Kyra PFS |
Kyra smirks Indeed. Let us give them a warm welcome.
Right before our uninvited guests arrive, Kyra will cast the following:
T-5 rounds)Protection from Evil on Fung Xi (4 mins)
T-4 rounds)Bull Strength on Al Suresh (4 mins)
T-3 rounds)Bless on all party members that remembered to stay for it before running off.(4 mins)
T-2 rounds)Summon Monster 1- Eagle (1 round to cast + 4 rounds)
T-1 rounds)Spiritual Weapon (4 rounds)
Until they enemies are close enough to warrant spellcasting, Kyra will sling stones out an arrow slit or window.
If at some point our foes are climbing at all, she will reverse order and have the spiritual weapon and Eagle harry the climbers.
Fung Xi |
Picking his way past the traps laid out through the back of the manor, committing their positions to memory, then heading to the lighthouse, scrambles up to the top to see what kind of organization they are employing, especially when they get closer to the house. Say within a few minutes.
Al Suresh Khalida |
Nope, we leave the manor to defend itself. The barred doors (+ furnitures behind it) with the bear trap just behind it will hold them for a bit. You are to be with me in the Lighthouse 1st floor, just up of the stairs. Valeros will meet us there when the invaders come inside through the open unguarded door on the ground floor. The idea if the be 3 vs 1 on top of the stairs so that we can mow them down fast. The rest of the party is safe behind in the corridor leading into the manor. Should the main door be breach then Ezren or Kyra can light the oil on top of the North staircase inside the manor. While we either try to punch through the door of the lighthouse or trough the South staircase in the manor (after closing and barring the go between door)
Fung Xi |
I am confused, the secret stairway is on the bottom floor of the manor itself. If we are usptairs and in the Lighthouse, we have to fight our way to the secret stairway. My understanding was that the Lighthouse door was blocked up, with the oil barrel at the top of THAT stair, and we would be at the back door of the manor. So that we would have easy access to the secret stair in the meeting hall.
Al Suresh Khalida |
a few things: is we fight in the manor in the meeting hall in the ground floor the secret stair is indeed here. but once we need to retreat is any assailant are still there then they will see us open it and just proceed after us. Thus rendering the secret aspect of the route a moot point. Second the door between the manor and the lighthouse is just a simple door (even trap with oil and some furniture it won't last longer than a few rounds. And therefore enemy will come via the 2 staircase and swarming us from 3 sides. Third the main door to the manor is of reinforced wood with a bar. therefore it can take a longer punishment before breaking. Fourth the sniping position is on top of lighthouse. Therefore the plan is to divide our enemy apply our full strength on that side. then retreat if needed. the traps and door will buy us 2-3 rounds of peace at the minimum. During that time we strike at those who are inside the manor. since we will be coming down from South stairs with our 2 main fighters leading the charge and the casters safely inside the staircase. At that point some enemy might want to surround us. But the protection of the staircase means we can defend our cleric and our wizard against a superior enemy with just us 3. While me make our breach through the secret stairs.
Fung Xi |
Ok, I see your point. I was thinking that the oil fire wouldn't block the back door, but it may keep them at bay long enough for us to get to the secret stair without being seen. Got it!
So after trying to get a better idea of their tactical approach, Fung scrambles down to the 1st floor of the lighthouse. I am going to assume that a majority of the clutter in the lighthouse is removed because it was used to barricade windows and doors. How about we start at the door, so we both can attack them as they come in, then if we need to make a retreat, start up the stairs?
Kyra PFS |
I will be at live PFS tonite. Our once monthly gathering, whoo hoo! So my posting will be sparse. I'm agreeable to the battle plans of the boys. I've posted my buffs above. Again, if our foes are climbing I'll call the Eagle and the Spiritual Weapon to harry them while they climb. Otherwise I'll summon them one at a time once combat begins. After buffing, Kyra will close and swing her scimitar.
DaWay |
Slowly you watch, what can only be described as an army aproach, one by one you watch your defense settle and traps triggered. The golden league has dozens of conscript troops. They slowly where down your defense until a mere handful are forced to make the long march up green mile to meet you at the staircase.
Initiative and actions please.
Fung Xi |

Assuming that Kyra was able to do the blessing and whatnot...
Waits by the door, until one of the League soldiers sees him, then backs out of view and heads up the stairs behind Al Suresh, so that he can kick at an opponent from above.

can our archer up on the light tower can tell us as many do we have to engage right now and is they are coming in wave or all at once?
Valeros Pregen |
Initiative 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Up on the lighthouse tower, Valeros rains arrows down on the invaders, exchanging jokes with Ezren, though there is little mirth in his voice. When the time comes, he sets his bow down and descends to join Al Suresh and Fung Xi on the stairs. Rubbing his shoulder, he quips, "This arm is made for swinging a blade, not for being an archer." He draws his Longsword, which shines softly with a light all it's own. He draws a finely-honed short sword in his other hand. "Here they come, lads."
DaWay |
They are coming in waves, finally the first breach the defenses and encroach upon your territory in the lighthouse. Seven human men of Tian descent wield their battle axes as any veteran would.

