Lostariel

The eagle will just attack blindly on whoever the enemy is right? If so,
The eagle redirects its attention to Rokhar,
Bite: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10
Damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Lostariel will let go the bolt aimed at Rokhar,
Ranged Attack: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 7
That is if Rokhar is visible if not,
Detect Magic, maybe Rokhar is wearing something magical.
Baltazar Swiftou

Baltazar will take a quick look at the table for anything that could be used to throw at Rokhar to show his location (Ink, Dust, Snow or others)
DaWay

Lostriel and Korlungr both see Rokhar at the window through their various methods however there seems to be another problem. It seems the rest of the bandits who were coming for dinner were alerted to the noise of the battle upstairs. Currently there are about 8 raiders gathering their weapons ready to launch an assault.
Boram Sandyfoot
|
If Lostariel and Korlungr indicate his location, Boram will attempt to bring him down with his longspear.
Attack (Longspear): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18
Damage (Longspear): 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Miss Chance: 1d100 ⇒ 17
Lostariel
|
Lostariel tries to pinpoint the location of Rokhar from the aura that she detected,
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
"Enemies from below, it might not be wise to tackle them head on for we are outnumbered, let's bottleneck them in the hallway."
Boram Sandyfoot
|
Boram hefts his last two bombs for the day. "If we're just going to wait for them, then by all means, let them come. Back against the walls, to allow many of them to enter the room. If they stay in the doorway, we pelt them with bolts, stones, and arrows. If they come in, I use these to lay waste to their numbers." Boram moves to the corner of the room opposite the door and readies his sling staff.
Readied attack. Trigger is any bandit showing themselves in the doorway.
Attack (Sling Staff, PBS, Bless): 1d20 + 3 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 3 + 1 + 1 = 19
Damage (Sling Staff, PBS): 1d6 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 2 + 1 = 7

Baltazar moves to the window and hopes Rokhar's footprints give up his location:
Shortbow: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 221d4 ⇒ 4
DaWay

Baltazar sees the trail of blood from Boram's longspear as well as foot prints in the snow. Baltazar manages to get a shot off that connects with the leader of the raiders (11 damage)
Boram drops the spear and takes out his slingstaff and moves in order to attack the bandits below, while they are gathering their bows a bomb firmly connects with one of them.
One more round of prep.
Baltazar Swiftou
|
Successful, he tries once more to hit the fleeing invisible man:
Shortbow: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 6 + 1 = 261d4 ⇒ 4
He jumps from the window to follow the man, rolling to avoid the falling damage:
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21
I've added some soldiers to the map. If you can, please just move them around DaWay.

Oh this google drawing is sooo funny...

Kelvor drops his earthbreaker and takes a shot with his bow.
Longbow: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Boram Sandyfoot

Boram wouldn't have wasted a bomb for just one of them, so I'm hoping you meant 'bullet'
Boram takes a moment and pulls out another flask, takes a deep breath, and gulps it down quickly. His face screws up and he sticks out his tongue in disgust. "I really need to work on the flavor..."

Rokhar continues running.
The soldiers attack Lostariel
1 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 31d6 ⇒ 2
21d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 211d6 ⇒ 5
31d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 71d6 ⇒ 3
and Boram
41d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 111d6 ⇒ 4
51d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 121d6 ⇒ 6
61d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 121d6 ⇒ 4
The seventh is stabbed in the back by the cook.
Baltazar Swiftou
|
Not certain if he is hitting or not, Baltazar keeps shoting at Rokhar:
Shortbow: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 6 + 1 = 27 Please add ranged penalty if more than 60ft.
Damage: 1d4 + 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + (5) + 1 = 8 Sneak since it's running
Confirm critical: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 6 + 1 = 20
Aditional damage: 2d4 ⇒ (4, 4) = 8
Boram Sandyfoot

Wait, what? We're on the second floor, and in the room where we were fighting Rokhar, right? Boram was in the room, at the corner furthest from the door, waiting for the archers to come to the door. That's what I posted, anyway. The readied action was for when an assailant showed themselves in the doorway.
Anyway, I suppose that if we are positioned the way we are on the map, then I guess it's bombs away...
Standard action: Throw bomb at a cluster of enemies.
Attack (Bomb, Mutagen, PBS): 1d20 + 4 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 4 + 2 + 1 = 12
Direction (1 Square, if missed, 1=S, 2=SW, ...8=SE): 1d8 ⇒ 6
Damage (Bomb, PBS): 1d6 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 3 + 1 = 7 (and 5 splash damage to everyone within 5')

