Kurag Urlot III |
Not used to being on the front lines and especially not being on the front lines caught unaware and slower than his adversaries Kurag takes a quick pummeling. Reeling from the blows Kurag steps back out the fray and fires at the hydra twice.
Point blank precise rapid shot 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22 for 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Second shot 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9 for 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10
Bormann Grimm |
Bormann takes the opposite tactic from Kurag's because he needs to get in close to hew with his axe. He steps forward and aims a savage blow at the hydra's body, hoping it will be easier to chop at than the flailing heads.
power attack, +1 great axe: 1d20 + 9 - 2 ⇒ (17) + 9 - 2 = 24
damage: 1d12 + 7 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 7 + 6 = 16
Sergei von Janderhoff |
Sergei strides forward, stances, and starts swinging at the creature's torso.
Agrimmosh (+2 Impact Warhammer): 1d20 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 8 + 2 = 22, for 2d6 + 10 + 2 ⇒ (6, 5) + 10 + 2 = 23 damage.

BB Beetle |
BB's cloud zaps the remains of the hydra a few more times. "Wow, I thought we'd be there for a while. Good job, everyone. I'm ready to move when you are!"
Kurag Urlot III |
or sure Greta but I am glad we don't have to find out. Do you have any healing for today Greta. I could sure use some as well as the rest I think..
Kurag goes about searching the area to see if the hydra had a lair nearby for anything of value or use.
Perception 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20
Once healed and her area searched Kurag is ready to press on into the swamp looking for a will o wisp.
BB Beetle |
Healing sounds good to me, Kurag's in bad shape, and BB can't do everything by himself! :)
DM RichD |
After healing up, you continue into the swamp. After about about 15 minutes, you come to a small clearing with a make-shift tent and a filthy dwarf female squatting by a small fire. You hear her mumbling to herself in a mixture of dwarven and common the following:
Dang dirty orcs! That is why I can't find me brother! Why else can't I find him! If he were around I would of found him. Oh yes I would have! Dang dirty, filthy orcs!
As soon as she sees you, she shrieks in surprise.
Ye come to take me, filthy orcs like ye took me brother! Well ye got another thin' comin'! I'll dance on yer graves fore ye take me! At that moment she picks up her dwarven waraxe. I'll cut the whole lot of ye in two!
BB Beetle |
"We're a little too short, and not green to be orcs."
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19 So close!
"Jeez, how do we calm her down?"
Kurag Urlot III |
Thanks Greta. Your healing touch and power are much needed around here. That hydra I think was planning on dwarf for dinner. I need to be more careful about where we are going. Sorry everyone for not noticing a large 5 headed creature. It won't happen again.
Taking his time and being more diligent about his surroundings Kurag leads the others deeper into the swamp. Arriving at the clearing Kurag peers ahead and is surprised to see a fellow dwarf. As everyone comes closer Kurag jumps back in surprise at the reception from the clearly mad dwarf woman.
sense motive 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21
Motioning to the others and whispering quietly so the woman does not hear him. I think she has suffered a mental break down. We may not be able to reason with her until we can solve her mental affliction. Greta do you know anything that can be done for her?
Bormann Grimm |
sense motive: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
Clearly having no clue what's causing the dwarf woman's behavior, Bormann instead makes a more direct suggestion. "I should be able to subdue her easily enough. Then we can talk," he says as he cracks his knuckles.
Sergei von Janderhoff |
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3.
Utterly clueless, Sergei looks reasonably incensed, and tries to reason with her.
"Lass, do we were really look like orcs to you? We be dwarves, just like yerself. Come on, let us help ye!"
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24.
DM RichD |
Will Save DC15: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17
Wha...? What did ye try to do to me you durned orc? Is this how ye got me brother? The dwarf says more excited and more agitated Dirty orc tricks tis is.
She raises her axe to attack.

