Game Master Winterwalker

The first waves that came where unexpected. They did not end. Soon entire towns and civilizations where engulfed in a magical flood that no one could stop.

Hmm
Str: 14
DEX: 13
CON: 10
INT: 17
WIS: 17

Crap the cha didn't get copy pasted right

Regardless something int or wis focused

Druid could be nice, maybe a merfolk, haven't played one of them in a while

I had no current plans to do so, but if I need to I may.

STR: 15
DEX: 14
CON: 13
INT: 12
WIS: 14
CHR: 12

If this is still open, this could make a lot of potentailly interssting things that rely on a lot of stats.

Perhaps an inspired blade swashbuckler with a dip into gunslinger later- use all of the rather decent stats.

Still open. Happy to put your name in the hat for tonight's pick

Alrighty, let's go with stat array 3:
17
15
14
15
9
15

Nice, verra nice. As I understand it, we're free to rearrange those if we didn't get an exceptional stat, yes? That being the case, let's put it like so:

Str 9
Con 14
Dex 15
Int 15
Wis 15
Cha 17

And if the hat draw works out in my favor, then I'll get to work on Ricard, Superb Shark Summoner.

Here's my pseudodragon familiar. I left a fair amount of it nebulous because I'd like to base it on the actual party and work together on some things, but hopefully there's enough there to get a sense of the character.

I may have missed this from earlier, but are you trying to play a familiar OF another character? How did you build this Pseudodragon, so I can look it over?

I'd certainly prefer you play a character, not someone's companion.

Thanks!

It's built with The Monster Classes: Woodlands from DSP. Being another character's familiar / companion is purely fluff / character building stuff, I'd still act as a full character.

Ooh, if we both get selected somehow, and you were "my companion"

That would simplify the choices a bit

Can I get a masterwork tool that adds bonuses to a specific knowledge skill?

Also, holy bawls Grumbaki...I actually have an Undine Cleric whose campaign eventually died named....Rahiv! SO CLOSE in name.

Thank you for actually using the full saying

Never heard the full saying before today

Shadow Lodge

This is why I am thanking him

A lot of sayings used today are taken out of context in context that saying refers to how the majority isn't always smart, people with roughly the same intelligence just tend to act similarly

Likewise
The whole "blood is thicker than water" thing was originally
"The blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb" meaning that the bonds you chose are more powerful than the ones you were born with (specifically religious ones but still)

8 hours ago he said he'd draw people

As a DM I don't allow masterwork items to help you 'know' something better. But 'magical' potions, items, and trinkets tend to fill those gaps down the road.

Never used these, but if you feel you need them to play then go for it, I don't think it'll disrupt anything I have planned.

I'm rather behind on a lot of these new options, so don't spin my head too much. However, I'm pretty nonchalant about most of these if you feel you want to play them, though called shots and hero points are a no, as I don;t plan to use them for the NPCS. House rules may pop up, but I will never use them against you or try to surprise you with them if I have any, Traits = 2 at start unless you use methods to earn more, like a drawback, feats, etc.

:)

Any chance of drawing today?

I made all the random picks [5] last night and these were the names I drew from the virtual hat:

1. Ambnz
2. 189birds
3. Kevin O'R440
4. Tundran
5. Umbungo

For everyone else please feel free to stay involved, I can keep you part of the story in the background, i.e. part of ship or kingdom building or the other stuff, but active battles etc I will limit that to the actual players that are active.

I will devise a way for you in the background to level up, and progress too, in case you need to step up into the spotlight and be 'active' giving us plenty of flexibility to hot swap PCs if needed.

I hope that appease everyone.

golden ticket:
You win! The first person to type:
GOLDEN TICKET: XXX (where XXX is yours or your friends name
gets the 6th and final spot in the game.

I will have the prologue up shortly, and once you have your final characters built please post here so I can give it an eyeball and approve you to start, then we can get going.

I look forward to seeing how far we can get, and look forward to a few concepts put forth here as very interesting characters were pitched. I plan to be as fair and impartial as I can be, as I have secrets planned that I hope will be as good as finding out Darth Vader is all your fathers.

I thought so. :) Battles are cumbersome on the forums I hope to streamline that so you can be part of the story still this way at least :) and if we drop a player (it happens) you can step in when needed :)

How active will I be able to be?

You seem to do well enough

Although I hope you don't leave the game like you did in 2014 or at least if you do can you come back as soon as possible as long as I'd doesn't take longer than 3 or 4 months I'm happy to come back

I am so sorry ADM that I pulled a Ninja. Literally I woke up like 15 minutes before due to some acid reflux so I just so happened to be checking the thread >.<

Edit: How did I never roll for stats...~grumbles~

RNG HELL:

Stats: 4d6 ⇒ (1, 1, 1, 3) = 6
Stats: 4d6 ⇒ (1, 4, 3, 1) = 9
Stats: 4d6 ⇒ (3, 4, 4, 1) = 12
Stats: 4d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 4, 6) = 21
Stats: 4d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 3, 4) = 17
Stats: 4d6 ⇒ (4, 5, 3, 2) = 14

Jeebus...I hope that allows for a reroll O.o

Stats: 4d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 3, 2) = 15
Stats: 4d6 ⇒ (1, 1, 2, 2) = 6
Stats: 4d6 ⇒ (4, 2, 4, 3) = 13
Stats: 4d6 ⇒ (3, 1, 3, 4) = 11
Stats: 4d6 ⇒ (1, 5, 1, 3) = 10
Stats: 4d6 ⇒ (6, 3, 3, 2) = 14

I normally not one to do this gawd awful in rolling stats O.o

Stats: 4d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 2, 1) = 9
Stats: 4d6 ⇒ (3, 2, 6, 4) = 15
Stats: 4d6 ⇒ (1, 1, 4, 3) = 9
Stats: 4d6 ⇒ (2, 4, 3, 5) = 14
Stats: 4d6 ⇒ (2, 5, 2, 2) = 11
Stats: 4d6 ⇒ (1, 4, 5, 3) = 13

Doom....why you try and doom me.

