Dragon Mountain (Inactive)

Game Master Banesama

A tale that is older than time itself. A place, part-myth, party-imagination, part-truth, that is filled with wondrous treasure and incredible peril. This place could be the top of any adventurer's career, or the end of it.

Some of the stories say it overflows with jewels, gold, and magical items. Others say it isn't guarded, but still others warn against the incredibly powerful forces that guard the entrance. None of the stories seem to match.

Located at the edge of all that is known, it appears to change where it is located, and sometimes not be there at all. No one is certain when it will come back, or where, but they know they want to be there when it reappears. They want what it can bring them, regardless of the danger. They want Dragon Mountain.

"Well, well, well, let's push Arik to a later date."

Mihail points towards a house.

"Arik did told us Lothar is the to go person for knowledge about the mountain. I guess we could ask him. I hope this is not another of his petty schemes. I advise caution if we decide to visit him. If not, I can always ask other people."

Diplomacy to gather information: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (12) + 20 = 32

Mihail starts to ask around about Lothar when a friendly old man answers him.

"Lothar? Lothar moved into Twin Forks about five years ago. Said he was tired of traveling, that he was looking for a nice quiet place to live. Most of the local Folk were a wee bit nervous, having an adventurous type like Lothar living in our little village. But he's not been much of a problem."

"Lothar's a bit of the nervous type, if you know what I mean. He doesn't like strangers, especially strangers who come and ask questions about him. No, don't worry. He won't hear it from me. You look like honest folk, not like those fisher-folk from Colvin that sometimes come and visit Lothar. You can find Lothar in the last house on the East Road."

Btw, the gather information was meant for dragon mountain.

The party heads for the house mentioned to be Lothar's. The door is shut. You knock on the door but no one answers.

"Would it be rude to peek in and see if he's ignoring us?"

Message to party

"One of you please make a not-so-legal forced entry. Try not to cause permanent damage to the door in the process. Lothar wouldn't be too happy about it." Fuego suggests. "Check the door for traps also, in case someone got here before us."

Id say pick the lock and pop ourselves in.I'm wondering if someone kidnapped Lothar or what but that can wait till we get in.

The door isn't locked.

J'Victis chuckles as he stands back and watches Fuego do what he wants to do.
Wow, I see your the Law is the Law speech was a work of fiction. You could just knock on the door and see what happens before you very publicly break the law.
J'Victis takes a look around to see if anyone is watching.

If you wish to break into a person house in broad daylight....which is a HUGE mistake....go right ahead. I will be across the street.....to help you out of the hole you are digging yourself into. Good luck.

If there is no one watching he will walk across the street and hide in the bushes.

Message J'Victus

"You don't get it, do you? I'm worried for his safety. We were ambushed on our way here. Someone might have kidnapped him. And anytime we spend dickering here may be time less to find him."

Won't be the first time I've pryed open a door on suspicion that something had happened to the inhabitants inside.

J'Victis keeps moving to hide across the street.

Clara sighs as her friend sets immediately to petty vandalism, but follows J'Victus

"We can't take him anywhere. This is why we knock. If he's not home, we look in the windows. We don't just break the door down. This isn't a dungeon. Next thing you know everything will be on fire and he'll be equivocating about how the thatch was looking at him funny."

"This feels like a setup. I will have to go with my guts on this one and to just sit back and observe for now. Do what you want."

Mihail follows the rogue to hiding.

Stealth (Take 20) - 35

@ Fuego:
You detect no traps or magic before entering the house. Inside the house you see the place is a mess. Furniture scattered everywhere, pits of cloths on the floor. You check the other rooms and see the same thing. It is like who ever lived here packed things up quickly and left in a hurry.

J' Victus, Clara, Mihail:
You three go and hide, a large group of people approach the house from the west. They gather in front of it and a well armed man steps forward from the group and yells out to those inside.

From outside the house, a man yells to those inside. "Come out!"

"Look, are you Lothar? I apologize for breaking in your house, but I was worried for your safety. We were waylaid by bandits on our way here, and I broke in because I thought the bandits might have tried to kidnap you." Fuego replies to the man. message spell
Give me a few seconds to get into position before you do anything. I am going after the spell caster on the west side. Do not worry about area spell, if you have to send them down do so. I will try to neutralize the spell caster. Lets see if we can defuse this before Fuego starts seeing bandits everywhere.
With a chuckle he pulls out a vial and disappears from view.

You can move where you were originally thinking. Also combat has not started yet.

The leader of the group watches Fuego fly away and then shouts in the general direction he went also for anyone else in the house.

"I don' know why you're after da boss, and I don' care. Da boss don' like you. He said we should take care of you. But me, I'm a nice guy. I'll make you an offer. You can drop all of dose fancy weapons, strip out of dat nice armor, and walk away from dis. Or me and the boys will chop you into stew meat. That cha say?"

Mihail nods.