Maybe the map is making it harder and we can go back to the "I flank" "I shoot" "Color spray" all of them cause, seriously, we need more info to make that work.
What say you?
Lostariel
|
I was thinking the same thing, since the original plan was to stay inside the room and we can bottleneck them there but then I got hit by 3 raiders that's why I'm wondering. I was actually planning to summon an eagle outside the room once they are upstairs to provide flanking for the melee.
Kelvor of the Shundar-Quah
|
I thought we were bottlenecking them, too. Can we halt and perhaps get a sitrep?
DaWay
|
Baltazar shoots an arrow throuw the leg of Rokhar, who immediately goes down to one knee. He throws his weapons on the ground and raises his hands I surrender. Don't kill me.
I stated they were gathering shortbows. No one stated they were moving into the room and the pieces were not moved. There for the attacks.
Borams bottle bounces off one of the chests of the raiders and explodes north east of them. Seriously injuring two of the guards.
At this point I will pause for you to think about what you want to do. Lostariel and Boram you are standing on a staircase with a railing not in a hallway. Are there any more questions?
Boram Sandyfoot
|
Well, I did put Boram's actions in a post, even if I didn't move him on the map, but whatever. Rather than harp on things that are apparently too late to correct, I guess we just move forward. Boram will take his move action and move into the room, furthest corner from the door. The plan to bottleneck the bandits at the doorway is a solid one, I say we stick to it.
I believe Lostariel also has a move action available, if we're able to retcon that she didn't take a 5' move before casting (they're armed with shortbows, so couldn't take attacks of opportunity anyway).
Benevolence_
|
Presuming the 3 healthy guards are still fighting Benevolence will move to engage them slashing out with her No-Dachi as she approaches.
Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16
Damage: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
Baltazar Swiftou

Baltazar jumps through the window and moves toward Rokhar, tying the man and holding one side of the rope, to avoid him from disappearing again.
Sorry folks, I've got to leave you alone in that fight, Rokhar cannot escape.

Kelvor of the Shundar-Quah

Kelvor steps forward into the hallway, bringing his earthbreaker with him.
"Benevolence, allow me to block the hallway, while you stand backup to me," he says.
He readies his earthbreaker to smash the first guard face he sees.
Kelvor will gladly act as meatshield, if somebody can support him from behind with healing, as necessary.
Kelvor of the Shundar-Quah
|
"If we have Rokhar, let us question him about the possible whereabouts of the esteemed kidnapped lady," suggests Kelvor as he looks about at the downed guards.
Kelvor of the Shundar-Quah
|
"Lostariel, do you have any magic to suck the information we need from his head? Or perhaps something that will make him compliant to our questions?" asks the Shoanti warrior.
His burned face turns pitilessly towards Rokhar.
"There is much blood here already. My earthbreaker could break him, too, but crushing an informant's feet and hands one by one is messy and I do not wish to slip in the gore like last time and fall into a fire again."
He rubs his burned and scarred face for effect.
"Do not worry, Lady. If necessary, I would remove him from your presence before beginning my ministrations. I would not wish to upset your delicate stomach with the crunching of bones and screams of agony."
Kelvor's voice is flat and all-business. No hyperbole or emotion in his delivery, just... the necessities of an unfortunate business. He projects seriousness and matter-of-factness as he discusses the mutilation and torture of Rokhar in front of the man. As Rokhar may know, the Shoanti, rightly or wrongly, are perceived by the Inner Sea peoples, especially in Taldor, of being merciless and without pity in their doings.
With his back turned to Rokhar, Kelvor winks at Lostariel.
This all assumes Rokhar is conscious. If he's not, Kelvor will wait until he is conscious. Rest of team, especially Lostariel, your roleplay of the intimidate would be useful in aiding me.
Boram Sandyfoot
|
Boram moves to the door. "I'll have no part in this. Better to kill him and get it over with - I'd not have an enemy still breathing at my back." With that, he turns and quietly walks down the stairs, longspear held at the ready. He tries to find any sign of the kidnapping victim.