Stats: 4d6 ⇒ (3, 2, 4, 5) = 14
Stats: 4d6 ⇒ (2, 1, 6, 2) = 11
Stats: 4d6 ⇒ (2, 5, 5, 1) = 13
Stats: 4d6 ⇒ (1, 2, 1, 3) = 7
Stats: 4d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 5, 2) = 14
Stats: 4d6 ⇒ (4, 3, 1, 3) = 11

What the absolute fluff!

Stats: 4d6 ⇒ (2, 4, 5, 6) = 17
Stats: 4d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 4, 1) = 11
Stats: 4d6 ⇒ (1, 5, 2, 5) = 13
Stats: 4d6 ⇒ (3, 2, 1, 4) = 10
Stats: 4d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 2, 2) = 11
Stats: 4d6 ⇒ (1, 1, 1, 1) = 4

O.o I almost wanna roll with this one just because I've never seen a 3 stat.

Stats: 4d6 ⇒ (5, 1, 4, 6) = 16
Stats: 4d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 2, 4) = 12
Stats: 4d6 ⇒ (2, 2, 5, 3) = 12
Stats: 4d6 ⇒ (6, 6, 5, 1) = 18
Stats: 4d6 ⇒ (3, 1, 6, 5) = 15
Stats: 4d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 2, 4) = 11

It's at least playable...

If allowed the reroll on that one though...

Stats: 4d6 ⇒ (3, 2, 3, 6) = 14
Stats: 4d6 ⇒ (4, 6, 6, 6) = 22
Stats: 4d6 ⇒ (6, 2, 6, 1) = 15
Stats: 4d6 ⇒ (2, 1, 4, 6) = 13
Stats: 4d6 ⇒ (4, 3, 3, 5) = 15
Stats: 4d6 ⇒ (3, 2, 6, 1) = 12

Wait I think I actually did use your roll o magic system early on...chance you could PM me my stats?

Awesome!!! I'm really excited to play!!!

So from what I can glean for the other players so far:

189birds- Possible Summoner
Kevin OR- Oracle or Bard
Tundran- "bloodrager/paladin/cavalier or possibly just like a slayer w/face skills....maybe a cleric"
Umbungo- Human Armored Magus

Jing-to be determined. Also @Jing don't forget that Winterwalker linked a custom stat roller that adds an extra d6 to any 18 results, and rolls the stats in order*.

As for me, it looks like we have 3(!!!) very good charisma based folk not even including myself.

With this group I think it may be interesting to go Dragon Sorcerer -> Dragon Disciple if everyone stays close-ish to their classes, its been awhile since I was a blaster. Could go either Bronze or Brine dragon for the water-flavor.

Open to discussing backgrounds with the other people who were picked as well!

As a divine spellcaster built around the concept of having a god...You've said there is no PF deities (While I did say Besmara in my original concept I'm thinking Pirate of the seas cleric, Restoration and Weather domains specifically.)

That said, a cleric (Warpriest too if I stare at it and decide that's my route) get a weapon prof of their deity. I have no deity...can I just chose to be a pirate and pick a pistol or cutlass? (Honestly leaning more cutlass than Pistol but I like options.) Hell could even go Trident and pretend to be a sea god my damned self!

Pick a god if you need to determine what domains/weapon combos work for building your character. The fluff in the game is no deities remain, but don't let that stop you building a character around what is a valid domain/weapon for whatever god you used to worship. :)

Awesome!

I really like the suggestion of an orca for a mount, but looking at it now I wonder if it's really usable with only 10 Con.

I've been looking through the list and I had some other ideas for possible aquatic mounts. Would you allow any of these?

giant moray eel
snapping turtle
walrus
elasmosaurus
basilosaurus

I think each of those could arguably be ridden when they become Large, and the implicit flavor of riding any of those would be unique and fun.

I'm not totally married to a mount class either, still just thinking about options.

Don't forget there is the wave rider archetype for the cavalier~

http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/base-classes/cavalier/archetypes/paizo-cava lier-archetypes/wave-rider-cavalier-archetype/

It trades out heavy armor proficiency for a hippocampus mount you get at first level.

If you have Aquatic Adventures, there's also a cavalier archetype in that that gives you a choice between a special sea-horse and a special orca, both of which start at large at level 1

Ayyy I'm in!
Cool yeah, my character is going to be a summoner probably, still. You never specified (as far as I can see?) if you'd prefer normal or unchained summoner?
Not 100% sure on race yet- by when would you like everything finalized?

Interesting! I didn't know about either of those archetypes. A Large mount at level 1 would be really nice for sure.

@GM: Would you mind opening the Gameplay thread so we can dot? It's so much easier for me to keep track that way.

Moray Eels freak the crap out of me with their 2 jaws. But I suppose if any of those get to large sized they can be trained as mounts.
