Human

Welcome back Treppa! :)

Making an icky face as he tries to flick some of Araxus' blood from his fingertips.

"Da##it Jim! I'm a wizard, not a cleric! I'm,... Oh, wait, I did that bit already,... Don't you die on me sir! If you die now, I will kill you!" Slidell says straight-faced and apparently quite serious.

From one of his many pockets, Slidell pulls a small metal vial. He pulls the cork with his teeth, and spits it aside in true action hero style. Pulling Araxus shoulders off the ground and tilting his head back, Slidell slowly pours the contents of the tiny vial into Araxus' mouth.

"Live da#n you, Live! LIVE!!" He cries.

PUll out 1 potion of CLW and feed it to Araxus. :)

MWAH-HA-HAAA

Why Mr. Slidell, you forgot to roll the heals! Your potion, your 1d8+1, sir. I'm glad the potions were remembered.

Human

Oops! Hey, at least I remembered my 'crazy mage' act! (It's so rusty now, I had to dust it off!) :)

CLW roll: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

Male Human Conjurer (Infernal Binder) 1 {Init +2, HP 1/8, AC 12}

As the potion takes effect, Araxus regains consciousness, although is still very weak. "Thank you," he says rather pitifully.

Human

Slidell gets a wild-eyed look, and throws his hands into the air.

"IT'S,... ALIIIIVE!!!"

He looks down at Araxus, and winks.

"Your welcome. Now, come on, get up. We need to help the sword-swingers before they add any more blood to our nice clean sewer!"

"The goblins, on the other hand, have got to go." He adds darkly.

MWAH-HA-HAAA

Slidell has used his action for round 3, but Araxus can take his turn any time, since bleeding isn't really an action.

Human

Oh that wasn't an action,... just colorful inter-action! :)

Male Human Conjurer (Infernal Binder) 1 {Init +2, HP 1/8, AC 12}

Ooh, I have an action?

Araxus rises unsteadily to his feet. "Vile vermin," he says of the goblins. He still looks very unsteady on his feet, and his condition is precarious.

Move action to stand up. That is all I get since I am on 0 hp.

6/9 Max | Init +1, Perception +5

Totally confused here...so Damien's entire post with clever idea and all is now retconned or just had no effect at all so was not worth mentioning?

MWAH-HA-HAAA

Not at all; I was having difficulty putting it all together after such a long delay. But in reviewing your description, Damien is entitled to an Intimidate roll, DC 10, and adding 4 to his normal Intimidate bonus because he's one size category larger than the goblin. If he succeeds, he'll save Camris some blood! It has no effect on the unconscious guys.

6/9 Max | Init +1, Perception +5

No effect on the unconscious guys! Unacceptable! They should be seeing Damien in their nightmares!! /ragequit

>_>
<_<
...[mrgreen]...

Okay, okay...the unconscious guys can just sleep. /eyeroll :P

Damien's sick intimidate roll: 1d20 + 9 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 9 + 4 = 24

"I have you now, Green Beans! Dinner time!!" Damien screeches in his best slobbering barbarian accent. Thank Hell I have had so much exposure to the theater, Damien thinks to himself.

Male Halfling Paladin 1 {Init +0, Perception +4, HP 10/10}

Camris will attack a goblin if one is in reach.

MWAH-HA-HAAA

RetconThe archer, shaken by the sight of the ferocious bogeyman of light, misses Camris.

This map is still valid. Camris has an unconscious goblin at his feet and another 5' away.

Male Halfling Paladin 1 {Init +0, Perception +4, HP 10/10}

Camris moves (double move) forward to stand next to the goblin in the back and yells, "Yield, foul beast!"

Intimidate (maybe?): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8

Male Halfling Paladin 1 {Init +0, Perception +4, HP 10/10}

It sounds more like a squeaky balloon than yelling.

MWAH-HA-HAAA

The doughty halfling scampers over the two unconscious goblins, perhaps squashing them slightly (move to K8 to avoid AoO, I assume?) and threatens the archer, who gnashes her pointy teeth at him.

"You right size for dinner!"

