Pity. I would have liked to have recorded this for posterity...

Twilightrose |

I texted him last night to see what was up. Apparently his care broke down and it somehow prevented him from getting online... I'm thinking he usually uses the library at the moment. Anyway, he told me he would try to post from his phone and if he couldn't he'd have me do it, but he never texted back to say either way. So, I guess I'll go ahead and roll for him.

0 successes = Killed by feedback pain
1 successes = reduced to 10% HP
2 successes = reduced to 30% HP
3 successes = reduced to 50% HP
4 successes = reduced to 70% HP
5 successes = reduced to 90% HP
HP is always conncted to the last actual HP amount you had, not total.
All lights went out when the comet finally impacted and somehow you have all waited for something special to happen - a bright light, a tunnel, a god guiding you into another world...nothing of that happens, you just awake somewhere inside the city. Next to you are the remains of a large domed building, now overgrown by lichen.
Some of your elvish troops are also nearby and none of them looks any better than you.
You hear Silsavar cursing, he has a large burn on his right forearm and his armor is scorched.

Kabal Breven |

HP = 17/58
Kabal slowly rises to a sitting position feeling much like he had had way too much to drink, got into a brawl with Corvax and then had a building fall on top of him. He shook the dust from his arms and his head and realized that a building had indeed fallen on him.
Blood and bloody ashes! Did that really just happen? Still think it was some sort of hallucination Bree? Thats real pain Im feeling. Im sure of it.
The Brevian stumbled his way to his feet and assessed their situation
Percpetion: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (6) + 11 = 17

Bree Longfield |

HP 22/36 (21 if you'd rather we round down as 70% of my current 31 was 21.7)
"Bloody Hell!" Bree growls as she rolls to her feet, taking a defensive stance and looking all around.
Perception 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24
"Yes, I do! If it weren't we'd still be back then dead and surrounded by the city on fire. Instead, we're back here. Yeah, it hurt, but are you surprised with Drow trickery?"

Winter Snow |

"That was unpleasant"
Winter begins to meditate, radiating a warm glow filling the space and kissing all present with a healing magic...
Channel Heal
1d6 ⇒ 3
1d6 ⇒ 2
1d6 ⇒ 6
1d6 ⇒ 6
1d6 ⇒ 6
All regain 23hp

Bree Longfield |

Bree - when were you injured? We spent two nights at the Elven village so you would have rested at least 10 HP back.
When we got trampled by the scared villagers running for their lives from the giant flaming meteor.
Bree mumbles a quick "Thanks, Winter" as she feels his familiar prayer magic wash over her, but her eyes continue to search for enemies.

I had forgotten about the trample! Kabal was strong and admittedly lucky enough to withstand any damage from that.
HP = 40/58
Kabal felt the cool and familiar rush of healing energy wash over him and ease the pain of most of his wounds.
Thanks indeed Winter. Aint this a mess?

Caterine Gabor |

4/41 HP to start with... 27/41 HP after Winter's healing
Caterine lies almost insensate on the ground after the change, and still looks faint of heart and weak even after Winter's divine succor. She shuffles over while seated to the nearest ruined wall and draws shallow breath while arms are curled around her legs... clearly she did not weather the passage easily.

I meant reduced TO 70% of your last hp amount
While you are still trying to orient yourself, the surroundings suddenly begin to change again...the world around you blurs and the sounds of forest and woodland are soon replaced by the noise of a city. Moments later you find yourself again in the rejunevated Celwynvian, but because your small army has shrunk to the size of a large group, none of the passersby object and just give you some curious glances...
Silsavar groans and shakes his head
This is some kind of cruel joke...

Winter Snow |

Heals remaining: 1 Channel, 5 Lay hands.
Winter draws out a wand from Sables pack and begins further tending wounds whilst Sable takes stock of his surrounds.
Cat 3d8 + 3 ⇒ (5, 4, 5) + 3 = 17
Kab 2d8 + 3 ⇒ (8, 7) + 3 = 18
"A joke indeed, but one that has whittled much of our ability to heal. We need to tread with much greater caution lest the next joke kills some of us... so far not a foe has been seen, and this is concerning."
Winter replaces the wand, content that all are healed fully.

Kabal Breven |

Kabal could feel his cracked ribs knitting back together and it wsnt entirely unpleasant...[i]much better than coughing blood for the next week...[i/]
This is getting gods damn ridiculous. Did anyone see anything out of the ordinary before everything went stupid? This is getting bloody annoying and someone is going to pay. I swear it.

