Most of the goods stored in this room are mundane and not worth much money.
You do see a collection of 15 ancient bottles of honeyed wine worth 25 gp a piece.
A couple of minor things do catch your eye.
Roll Knowledge (Religion) DC 15, Knowledge (Nobility) DC 20 and Knowledge (Engineering) DC 25.
You recognize a statue, the Auroric Flame Mother, a representation of the elemenal lord Ymeri thought lost to the ages. It is easily worth 940gp.
You've found the Three Rivers Codex a generalogical history of Wati's founding families that you could sell for 1190 gp.
You recognize a broken old water clock as being the handiwork of Pheros, a pioneer of engineering and mechanics in Ancient Osirion - the clock could be sold to a collector for 1500 gp.
Rameth the Delver |
1d20 + 8 + 1d6 ⇒ (3) + 8 + (6) = 17 religion
1d20 + 2 + 1d6 ⇒ (14) + 2 + (4) = 20 nobility
1d20 + 2 + 1d6 ⇒ (14) + 2 + (3) = 19 engineering boo i know there is something worth money in here!
Auric the Flame mother. Probably worth a bit of coin, and that is the three Rivers codex worth a chunk of change as well.
Rameth puts the book in his bag, and makes a note of the statue to be removed later.
Rameth the Delver |
Everyone alright, and one need to use the wand here?
Remember we have two CLW wands, and should use those before our spell OOC
Rameth the Delver |
1d20 + 10 ⇒ (14) + 10 = 24 tp appraise the vestments
do I have the impression that there is something else of value in the room?
Lets move on! Anyone else needing hits of the wand just give it a roll and let me know.
DM pick your favorite exit from the room and then we will take the other one!
DMummy |
Albus, there are no remains connected to the vestments.
Rameth, you do not. The question is are you arrogant enough to believe that you're the only one capable of recognizing items of value or if you're humble enough to believe you missed something.
I like the doors to the east.
Rameth the Delver |
jerk! Lets go south
here is the question, did Rameth getting a 19 on engineering clue him into the idea that it might be worth something? Roll some dice and let me know. I don't think Rameth is arrogant, uncouth and greedy but not arrogant
Rameth checks the door for traps and moves past it assuming it is not trapped
1d20 + 14 ⇒ (18) + 14 = 32 perched for traps
DMummy |
Let's say that since you got a 19 out of 25 there's a 76% chance you would identify an item as possibly valuable even if you weren't sure precisely what it was. Rolling low, so 77+ is a complete miss on the item(s) you could identify.
Chance to Recognize oddity: 1d100 ⇒ 30
Rameth, you recognize a water clock as being both old and unusual, but you're not certain if it's a simple curio or something more. The auctioneer at the Canny Jackal may know someone who can tell you more - it's fragile and weighs about 25 pounds.
On Perception - there are no traps, are you checking the doors via perception and then walking in as soon as you determine the door is neither locked or trapped?
Rameth the Delver |
Rameth moves the clock near the statue to be grabbed later
this is worth something I think we will get Ibrahim to figure it out
Rameth pushes on throigh the door
DMummy |
Rameth, as you open the door and walk in you recognize the pungent smell of a terrible gas left from the beakers, cauldrons, and other alchemical equipment crowd several tables in this cramped room. A decomposing body sprawls across the floor, its face concealed behind a brass funerary mask.
Make a DC 15 Reflex Save to jump back before you are affected by the gas. If you fail the save, you take 1d3 ⇒ 2 points of Wisdom damage and you are confused.
Rameth the Delver |
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26
Rameth hops back like a ninja
well isn't that delightful
1d20 + 11 - 1 ⇒ (7) + 11 - 1 = 17 Lcheny to Id the gas and determine how to disperse it
DMummy |
You can't identify the gas by name because it appears to be a noxious mixture that's resulted from the spilled contents of the various beakers and mixes on the tables.
You believe you can disperse the gas by a spell, such as gust of wind, or perhaps by leaving the doors open for an extended period of time - ten minutes should be safe.
2d6 ⇒ (4, 1) = 5
Rameth the Delver |
Any of you fools able to cast a gust of wind or the like? Otherwise we leave this door open and go through the other door.
Rameth pauses and takes a quick hit of his whiskey
pretty sure no one has that prepared
1d20 + 14 ⇒ (9) + 14 = 23 perched on the other door, then he opens that, assuming there is no gust of wind
DMummy |
Stealth: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15

Stealth: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (4) + 11 = 15
Stealth: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (11) + 11 = 22
The gentle lapping of water echoes through this chamber. Stone stairs descend from a raised platform into a subterranean canal that leads west. Loading doors exit the chamber to the east, which you just came through, and south.
As you begin to walk through the door you see that four figures were waiting for you - sadly they weren't able to surprise you but they do leap to the attack - three gang members carrying silver bracelets and a hyena yell in an attempt to unnerve you as you open the door.
Initiative (Albus): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Initiative (Audia): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
Initiative (Calin): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13

Initiative (Tobbs): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
Initiative (Monster): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
Combat Order: Rameth, Dwalindor, Tobbs, Bad Guys, Calin, Audia, Albus
I'm going to start averaging initiatives I think, it'll ease the burden on these merry go rounds I'm doing. Fair warning for next combat!
The thugs have AC 16, the hyena has an AC of 14.
Rameth the Delver |
Well hello gorgeous!
Rameth quickly studies his foe activate studied combat
Mutated Spear/SC: 1d20 + 9 - 1 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 9 - 1 + 1 + 2 = 20 for 1d8 + 7 + 3 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 7 + 3 + 2 + 1 = 16
And he promptly plunges the spear into the thugs gut. Spill your guts and tell me what you know
Oh man that was a good one
Dwalindor the Pahmet |
Dwalindor will move up behind Rameth and swing his hammer at the thug still up by Rameth.
"Good shot, boss! When will these punks learn? . "
MW Lucern, pa/FF : 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18
for damage: 1d12 + 6 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 + 6 = 17