Damien does indeed get another turn, if that was confusing. It seemed like he had just acted because of posting order, but the others went quickly through Round 2, so Damien has his Round 2 action. Camris just took his Round 3.

MWAH-HA-HAAA

Amadeo steps up to the unconscious goblin in the doorway. "That spell won't keep these monsters asleep forever." With a grimace, he raises his mace and brings it down upon the skull of the toothy menace.

5' step to K3 (vacated by Camris) and coup de grace the goblin. Auto-crit.

Mace crit damage: 2d8 ⇒ (7, 5) = 12
Fort Save DC 22: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13

The blow dashes the goblin's brains across the pavement. Amadeo turns away in disgust.

Sorry, had the wrong 'A' name at first.

Human

Slidell notes Araxus' look and nods sympathetically.

"Better than what they would do for us." He says sympathetically.

He also raises his cane/club, and with a push of magical will, sends it flying to bash the other sleeping goblin solidly before returning to his hand.

Using Hand of Apprentice power to attack other sleeping goblin. (W/ move to see through doorway first)

Presuming the attack auto hits? Is it also an auto-crit or do I need to roll? Here is (crit) club dmg: 2d6 ⇒ (3, 1) = 4

Slidell is probably not as callous as he speaks, seeing as how his magical club strike was less than dead-on. He sniffs.

MWAH-HA-HAAA
Coup de Grace wrote:
As a full-round action, you can use a melee weapon to deliver a coup de grace (pronounced “coo day grahs”) to a helpless opponent. You can also use a bow or crossbow, provided you are adjacent to the target.

If you use Hand of the Apprentice, you can make an attack, but it is a normal attack, not a coup de grace. You have to make a ranged attack roll using your INT modifier in place of DEX. Damage is 1 dmg die plus STR. To what square do you move?

Human

Ack! Sorry, flashback to 1ed, where any attack on a helpless/unconscious was an auto-kill! ;P (Very helpful/harmful in the Gold Box TSR D&D games!) :)

Let's slide up to K2, and Slidell (magically) tosses the club,...:
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10

MWAH-HA-HAAA

Despite its being unconscious, the limp form of the prone little goblin is tough to hit from outside the room, and Slidell's club flies wide. It magically sails back to Slidell's hand before it can strike Camris, smacking back into his palm with a comforting thwack.

6/9 Max | Init +1, Perception +5

I feel kind of dumb...I realized only after seeing the new map that I put Damien in the sludge at J2...I completely misread that old map. I wanted him at J3, lol. He was going to fight this round. Bah! I will have an action for him here shortly. Sorry to be the hold up, sort of.

6/9 Max | Init +1, Perception +5

Damien rushes into the room still "aflame" and bellowing something about goblin livers tasting best when eaten while their owners are alive.

He fixes the goblin archer with a mean eye and sneers in an awful manner.

Intimidate: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (19) + 9 = 28

It's Super Effective!

Mental Trauma Damage Roll: 1d6 ⇒ 4 <-Just for fun.

This should land him somewhere like L7.

MWAH-HA-HAAA

With the size difference between Damien and the poor little gobbo, that's 34 total for a 19 difference, extending the demoralizing fear to five rounds - assuming she lives that long...

Damien's flaming form streaks into the room shouting, and the goblin nearly drops its little dogslicer. She juggles the perforated metal for a few seconds, then takes a slash at Camris.

Attack of the Dogslicer!: 1d20 ⇒ 6

Cringing back into the corner, the goblin waves its dogslicer frantically in desperate defense.

"You ambushed the wrong party, pest," Araxus says with a sneer.

Are we planning on leaving them or finishing them off?

Human

From where he stands, Slidell's usually pleasant demeanor turns dark.

"Indeed. They did. Again." He raises his hand and fires a small dart of blazing light from his fingertips with a short word.

Casting Daze (O lvl, Will save DC:14) on standing goblin. Ranged Att vs touch AC:
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18
Daze effects:

Spoiler:
Dazed Condition: The creature is unable to act normally. A dazed creature can take no actions, but has no penalty to AC.

