the past. Maybe he is bigoted against elves, but because he must preach freedom for all, he cannot admit that and finds some other reason to hate me. Maybe he doesn't like the color of my hair. Whatever it is, it means he gets upset when he thinks about me." She's still keeping you in a careful embrace, her words very soft and non-threatening.

Lio nods in rare solidarity with Hrunndalf. It is the same for her people.
She stays by Shalelu, putting her head against the much taller Elf's shoulder.
Only Shalelu and possibly Jorun catch the unspoken thought, Puppy, do not kick the puppy.... he is like a puppy. Yet under that thought, a bit darker, and where you come from the also tattoo the faces of children and make them slaves. Further, Luckily that sometimes you are not like the rest of your culture. Around five hours after helping Mel into the truck, Alaric emerges with Zaiobe and Reta, looking exhausted and overjoyed. He stops dead in his tracks at Rags, then shrugs, and scratches the rhino behind the ear, then leads him away from the wagon. Once he's a reasonable distance away from the family wagon, he comes to the fire. "Mel and the baby are fine. They're sleeping now. When she's ready to have visitors, you can go in one at a time."
Lio looks relieved that everything went well, and happily surprised that it was over so quickly.
"Thank ye Alaric." She tells him, for his sharing of the good news. Her smile is genuine. She's excited to meet Milena when Mel was feeling up to visitors later. "Rhost made dinner, did ye all wont some?" Lio asks the three exhausted people. If people are hungry, Lio helps Rhost serve dinner, taking care not to give Myri anything that might easily break if it were to drop to the ground.

Lio goes off a ways with Jorun, bright and early, to conduct mysterious druidic rituals. When they are done, and the sun is rising, Lio approaches the area where Kalimac went.
"Hello," she says quietly.
"Good morning," Kalimac smiles. "I think this fine fellow," he says, indicating the saddled horse he brought along, "will do fine for teaching you how to ride. He seems the least stubborn. Although they're all well trained; there wasn't much to recommend one over the other. I probably could have picked by chance and got a good horse to teach with."
He smiles at the horse and pats its leg before continuing. "Now, since you know how to drive a wagon I won't have to teach you the commands. They're basically the same. So all you have to learn is how to move with the horse. And since you're just a bit more agile than Rhost or Alaric, and aren't wearing full plate armor, you should do fine."
"So, let's start with mounting the horse." He demonstrates with Attatoq. "Put your left foot in the stirrup like so, and swing yourself up."
