This. I like it a lot, because it solves a lot of the need for "must have" items like the big six, and because it makes more of the power of a PC come from the character themselves instead of loot and other stuff.

Victarion is finally updated!

-+1 to fortitude and reflex
-+4 HP (2 rolled, 1 CON and 1 Favored Class)
-Plenty of skill points spent (Upped all the ones I had but Knowl(Nature) and used the 2 background skills points to obtain Appraise. Now I'm a merchant!)
-Obtained 3 Second Level Spells per Day (1 class, 1 school, 1 INT)
-Obtained 2 Spells known (Invisibility, Flaming Sphere)
-Obtained Improved Initiative (Now I dare anybody to go before me)

And I have realised that during my effort to roleplay all his "specialness" and magical dickery I have forgot to roleplay his little magical aide: Bobo the Dodo, his dodo familiar.

So GM, should I assume he's been dozing in his backpack or he has been left back at the Inn studying as every good Dodo should?

with the exception of Artemis who has literally just joined our merry band, and before any major purchases the sum of gold i have awarded pc's so far is roughly 1100 gp i could be a bit off but that should be around the correct amount

Okay so i've been thinking of a way to bring in a new person and i've got an idea. i'm going to start a recruitment nothing too long a shorty.

is there any class we feel we really need to round out the group?

How about more ranged damage? I think the most obviously important thing we could use is "healer" but I dont know. I dont want someone to feel like they need to be a band-aid.

I say a sorcerer, but merely because that say I could scoff and laugh at him for being an uneducated swine.

Things that we could use: a trapfinder, a healer, ranged damage... but mist important someone who will enjoy their character and stay. Mostly because Victarion is a mildly insane mathemagician that can start treating new appearing characters as short lived and little more than a footnote.

"Oh, interesting that you mention having been born a bastard of the king. I will try to remember that, it will make such a fine campfire story for the next one to occupy your place."

Yeah, this games had a weirdly high turnover rate. Go with who seems the most enthusiastic. See if they have a lot of posts in the same game, etc...

Also, I was kidding about ranged damage. Literally every PC but mine in this game has had a ranged focus. At this point, I just think it'll be funny if we get another shooter.

there are already a few people with finished submissions i set a cutoff date to limit submissions to 12pm midnight, after that i'm going to announce a cutoff date for all those who have shown interest but not made a submission . shouldn't be too long a few days at most maybe less

I like your enthusiasm! ^^ And I know I said good luck making it down the river, but maybe not all three of you need to make it down in one piece. Not that I'd want for anybody to get hurt, but if one of you were to show up injured, it'll probably override the cautious mindset Bela's been in since escaping with the more "Oh, this stranger needs help" mindset. Just spitballing for ideas in case we hadn't quite worked out how these two groups bump into each other.

Then again, cautious Bela brandishing a morningstar at the group isn't without its charm.

So glad I joined you guys. I'm having a lot of fun already. I have two questions, though. Figured I'd ask and let someone else post before I reply. =)

I've never seen sense motive used on another PC who wasn't making an opposed bluff check; do I report what Azruk would sense or will you do that, GM Zero? Secondly, are any of your characters visibly injured? I read that they were injured by that fungus a while back but didn't see if any of them were healed. Should I be rolling heal/perception checks to find out?
