Ok first I want to say congratulations to everyone who will be in the campaign hopefully this will be the best PbP campaign you will be on. I would just like to start out with some house rules of the campaign and how the overall direction will be going as a intro.
1. this will be free form campaign at least as the best a can do. please don't think I will be railroading to adventures. This will be your choice as a group. that being said if someone wishes to go on a adventure that you don't necessary want to go on try to be fair and go along with it with the understanding that they go along with one your really interested in. so with that (if you all want to say f%%~ that on being conscripted by all means rebel against the barony. and I will roll with it the best I can and move on or see where it leads.)
2. I will be rolling all perception checks and initiatives. the way I do battles is a group initiative. where all the characters go at the same time. that way no one is waiting on another to post because their initiative is better. (trust me this is the best way to keep people from waiting.)
3. I'm not adverse to people using the sense motive skill to find out a "hunch" about any encounters. As a house rule I allow a a one time per encounter "hunch" about the creatures if you want to know about them. Because my random encounters truly are random. so you may fight creatures higher than your level or encounters higher than your levels. you must be specific about your "hunch" however. (basically you roll; then after you find out you pass or fail. then write what you want your hunch about. it cannot be all encompassing. i will try to work with you in the campaign until everyone gets a "feel" for this. this can be used untrained wis check. a nat (20) gets extra info, or auto pass for those with crap wis stats.)
examples of a badly worded hunch typically are mechanical questions- "what is the CR of the encounter" "what is HD of the creature"
good examples "does it look like the creatures are stalling", " does the enemy look like a better fighter than me?" "how competent fighter does he seem?"
4. Quests that you have unlocked will be on the campaign tab. (certain quests have a level minimum or some other min requirements) for example you may find a letter in a weird language or code. you will not find out what in the letter until the min is satisfied. which could be level, race, killing certain creature, skill min, etc.
5. please respect DM spoliers for characters. I know the need to look can sometime be overwhelming and if i think it might be abused or a huge spoiler I might PM people.
6. respect other players, and thier choices. If we lose a player (it happens) we will recruit or other players can talk to thier friends on the baords or in other campaings to try to submit applications. (because part of the fun of dnd is getting to know people and im not adverse to considering friends on other campaings joining as family memerbers from your backgrounds where they have a automatic steak in the campaingn) everyone can have a say on the chraracter before we let them in, but remember ulimatly it is my choice, but if you know someone is a giant douche on the boards please let me know.
7. Have fun!!!

Please set up your character like I did under Fierams stat block under his name. Those that have not played PbP before you place it in the class space on the character tab. I did this as a example you will not typically have this information for everyone.
I chose some people that don't have a whole lot of experience PbP so if you have any questions let me know.
We are also doing combat on google docs. for those that don't know it is found at the top of the campaign tab under Damara that will be set up where you have edit access which means you can move your character pic. I will add all other effects.

Darkwing_DM |

Before anyone posts after looking the above intro please correct or update the following on your character sheets with the issues I found and reminders on lingistics that is my house rule (mainly for RP reasons).
Daren Del'him
please fix your feat on your sheet- Fencing grace to imperial conscript-
Oalin Donkas- your missing background skills- (that is 2 additinal points as long as its a class skill. from the list.) you need to flesh out the rest, melee and ranged attacks etc.
Appraise, Artistry, Craft, Handle Animal ,Knowledge (engineering) ,Knowledge (geography) ,Knowledge (history) ,Knowledge (nobility) ,Linguistics ,Lore ,Perform ,Profession ,Sleight of Hand
Freja Bjorn- dont forget if no lingustic rank no read/write in this campaign. and please complete your bear cub animal compaion.
Morgabir Swift-Feather
missing background skills (see above), and dont forget if no lingustic rank no read/write in this campaign.
Virid-
your missing all your skill points- please fill them in dont forget to add background skills (see above).
Deigo
Your good to start posting-

Oalin Donkas |

OK, figured out how to post as Oalin at least (I have really only been using one ID here on the paizo forums.)
At work right now & have the character fleshed out at home. I am on PST here, so will address everything when I get home.
And - thank you for the selection. I may need help formatting everything the way you want to see it, as I am a noob with pbp here on this site.

Finn Fitzroy |

The Paizo site currently is a bit slow for me. I have ported the basic description. I will extend it later with the detailed list of skill and other information.
In the condensed stat row you want the Intelligence modifier or the Initiative modifier?

