My computer is still in the shop, and I'm using my dad's for right now. :) There isn't much I can do. But keep a stiff upper lip, lads. haha!

Hi - just to check, Rekkenmark is an academy for officers? Since I'd imagined Karola begin an enlisted person going into officer training, having distinguished herself in the war. E.g, I chose Favoured in House (Karnathi military) for my Eberron feat. But I can change any of that if needed.

Usually, Favored in House relates to one of the Dragonmarked Houses, but I can make an exception. And yes, that works out well.

Sorry, sorry! Still getting used to clicking that.

I like Eberron more than the Forgotten Realms. Though the realms fits in Harn's Cosmology more. Eberron could also be Sherem, for a second thought. :)

I am doing much better honestly, I cannot nap anymore so might as well do a post. Don't worry, the welcoming darkness of sleep will call me soon.

what is the protocol for this sort of thing?
For instance, would I be within my rights to use magic to deal with this problem? If no, what if it was nonlethal and not a form of mind control (as that is nonlethal but very looked down upon usually)?

I do believe it's alright to use magic. If it's not destructive.

I want to give the others a chance to react. How far away is he? Would I be able to get there with a move or a charge?
Also...that smiley face makes real uncomfortable lol.

Hi - if you put your details into the classes/levels box, they show up at the top of your posts which is quite useful for AC etc, cause then EJ will be able to roll damage straightaway which is convenient.

I just picked up Magic of Eberron, today. Nice little book, I'll have to give it 4 stars. :D Anyhow, I think I need to pick up Dragons of Eberron next.

Hey, GM, if I can make a suggestion, can we use block initiative for the next combat? It should help speed things up.
Male Human Psion 10/Atlanteologist 10
sure. I can do that.
Garra intiative: 1d20 ⇒ 1
Ilbryn Initiative: 1d20 ⇒ 1
Something like this, right?

Female Human Slayer 1 HP: 9/11 NL: 0 | AC 16/13/13 | F +2, R +5, W+1 | Per:+5, Init: +5 | Arrows: 39 | Daggers: 4
Not really. Block initiative is where you divide the PCs and their opponents into blocks. Players within a block have their actions resolved in the order that they post.
So, say you have a party of four going against a group of goblins lead by two hobgoblins. You'd roll for the PCs, the goblins, and hobgoblins, like this:
PC 1: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
PC 2: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
PC 3: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
PC 4: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
Goblins: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
Hobgoblins: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19
Roll off PC 4: 1d20 ⇒ 8
Roll off Goblins: 1d20 ⇒ 8
Roll off PC 4: 1d20 ⇒ 8
Roll off Goblins: 1d20 ⇒ 19
The Hobgoblins and Goblins won initiative, so they go first, then the PCs. So if the PCs post in the following order:
PC 3
PC 1
PC 2
PC 4
Then you'd resolve PC 3's actions, then PC 1's, then PC 2's, and then PC 4's.
Now, if PC 4 had won the roll off with the goblins, then the initiative order would look like this:
Hobgoblins
PC 4
Goblins
PCs 1-3
With PCs 1-3 resolving their actions in the order that they post.
This is the most common method for using Block initiative that I have seen. It helps keep the game's pace up and simplifies things for everyone, since players that post after a player post can assume that player's action has occurred, and GMs don't have to try rearranging actions and figuring out what happens when someone's action becomes invalid. The only thing that the players have to account for is their target going down since when a player posts, they should know where everyone is and what's going on.
Now, I do something even simpler in my games. I divide the monsters into groups, but all of the PCs use their highest initiative roll to determine when they go. This can be brutal for the PCs, but it can definitely make the fight more interesting right off the bat if a couple of them are hit hard before they can act. So in the above example, not much changes, but if PC 4 had won the roll off, all of the PCs would go between the Hobgoblins and the Goblins.
Does that make sense?
Male Human Psion 10/Atlanteologist 10
kind of. I'll try it from now on.
Male Human Psion 10/Atlanteologist 10
Guys, if your character dies and you want to play something tied to the Draconic Prophecy; I have the Pathfinder Player Companion: Legacy of Dragons book and I'll be allowing material from that book to be used.

Dr Strange is easily the best superhero movie this year. Probably my favorite since Guardians of the Galaxy.

Yup. Once the potion is identified, I think our little group will be able to decide what we're going to do next. I'm going to laugh if it is just a potion of cure light wounds or alchemist fire. :P

I'll check out Dr. Strange in a week or two. I dislike going to the theaters to see movies that just opened, because the theaters are packed and I don't like sitting in packed theaters. Too many inconsiderate people, and more of them means they're sitting closer.
It's worth seeing in 3D if you can - look up where the sweet spot for your theatre is and try to sit there.
If you're too close - I.e. In front of where the camera was filming the scene the 3D image overlapped in such a way that the solution should be behind you. Your eyes can see it - its projected on a flat screen, after all - but you brain can't interpret it correctly.
If you're too far away it might as well all be flat.
M Humanborn
I have a hard time with 3d movies because i wear glasses. the 3D glasses that fit over regular glasses are uncomfortable as hell, and to remedy that i bought the clip-on kind. Well, as it turns out, the glasses made for one brand of 3D movie don't work with other branded 3D movies.
that, coupled with the fact that everyone tries to sit in the very center of the theater, means i can never really get in that sweet spot without sitting next to everyone.