Exren? Kyra?
The conscripts all break trying to group as much they can, much like a rugby team moving the ball. They bring their weapons up to defensive positions, all save one how attacks Fung Xi.
attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10
Fung Xi feels the air breeze by his cheek as he realizes that he just narrowly escaped a debilitating strike.
Fung Xi |
Slipping back to avoid the incoming strike, Fung kicks at the inside of the assailant's knee and following up with a back-handed tea cup strike.
Flurry of Blows (Attack 1): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17; damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Flurry of Blows (Attack 2): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14; damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
I was including the bonus for bless but not +1 for high ground, if I was able to get to the stairs before he caught up to me.
Ezren PFS |
Init. 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18
Ezren starts peppering the opposing forces with his wand of magic missles as soon as they came into range.
im not sure how many shots I could get off before they close completely, but I assume a couple at least. Wand is fully charged at the start of the battle.
Damage One 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Damage two 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Al Suresh Khalida |
DM i don't know how familiar you are with magus so i'll label things to the best i can
All suresh will do a full round action Spell combat + Arcane strike (swift). His first attack will be a (pre casted )spellstrike Shocking grasp
Precasted Scimitar Spellstrike Shocking grasp : 1d20 + 11 - 2 ⇒ (19) + 11 - 2 = 281d6 + 8 + 4d6 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 8 + (1, 4, 2, 6) + 4 = 29 add +3 to hit if enemy is in metal armor
Crit Conf : 1d20 + 11 - 2 ⇒ (10) + 11 - 2 = 191d6 + 8 + 4d6 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 8 + (6, 5, 3, 5) + 4 = 37 add +3 to hit if enemy is in metal armor
hehe a potential 66 crit total damage
Al suresh will then do his other action from spell combat => casting a spell if enemy is not dead he can Aoo as the spell isn't casted defensively if the first enemy is dead Al suresh will 5ft step toward the next one
Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Spell casted: Rimed FrostBite
Touch attack Rimed Frostbite: 1d20 + 11 - 2 ⇒ (4) + 11 - 2 = 131d6 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
the 1d6+4 is non lethal damage
if it hits the bad guy. Al suresh receives a free intimidate check to shaken his opponent. A rim frostbite spell impose a: Fatigued (no charge no run and takes a –2 penalty to Strength and Dexterity) + Entangle condition (moves at half speed, cannot run or charge, and takes a –2 penalty on all attack rolls and a –4 penalty to Dexterity)
free intimidate: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22 Shaken (–2 penalty on all attack rolls, weapon damage rolls, saving throws, skill checks, and ability checks. The duration = the non lethal damage
Current AC 23
Al Suresh Khalida |
well i am a bit of a different kind of magus. on top of regular magus i also Debuff my ennemis .... with the shaken + entangle+fatigued condition :). ps did the crit confirmed? and are they all wearing metal armor (don't know why i rolled a perception to get that info. just out of habit i guess)?
Kyra PFS |
Sorry, I posted earlier that I was out for the night. Back now.
Initiative: 1d20 ⇒ 17
As above:
Group is Blessed.
Fung Xi has Prot f. Evil
Al Suresh has Bear's Strength
I will have Spiritual Weapon up first (when that expires I will summon an Eagle). The lighthouse is lit so we humans can see, yes? So I will direct my Spiritual Scimitar to attack Fung's attacker. 140' range.
spiritual scimitar attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19
damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
And Kyra herself will move up. Make some room, will you boys? I want a bit of the action.
Valeros Pregen |
Valeros hops down to the floor next to Al Suresh, not even glancing at the charred corpse the Magus left of the first attacker. "You poor bastards just didn't know who you were dealing with, eh?" he says as he begins a series of deadly swings with his blades, starting with the Longsword.
Assuming I don't get to 5ft step just yet.

Kyra lets the Dawnflower take over her scimitar and it flies from her hand and strikes the conscript. A flash of red, seeps through the shoulder of his armor. (15 damage)
Fung seeing the opponent wheeling due to the strikes he already has received round kicks the inside of his knee and delivers a devastating backhanded strike (28 damage)
Valeros moves to finish the first conscript and thrust his longsword through the mans belly, you can see it pierce out his back near his shoulders. With a couple of gurgles the man drops lifeless on the floor. (dead)
Al in a masterful strike moves up and slices the next conscript across the face. An arc of lightning appears followed buy a blast from his finger tips and the man drops his body still arcing with lightning. (dead)
The conscripts, obviously more feared of their employer than you move to close ranks. The next one raises his axe and attempts to bring it down on our very own Valeros

1d8 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
