Sent into the Sahure Wastes by Lathrat Ke'shin an 'entrepreneur', the party seeks to recover ancient treasures of the Four Pharoahs....
Male Half-Elf Alchemist (Beastmorph/Vivisectionist) 4 (HP 31/31) (AC 21/11/20) (CMD 18) (Fort +6, Ref +5, Will +2) (Init +3) (Perception +13)
@Noor: That's fine; just be aware that Setesh will vigorously deny any accusations that he has done anything to Noor - whatever she is, is her doing alone :-P
Setesh finds Noor to be an abrupt, and blunt, nomad - learning more than that will probably take time ;-)
Male Human (Garundi) Magus 3
Tarik has, as was said IC, assigned each person in the group a role in their shared adventure story already.
Bazil: Dashing hero, overly confident but inspiring.
Setesh: Mysterious arts practitioner, strange but a firm comrade.
Jaru: Leader of men, the solid rock of the group.
Noor: Charming desert princess, brave and loyal.

Taking a leaf from a certain simian overlord, I'm going to start tracking a few things in my DM profile for you guys to be aware of.
Mainly simple things like names, places, etc. Will help me out as a ready reference as well.
Male Human Nerd 5/Expert 1
Sorry about the past two days, I've been slammed with everything in the book.
Minor Crab-beast
No worries sir - it happens.

Osirion Expedition - just a warning that I'll be out of town on business starting tomorrow through the weekend. Down to Singapore for a rig visit.
Should still be able to get a daily post in during the evening, but expect things to move a little slowly for a few days. At least you can take the chance to kick back in the guesthouse before you head out to the vault...
Minor Crab-beast
Bazil has unfortunately had to pull out, which takes us down to four. I'd like to hear whether you guys are happy to continue with four for now, or whether you'd like to pick up another player?
I am comfortable either way.
Male Half-Elf Alchemist (Beastmorph/Vivisectionist) 4 (HP 31/31) (AC 21/11/20) (CMD 18) (Fort +6, Ref +5, Will +2) (Init +3) (Perception +13)
I am happy to continue with just the four of us for the moment :-)
Pharasmin Clr 5 AC:18; hp: 36/38; Saves: fort +6 ref +3 will +7; 1 reroll
I think four is good, we don't seem to have had any problems with combat thus far.
Male Human (Garundi) Magus 3
We might feel the pain later unless someone can get trapfinding somehow.
Male Half-Elf Alchemist (Beastmorph/Vivisectionist) 4 (HP 31/31) (AC 21/11/20) (CMD 18) (Fort +6, Ref +5, Will +2) (Init +3) (Perception +13)
Well, anyone can use Perception to *FIND* (magical) traps; you just need trap-finding to be able to disarm magical ones - I suppose we could just take turns setting them off ;-)
If necessary, Disable Device *is* an Alchemist skill, so Setesh could start picking-up ranks; he just won't be able to disarm the magical ones (although we would still have the gold ol' trap rota to deal with those ;-) ).
Pharasmin Clr 5 AC:18; hp: 36/38; Saves: fort +6 ref +3 will +7; 1 reroll
OH, I was thinking he was the Swashbuckler archetype for some reason. yeah, trap detection would prolly be useful if this is what we think it is...
Male Half-Elf Alchemist (Beastmorph/Vivisectionist) 4 (HP 31/31) (AC 21/11/20) (CMD 18) (Fort +6, Ref +5, Will +2) (Init +3) (Perception +13)
True, but that is meta-gaming. We can just grin and take it for the moment ;-)
Think of it as an excellent in-character reason for one of us (probably Setesh) to take ranks in it :-P
Also, saying that a stranger rides over the horizon, who just happens to be the ideal replacement for Bazil, would also seen a tad artificial...
Pharasmin Clr 5 AC:18; hp: 36/38; Saves: fort +6 ref +3 will +7; 1 reroll
True enough. so how are your saves... sucker : P
don't worry Jaru will always have a guidance ready for you.

For what you are about to endure, I hope you eventually summon up the courage and good graces to forgive me...... cue ominous music in the background

As long as they are not pugwampis, I can probably do it, although it might be a close thing ;-)

Despite the slowed progression of pretty magics, Tarik could pick up a couple rogue levels.
Minor Crab-beast
I wouldn't sweat the lack of Rogue too much. I'll tailor the adventure to suit. If we had a rogue, there would be more traps - but without there won't be so many as to predicate the requirement for one.

Incants 'Resurrect OOC Thread'
You all go up a level :)
Female Human (Garundi) Ranger 1/Sorcerer 2
Sweet! Will get to that tonight. Noor will pick up an area damage spell most likely, as she is now more comfortable in her skin AND as we are defenseless against swarms currently....why am I thinking such thoughts......Jaru? I know those scarabs are just a dune away, I saw The Mummy. :P
Male Half-Elf Alchemist (Beastmorph/Vivisectionist) 4 (HP 31/31) (AC 21/11/20) (CMD 18) (Fort +6, Ref +5, Will +2) (Init +3) (Perception +13)
I concur :-)
Setesh just picked-up the ability to be disturbingly good at 'Heal' checks ;-)

i'm pondering whether to take a level of arcane bloodline Sor or just stay with Clr...
Minor Crab-beast
What intrigues you about the Arcane Sorc specifically?

