Continuing along the trail...The snow becomes increasingly deep in this part of the forest, where a windswept gully carves a path through a tree-covered ridge. A soft cascade of snow falls from an overhead branch, hissing softly as it strikes the ground.

Because of the deep snowdrifts in the gully, entering a snow-covered square requires 4 squares of movement.

Perception DC26:
A serpent-like creature awaits in the snowbank. The snow adjusts slightly as it coils ready to strike out at an unsuspecting passerby.

I am estimating that this should increase his movement speed to 5 squares. Would I be correct?

I don't think he's really drinking enough to hinder his ability to fight or think, but if you want to give him some sort of penalty, let me know.

I'm not sure if the creature is considered flat-footed or not, since it's prepared an ambush. the 1d6+1 is sneak attack damage.
