How was he dressed? Like a spellcaster or more heavily armored. I would think Balani would suspect that it was a spell like silent image or something.
Suspecting magic is afoot Balani tries to determine if there is anyone else more substantial in the area.

Guys, I am getting killed at work at the moment. Sorry for not posting to update you. Doing about 60+ hours per week atm...looks like it will be this way until the middle of August when several big projects should end.
Not calling this quits but posting will be very light for the next 8 weeks.
Will try to keep a pulse on this PBP...hopefully you all can ride it out but understand if it is frustrating to periodically check this.

I completely understand; it has been really hectic here as well. I'll check back periodically for updates, but I won't start to get concerned unless September rolls around without anything. :)

I will get in anupdate to get this battle started in the next week...it may just pogress fairly slowly.