Cold, bro.
The two remaining thugs watch Dwalindor kill their friend who was begging for mercy and decide to retreat.
Attack (Hand Crossbow): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
Attack (Hand Crossbow): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25

Damage (Hand Crossbow: 1d4 ⇒ 1
They fire their hand crossbows at Rameth in a hope to delay you before moving down the tunnel.
Only one bolt scratches Rameth but he feels a terrible burn from the wound.
Roll Fortitude, DC 17
Take 1d2 ⇒ 1 points of Strength Damage.
Calin Tinderfoot |
Calin steps up to R16 and fires at the enemy at R4.
We can't let them warn any others!
attack: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24damage: 1d6 ⇒ 4
The arrow arcs across the 60' between them and strikes the thug savagely in the leg. He grunts in pain but manages to keep from falling over.
Dwalindor the Pahmet |
my misunderstanding. I thought injured one on ground was begging not the other...oh well failed my SM roll.
DMummy |
I kind of like the idea of Dwalindor the hard dwarf barbarian - you can't let some wuss whining and screaming draw predators in the desert considering the problem you already have with blood. Still pretty cold, and you can move again while we wait for the rest.
Rameth the Delver |
1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 + 2 = 19
Lindy what are you doing? We could probably get a reward for him!
how's that not at all pissed he killed him, but it might cost us money! Lol
try to poison me again and I will let the dwarf kill you all!
Rameth moves to R-8 and flings a sharpened dagger at the wounded one
1d20 + 5 + 2 - 2 + 1d6 ⇒ (10) + 5 + 2 - 2 + (4) = 19 for 1d4 + 5 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 5 + 1 + 2 = 9
using inspiration
Rameth the Delver |
yea, I was waiting till I turned on the computer to do that. which I am now!
post above finished!
Dwalindor the Pahmet |
Dwalindor still looks upon the man he killed with hesitation before continuing after the others.
"Sorry boss. Not sure these punks were worth much, I got carried away. I am sure these other two will think twice."
DMummy |
The dagger that Rameth throws hit and bit deep, causing the thug to cry out in pain. But he's still mobile and the thugs are quite concerned by your advance.
Audia moves to R11 and Albus ot R9 to pursue and they ready attacks, but the thugs respond by throwing open what appeared to be a disabled enterance and to move at top speed away from you (the wounded thug is running, the unwounded one had to use a move action to open the door).
Gallantly enough, the uwounded thug opens the door to allow the wounded thug a greater lead time. He's runs at least 120 feet away and seems to be making for the main city.
The other one is behind him feet behind him, and 30 feet away from his starting point. You do see the glare of sunlight entering from the door they've flung open and they seem to be running down the canal.
(There's no map of the section they've run, but they will continue to flee if you don't pursue.)
Rameth the Delver |
Wasted a perfectly good dagger Rameth says sadly as the thug runs off.
Maybe Tobbs can catch him.
He turns his eye to the other thug Dont move and you live. Try to run and you die. Rameth moves up next to him. Double moves right next to him
Rameth the Delver |
Tobbs |
Tobbs should have gotten an AAO, he was next to them both.
bite: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8damage: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
Tobbs takes a bite at the thugs as they run away and misses gloriously. He then takes off after the furthest and attempts an overrun.
overrun: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
Dwalindor the Pahmet |
Dwalindor will not run after the thugs.
"Maybe they will tell their other friends to stop messing around"
Rameth the Delver |
That's not a bad idea. If that one gets away. Maybe this one is smart enough to talk and not die.
Calin Tinderfoot |
Calin moves up as far as he can and launches one final arrow at the still fleeing thug.
Keep running and don't stop until you can no longer see Wati!
attack: 1d20 + 9 - 2 ⇒ (17) + 9 - 2 = 24damage: 1d6 ⇒ 6
Dwalindor the Pahmet |
Calin. Noooooooo. You just shot another surrendering thug! LoL.
DMummy |
Calin's arrow slams into the back of the fleeing thug and he falls into the water in the distance.
After he does this a black butterfly appears and flutter in front of his face and then flies away.
Anyone who has it can roll Knowledge (Religion) DC 10
The thug look at all of you and screams at the top of his lungs.
FILTHY BASTARDS! HE WAS NO THREAT AND YOU MURDERED HIM JUST LIKE SATHI!
At this point he stoops into the water and comes up with his dagger and then stabs at Rameth.
Attack (Punching Dagger): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
Damage (Punching Dagger): 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Upset at his friends' deaths at the hands of apparently bloodthirsty opportunists, he misses his wild attack.
Dwalindor the Pahmet |
Greedy bastard, filthy bastard...those are fine. But Dwalindor finds "bloodthirsty" to leave a bad taste in his mouth. Now I might have to get that bite rage power next. dang it!
Rameth the Delver |
I did tell him not to run I can take a 1 and get that
1d20 + 7 - 4 ⇒ (16) + 7 - 4 = 19 for 1d8 + 7 + 1 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 7 + 1 + 3 = 15 non lethal
Rameth slams the flat of the spear blade into the side of his head, I suspect dropping him
"Angel Eyes" Albus |
Good, I thought the shorties had stolen all the fun to themselfs!
Advancing Albus strikes the man with a two-handed slash of his sword cutting deep into his neck.
Attk: 1d20 + 8 - 1 ⇒ (19) + 8 - 1 = 26
