So, I have had my posting frequency decrease lately, and I have realized that it is time that I face facts. I cannot continue for the time being, at least until I get my feet underneath me and I figure out how all this is going to work.
What is "this"? Well, I am starting med school this year. In about a month, actually. I also am in the middle of a move from Hawaii back to Michigan. And last but not least...I am an older student, so I haven't been "in" school since oh...1998.
To say I am nervous and a bit freaked would be an understatement. I just don't think that I can continue posting until I get settled in, get my study rhythm down and figure out what is what.
I am certain that I will be scratching the walls and looking for a good stress release in a few months, and will most likely return...probably to a game or two.
In any regard, its been a good two years of fun. I have really enjoyed this. I am certain that posting regularly has helped my writing and probably helped my career in the process. You guys are a fantastic community, wonderful brilliant and imaginative writers and just lovely people. Cheers and I hope to see you again in a few months.

The point is to spend time with family, not closed in a room by myself.
I'm 48. The people I am told are there already are both of my parents, both of my dad's older brothers, and my dad's mom. This could well be the last time all of her boys are together with her. She isn't really ill. She's "just" over 90 years old . . ..
I won't leave until tomorrow morning, so I will be as active until then as normal.

Hey all just to let you know I am moving this week, so my posting my be a bit sporadic.
My wife and I have been 1000 miles apart for about 7 months. This Thursday she joins me and we get the keys to a bigger apartment than I've been using, then as early as Friday all the furniture she had shipped down could arrive, I've got tickets for a concert Friday night (Weird Al, actually), and on Saturday my internet connection in the old apartment gets turned off and the one in the new apartment gets turned on.
So, things could get a little weird for me towards the end of this week, too.
Plans "verified", as much as they can be. Wednesday evening will probably be my last contact for the week.
Sorry all comcast messed up the work order at the new house. I'll be back online Monday.
Wife and household goods both showed up. The bathroom, bedroom, part of the living room and some of the kitchen are in order. Enough that we can live day-to-day while she goes through the rest of what she brought and gets it all put away. I hope she can make it all fit. I'm really not certain she can. Still have boxes scattered in the dining room, living room and kitchen, and the second bedroom is about 50% full of boxes, too.
She's spent the last seven months getting rid of stuff, too.
@Thalin, I hear ya, I can't believe all the stuff we got rid of. I even had to part with some unused D&D/RPG Stuff. But that is what happens when you have been playing since 84, lots of accumulation. Thanks be to pdfs and e-readers now a days to cut down on the number of physical books.

FYI - Shotgun message I am posting to all of my games (and the recruitment threads I have been participating in):
I will be attending a Mormon-friendly scheduled Wood Badge course (first weekend) this week. The Mormon friendly part is that the course runs from Thursday (0730) through Saturday (2000ish) instead of the more normal Friday through Sunday.
I expect I will be checking the boards and posting Wednesday evening, but probably not as extensively and repeatedly as I do most weeknights.
Then, my wife and I are supposed to get up Sunday and go shopping for some better work clothes for me. It will probably be Sunday evening before I post again.
Just trying to make sure people are aware, and don't end up waiting on me by mistake.

Well, this "weekend" (10, 11 & 12 Apr) is the 2nd weekend of my 2 weekend Boy Scout training course known as Wood Badge. This course is being offered on an LDS friendly schedule, so I report to the campground at 0700 on Thursday and get home during Saturday evening.
In keeping with the rules given to the boys for their campouts, I will not be allowed to use any fancy electronics during the 3 days of the course. So I will be out of touch for those 3 days.

My wife is talking about spending a week camping to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. These plans are not finalized (or even really scheduled) yet. But I know she won't be able to go a week without her electronic tether, so I expect to be in contact during that period anyway.