Kabal Breven |

The Brevian frowned at Silsavar.
A time what? Kabal shakes his head to try clear the prevalent cobwebs that always made it hard for him to think.
Did anyone see any spider kissing drow in this cursed city of ghosts?I wanna kill at least one before another big rock drops on us.

Sable looks through more holes in his mantle as he brushes ash from his person. Winter's graces revitalized his battered body, but his clothes are worse for wear. He ensures Korax came away unscathed.
"Time warp? Perhaps. I jumped to the left, and stepped to the right, but still managed to take a cosmic beating. It seems we're chasing ghosts but there is still something pulling all of these puppet strings. I've no doubt that we are at the behest of ebon sorcery, but how we escape this birdcage is beyond me. Sebastian, any insights?"
Sable looks around surveying the un-ruins.
Perception 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (19) + 12 = 31

Caterine Gabor |

Taking Winter's proffered healing with thanks Caterine forces herself to her feet. Unsteady she sways but eventually comes back into herself, putting a hand steadyingly to her whip.
"It was me, they were in a building... but of now? Who knows if they have come as we have."

Kabal Breven |

A man of action, Kabal couldnt agree more with Silsavar but he was at a complete loss as to what to do about it...maybe Bree is right and were all have been enscorcelled by the drow's dark magic...what the bloody hell else could it be?... He wondered what the Sentinel was saying...might have to try to learn that flowery language one of these days...

With a bit of a crazed look to his normally jovial expression, "If things are to be repeated, remember, this is the original, Riddleport the copy. Under the Cypherarch we found the Drow built a mechanism to ensnare a falling star. If that was a duplication of this event, there must be a similar device...here in the city."
"Problem. Such a device could be hidden anywhere. Our best bet is they hid it in plain sight. The map had some sort of Celestial Observatory. Such a device might operate openly, bringing on its doom." He ends with raised eyebrows and a furrowed brow in a quizzical expression looking to see if the others understood this one of a rush of theories running quickly through his mind.

Winter Snow |

Winter looks to his elven enquirer...
"He asked what we had in mind, I have asked him to move us to the observatory, perhaps that is where they are working their foul magic"

DM Zyren / Heart of Riddles |

The elf looks at Winter with a mixture of interest, surprise and confusion
Yes, but I don't have much time, follow me...
The friendly elf leads you down the street, greets passersby here and there, but also asks some questions
I take it you are mercenaries? Bodyguards of one of the ambassadors? You don't look like tourists to me.

DM Zyren / Heart of Riddles |

Of the ambassadors? Oh, not much I fear. I know one of them is from Magnimar, a small human settlement south from here, but there is also one from the ambitious nation of Taldor and some are from the various human clans that live in the mountains surrounding the Mierani...brutes if you ask me...oh...we're nearly there. the elf stops at the entrance of a large park that mostly consists of colourful flower beds and large lawns. The building over there, the one made from white and black marble with the domed ceiling, that's the place you're looking for. You just have to walk to the other end of the park.

DM Zyren / Heart of Riddles |

The question is not easy to answer:
While the current city of Magnimar was only founded about one hundred years ago, there was already a city of the same name during the times of the Runelords, about 10k years ago.
The same is true for Taldor. The Empire of Taldor with its many nations exists now for about 6k years, but the central nation of Taldor already was a kingdom about 10k years ago.
From what you know, Celwynvian was also destroyed about 10k years ago.
As you hurry through the park, you pass a group of elves who are using telescopes to observe the sky. They seem to be some sort of class and their silver-haired tutor addresses you loudly
If you are heading towards the observatory, you don't have to hurry anymore, it is closed until the end of the lesson.

Winter Snow |

Diplomacy 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (15) + 11 = 26
"Then it best open quickly, for the fate of your people, and mine, depends on it"
Winter beseeches the Elf to open the buiding and stand aside, with all the determinatrion and confidence of a great heavenly host.

DM Zyren / Heart of Riddles |

What lesson? the elf turns around and points at one of the telescopes Obviously a lesson in astronomy, my human friend. Yesterday I have noticed a strange kind of black hole and so I have decided that we use today's lesson to do some...let's say field studies.
Not even Winter's alarmed tone can erase his cheerfulness and he smiles warmly
The fate of my people depends on the opening of the observatory?