DM - Voice of the Voiceless wrote: What intrigues you about the Arcane Sorc specifically? I dunno. I figure since I worship Nethys I should have some random arcane spells to throw at things. a xbow just seems so ... mundane :(
also the metamagic stuff could be cool. i could go all mystic theurge. i'm just pulling stuff out my butt.
i did take UMD so i could just finagle a wand as well.
Pharasmin Clr 5 AC:18; hp: 36/38; Saves: fort +6 ref +3 will +7; 1 reroll
ok, i'll stay cleric for now, but i'd like to get a wand of magic missiles perhaps. a priest of Nethys just ought to be using magic at every opportunity. I figure the UMD roll would be equivalent to an attack roll anyway so it's all good.
Minor Crab-beast
Would you like to have access to one of the wizard damage cantrips?
That way you can always try and zap something rather than shooting it with a crossbow? (I'd be happy for you to re-skin your feats as well if you wanted to go that way)
Pharasmin Clr 5 AC:18; hp: 36/38; Saves: fort +6 ref +3 will +7; 1 reroll
is there a feat that gives you access to a cantrip? there are a number of traits for limited cantrips, I know.
of course I should be able to afford a wand by now, eh? we get any dough or maybe Bas'rac has something stashed away?
Minor Crab-beast
I was just going to wave the big magic DM wand and let you take it. I mean d3 damage per round ain't exactly going to unbalance anything.
Pharasmin Clr 5 AC:18; hp: 36/38; Saves: fort +6 ref +3 will +7; 1 reroll
how are you handling hps? average or roll?
(it would be fun to compare Zolurket campaigns if we ever get them both running : ) )
Minor Crab-beast
HP are your choice - either average round up or roll. Though if you choose to roll you get stuck with the result.
And aye it would. I've got four PbPs DMing at the moment and I think that's probably my limit. One should be winding towards a conclusion at about the end of the year though - so who knows what might happen thereafter... though I am tempted by the Skull and Shackles AP... too many choices!

Can we get a re-confirmation on the standard marching order and watch order? - I'll put them up on the Campaign info page for ready reference.
Male Human (Garundi) Magus 3
Tarik is probably best as either rearguard or second in line. He's not very perceptive, but has some power to lay some smackdown on any flanking foes.
Watch order, he prefers either first or last watch so he can get his naptime and spell prep time in.
Pharasmin Clr 5 AC:18; hp: 36/38; Saves: fort +6 ref +3 will +7; 1 reroll
put me rear-ish. behind plenty of meat shields. hopefully I won't get sacked by hyenas again. morning watch I guess.
Male Half-Elf Alchemist (Beastmorph/Vivisectionist) 4 (HP 31/31) (AC 21/11/20) (CMD 18) (Fort +6, Ref +5, Will +2) (Init +3) (Perception +13)
Marching order: Happy to go 1st or 2nd (Setesh is good at Perception, but Noor is trained in Survival; how about Noor first outdoors, and Setesh first indoors?).
Watch order: Like Tarik, Noor needs 8 hours of uninterrupted rest in order to refresh her spell slots, so I would lean towards Setesh having one of the middle watches. Which one exactly, I do not mind :-)
Female Human (Garundi) Ranger 1/Sorcerer 2
Marching order sounds good.
Noor can take first watch.
Pharasmin Clr 5 AC:18; hp: 36/38; Saves: fort +6 ref +3 will +7; 1 reroll
I was just double checking and divine casters don't need all that sleep so I can take whatever watch works.
Minor Crab-beast
Have updated the front page with the march and watch orders.
Really want to swing some time to en-prettify the info page, but work is slammin at the moment.
Minor Crab-beast
Eyeball to Tarik - come in Tarik?
Male Human (Garundi) Magus 3
Sorry, I honestly just forgot about my pbp games until today. Stupid, stupid me!
Male Human (Garundi) Magus 3
Question: I have an empty spell slot. Would it be possible to take a quick break to memorize Obscuring Mist?
Minor Crab-beast
*wink* I was sure you already did that at the start of the day *wink*
Minor Crab-beast
Now that we're over 1k posts I thought I'd ask for a bit of feedback. Rather than asking the general 'How are things going?' - I thought I'd focus on specifics.
1. What has been your favorite part of the PbP so far?
2. What has been your least favorite part of the PbP so far?
3. Are there any skills or class features which you feel you aren't getting a chance to show off?
4. Generic general request for non-specific feedback of any other form you see fit or relevant?