I'm gonna hope that hits, :)

EDIT: No to hit roll, just re-read the spell. Goblin needs to make Will save vs DC 14, sorry

As the goblin wobbles from the cantrip's effect, Slidell turns towards Araxus to help steady him once more.

"Finish them. We need to leave before any more show up." He says over his shoulder. Coldly.

MWAH-HA-HAAA

Will save - shaken: 1d20 - 1 - 2 ⇒ (19) - 1 - 2 = 16

The little green menace grits its pointy teeth and snarls.

"Stupid weak humie magic! Go 'way, humies!"

Damien looks at the terrified little thing before them. Stepping up, he swings his rapier almost nonchalantly. It almost looks like he isn't attempting to strike true.

Unempathetic: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12

Possibly lethal damage?: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2 <- Ha! I guess not...

"It won't do to let the Hellknights have a prize from which to torture information." With his empty hand's forefinger, he taps his cheek while holding his chin. "Ironically, we may even be able to deny our favorite law-abiding enforcers knowledge of the existence of these gobbo pests. If our friendly acid loving swarm of insects is still on our trail, I would imagine they might stop to feed on something still warm...and not running away."

His eyes don't leave the goblin archer's trembling form, and if his swing has not yet caused enough damage to end the pathetic sewer dweller's life, Damien prepares a hopefully more fatal strike.

Male Human Conjurer (Infernal Binder) 1 {Init +2, HP 1/8, AC 12}

Araxus spits some blood from his mouth and regards the scene weak but determined. "Then finish them off and let's get out of here."

Delaying. It won't do for me to step in only to fall unconscious immediately.

Human

Slidell looks askance at the still-standing Goblin. He looks at his fingertips, then back to the goblin.

"Well,... That's not right!" He murmurs.

"I thought I had that fixed!"

MWAH-HA-HAAA

Red eyes blazing, the little monster screeches like a rusty gate as the burning man jabs a rapier her way. She ducks under the thrust to avoid being skewered, snapping her teeth in fear.

Amadeo stretches his long legs to step over the dead goblin pile so he can finish off the other sleeper in the hallway.

5' step to K4, coup de grace.
Mace crit: 2d8 ⇒ (3, 1) = 4
Fort save DC 14: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13

He neatly cracks the football-shaped head with his mace, not causing nearly the mess as the last one. The goblin shivers and stops breathing.

Male Halfling Paladin 1 {Init +0, Perception +4, HP 10/10}

Camris regards the goblin archer with a bit of sadness, suspecting that its fate was inevitable. He swings his sword at the creature...dispiritedly.

Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

6/9 Max | Init +1, Perception +5

Damien arches an eyebrow at the halfling's lackluster attempt to save himself and his comrades the threat of leaving someone alive who could oust their cabal's identity before they even became a cabal.

In his mind, Damien muses. Surely even in his "goodness", Camris can see that dispatching this evil creature - armed at that - would be for the greater good.

Necessary self-preservation: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11

Ugh, Damien finds himself thinking. Already the paladin ruins my enjoyment of these little moments.

MWAH-HA-HAAA

Ducking and weaving, the little green villain attempts to climb over the chest and flee out the door, but she stumbles in her fear.

Acrobatics: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

Damien and Camris get an AoO. The gobbo may not make it as far as is shown on the map if they hit. Please register AoO before starting the next round, because we may be out of combat by Araxus' turn.

Seeing the little goblin overcome its fear and make a break for it, Damien quickly attempts to stop the escape with a slash of his rapier.

Reflexively: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16

Success Damage?: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

Assuming the goblin survives from his grazing strike, Damien yells, "Araxus! Quick! Before it escapes!"

Male Halfling Paladin 1 {Init +0, Perception +4, HP 10/10}

"Master Araxus looks pretty bad, so I don't know if he'll be much help, Master Damien," Camris blurts as he takes another swing at the goblin.

Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

MWAH-HA-HAAA

Damien opens up a gash right through the goblin's armor. It screeches as it tries to scramble away past Camris.

Male Halfling Paladin 1 {Init +0, Perception +4, HP 10/10}

At this rate, I'll crit something in another 18 rounds.