Daren Del'Him |

Had a crazy weekend, but ready to go. Got the feat changed. Did have another pic already picked out for him, but after just seeing Beauty and the Beast, this guy just looked too close to Gastoff to pass up.

Darkwing_DM |

Play as you wish don't worry about me. sometimes ill use NPCs and sometimes not. you can NPC your family members as long as its not in any combat. I'll try my best to also NPC your family member as best a can according to your background.
(currently the dwarf isn't in the mood to dally, he is very business like in his approach to people.)

Oalin Donkas |

Finn, Oalin's whole family are self-imposed town outcasts that keep to themselves. Knob's Mine would have run them off long ago for being so unsociable if not for the fine food and seasonal fortified drink they bring to barter with.
All the players here can choose how their PC's approached it growing up (joining in or defending, we can RP it either way), but part of Oalin's background is that kids threw rocks at him and his family when they could get away with it, and barb him with calls of, "Oalin Donkey."

Morgabir Swift-Feather |

That's fairly similar to Morgabir's story.
His family served as guides, rangers, and protectors, surviving mostly from their skills foraging and farming in the forest.
They relied on trade for staples and such, providing pelts, root vegetables, herbs, and other subdries.
As a rule, Mor stayed out of town as much as possible.

Oalin Donkas |

Yea, there were an abundance of, "town-fringe," submissions in the recruitment, either through race, class or backstory. I was laughing to myself as I was reading them all, "not ALL of us can live on the outskirts, someone has to populate the town!"
Daren (and Finn more or less) embraced the, "town proper," origin, so we have a mix.

Virid Dillest |

I don’t think Virid would have. He was too self-conscious to ever do anything that might draw attention to himself, and he’d probably assume that the other “normal” kids would stand up for you.

Finn Fitzroy |

A couple of questions:
1) what is the season?
2) I have taken Reactionary as a feat, but if we roll group initiative it don't seem useful. It is possible to change it?
Finn follow Milil, but in reality he know very little about that faith.

Darkwing_DM |

this brought up something I typically do. your allowed for the first month we play to change anything. (ability points, skills, feats, traits, and yes even your background.) that way you have a "feel" for your character but are not stuck with him as written. that way you can see how I Dm, and my play style. you just have to let me know what your changing. this change however cannot be encounter or battle specific. just leave a note in the discussion thread, and why your changing it and that's good enough for me.

Finn Fitzroy |

Thanks, I have taken: Poverty stricken
It give a +1 to Survival and make it a class skill.
I have updated the profile with all information. Currently I have no money as I gave everything to Deirdre.

Darkwing_DM |

battles will be different from other posts ill post the end of round and enemies actions at 9-10 CST U.S. the next day after the battle starts. that way even people that post at night wont always miss the first round. if you do not post before then your round will be lost. so starting tomorrow at 9-10 they will go on their round. (unless I see everyone has gone. in witch case ill go ahead and post the enemies round)

Finn Fitzroy |

I hope no one has problem with the way in which Finn shout orders and suggestions to people around him, but it is his way to use inspire courage (beside the little thing that he don't know how to shut up).
:-)
If that become annoying let me know, I will curb it a bit.
BTW, I am Italian, so sometime my grammar will be questionable.

Finn Fitzroy |

The ability to support his allies is one of the main features of a bard. Someone know how we color a piece of text to make it more visible, so I can make more evident when I am using inspire courage?
@Freya: I am using both visual and audible components, so Bjorn should benefit from Inspire courage.

Darkwing_DM |

Oalin if you would be interested I saw this familiar archetype and I thought it might go with your character concept. (I would be willing to talk as your familiar, maybe tempting your character with power. for a little more RP flavor.) because the way your playing him it seems like you might be more susceptible than others to influence.
let me know if the link is broken. you would still control all mechanical aspects except dialog if this is something your interested in.

Oalin Donkas |

Link not broken.
That actually sounds like a good way to play this. I had not considered any archetypes, and I thought at first to have Thing want to be helpful in its suggestions of powers and spells to tap into, but Oalin resisting acceptance of the offensive/attack spells (until he finds himself in dire straights and then FORCED to use them for self-preservation.)
Having Thing be insistent adds a new layer of intrigue to the mix.
Rule of cool... Do it. I'll control movement and whatnot, you control impressions/imparted emotions/instructions/demands.
Because the familiar of a Witch stores their spells, and right now Oalin only has an inkling of what spells he can even pick for Thing to store (Daze, Stabilize and CLW are all he is aware of -- he does not even know he can Hex yet), it is up to Thing under your control to reveal what it wants.
