Jordy recognise the creatures as darkmantles cave dwelling scavengers that like to ambush prey by dropping on them from above. He doesn't know any other details about them.
I'm assuming you continue to attack them? If so Jordy will attack and hit one of them.
one of them uses his darkness spell like ability on a peddle and tosses it down while the rest will try to move directly above the group.

The light spell is negated by the magical darkness which is stronger
The darkness is a 20 feet radius you can move out of the area. Any spell that produces light which is a lower level than the spell darkness (2) has no effect in the darkness.