MWAH-HA-HAAA

Seriously, what is with these rolls? I don't know if this is real or not, but I've taken to rolling 'd20' instead of '1d20' and I swear I get better results.

Spoiler:
Yes, I'm aware it's all in my head.

MWAH-HA-HAAA

Amadeo steps forward with the Mace of Mercy, but has difficulty striking a goblin that gnashes and writhes.

Human

Still lurking, back hurts if I sit up too long. Or lay back, or lay down, or walk, or stand,... Stoopid surgery,... Whose brilliant idea was it to go through the FRONT of a person to reach the kidney in the BACK?!? ;P

Hearing the screeching, mad scrabble of the goblin trying to escape, Slidell sighs and hefts his walking stick.

"Really? The little beggars still insist on ruining our stroll? How very rude." He drawls in his more typical upper-crust accent.

Slidell turns, and casually tosses his heavy cane with a raised eyebrow. It spins, then flies straight towards the goblin, and returns to it's master's hand in the blink of an eye.

Hand of apprentice(Club) to Hit 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
Dmg: 1d6 ⇒ 2

Possible crit confirm 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14

"Now, be quiet you appallingly wrinkled little gnome badly in need of dental hygiene. The grownups are talking."

MWAH-HA-HAAA

The goblin's eyes cross, following the flight of Slidell's club straight into her face. Her rusty shriek trails off as she tumbles limp to the ground.

Out of combat!

By the light of Damien's spell, he and Camris can see the rather snug little room clearly. There are heaps of hay liberally sprinkled with the bones of (generally) small creatures. The room is damp but not nearly as wet as the sewer corridor proper. It was clearly a maintenance closet of some sort.

There are four goblin bodies here, one still breathing.

There is a small mouldering chest.

There are heaps of damp, stinky hay.

The door to the corridor seems quite solid.

Slidell and Araxus can hear the sound of the mass of jellied flea-creatures diminishing into the distance, apparently having found other prey. They can see a torch farther down the corridor, but not more than a few feet beyond it.

Amadeo cradles his charred but breathing companion and steps further into the room. "I think we need a breather and to gather our resources before we go much further. Is anyone hurt?"

MAP!

Human

Slidell nods, looking around the chamber, his nose wrinkling in distaste.
He raises a lip at the small spot of blood on his cane, and wipes it off with a handkerchief.

"I concur. Who knew that a stroll through the sewers would prove perilous as well as odious? I am also fairly certain that we do NOT want the torch bearers yonder to find us, either. Drag the bodies in and lock the door? Or run and hope we avoid any more,... unpleasant vermin?"

MWAH-HA-HAAA

PS: The torch was visible all during the fight and has not seemed to move.

Male Human Conjurer (Infernal Binder) 1 {Init +2, HP 1/8, AC 12}

"Hurt? You could say that," says Araxus, clearly at death's door. "I have to stop opening strange doors." He coughs and staggers into the little room. With a gasp, he slumps down against one of the cold stone walls.

MWAH-HA-HAAA

"Good thing we have these, then." Amadeo pulls a potion of cure light from his belt pouch and hands it to Araxus, then steps over the pile of dead goblins and closes the door. He looks at the one snoring on the stone floor and then at his mace. "Kill it too? It's a goblin. It's like doing a good deed."

Your choice. You want my horrible roll for the cure light, or to try your own luck?

Male Human Conjurer (Infernal Binder) 1 {Init +2, HP 1/8, AC 12}

"I wouldn't miss it," Araxus says coldly of the slumbering goblin. He consumes the offered potion. "Many thanks."

1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

MWAH-HA-HAAA

"So be it." The tiefling shrugs and brings his mace cracking down on the goblin's large and ugly skull.

Mace crit: 2d8 ⇒ (4, 5) = 9
Fort save DC 19: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19

Male Human Conjurer (Infernal Binder) 1 {Init +2, HP 1/8, AC 12}

"How long can we afford to shelter here?" Araxus asks, some if his strength returned. "I cannot imagine we would be well to miss our rendezvous."