Sergei von Janderhoff 5(52/52)
Greta Bolkasdottir 2(35/35)
Up First: Kurag
She is about 15 feet from the group.
Bormann Grimm |
Initially Bormann looks over at Greta and nods in approval. "I can see why you're one of Bolka's chosen. My solution was much more violent."
But then seeing she's going for the axe, "But perhaps it will prove more reliable!"
I had originally gone with the just the first sentence but it was crossposting with the GM's - so here we go...
Kurag Urlot III |
Not wanting to harm a dwarf woman who was out of her mind with grief Kurag tries for a less lethal approach. Moving up and drawing his greatclub he Triest o knock her out rather than kill her.
Greatclub attack 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7 for 1d12 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10
DM RichD |
You'll have to try harder than that, orc! Ingrahild shouts while launching into an attack on Kurag.
Attack 1: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25
Attack 1: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
Damage: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
She cuts Kurag. Feel me steel, dirty orc!
Up Next: Bormann, BB, Sergei, Greta
BB Beetle |
"I'll try to slow her down a bit. If this doesn't work, I'll make one of you big so we can hold her down."
Casting Daze. Will Save DC 13 or she loses her next action.
Bormann Grimm |
Though he's not a wrestler, Bormann hopes he has sufficient strength to subdue Ingrahild. He lunges in to grab and hold her.
I don't have improved grapple, so it's gonna provoke an AoO
grapple: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20
DM RichD |
"I'll try to slow her down a bit. If this doesn't work, I'll make one of you big so we can hold her down."
Round 1
DC 13 Will Save (BB's Daze): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14
BB almost dazes the mad dwarf, but she shakes it off. Bormann attempts to grapple her but she wriggles free. Missed it by 1 - Her CMD is 21!
Wha...Get yer hands off of me ye damned, dirty orc!
She swings her axe at Bormann for his attempted hug.
AOO: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
That will teach ye to put yer orc claws on a dwarven lass!
Next up: Sergei
Sergei von Janderhoff |
Sorry! I didn't see that this thread had updated.
"For the last time, lass, I ain't no soddin' orc!"
Sergei moves around to a flank, and attempts to club her into unconsciousness.
Agrimmosh: 1d20 + 8 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (15) + 8 + 2 - 4 = 21, for 2d6 + 10 ⇒ (2, 3) + 10 = 15 non-lethal damage.
Kurag Urlot III |
Smarting from the first miss Kurag tries again with help from flank with Sergei. We're not orcs but if you continue to attack us we will have no choice but to quiet you down till we can reason with you.
flank sneak attack w/ greatclub! 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 5 + 2 = 11 for 1d12 + 3 + 1d6 ⇒ (8) + 3 + (3) = 14
DM RichD |
Round 2 Con't
That's what I'd expect durned orcs ta say! She shouts as she deftly moves out of the way of Kurag's great club.
?: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18
?: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18
She then attacks Sergei.
Attack 1: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25
Attack 2: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
She just misses the Stonelord. Nect time, orc, ye won't be so lucky!
Everyone besides Kurag give me their Round 2 Action.
BB Beetle |
BB begins to cast Enlarge Person.
If BB is hit before the next round it can break his concentration.
Bormann Grimm |
Undeterred by one failed attempt, and willing to dare another attack from the woman, Bormann once again tries to get a hold on Ingrahild but she is moving too wildly and erratically for him to get a hold.
Grapple: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12
Greta Bolkasdottir |
Greta shakes her head, clearly frustrated by this woman. She draws her mace and whacks the woman upside her damn fool head. MACE, Nonlethal: 1d20 + 6 - 4 ⇒ (16) + 6 - 4 = 18 for 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9 damage!
DM RichD |

Kurag Urlot III |
Kurag continues to swing at the woman hoping to knock some sense into her.
Greatclub flank sneak 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17 for 1d12 + 3 + 1d6 ⇒ (8) + 3 + (6) = 17
DM RichD |
Round 3
Kurag's club just misses Ingrahild.
I love how she is vexing you all!
?: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Ingrahild raises her axe like she is about to attack but then looks around confused. Where am I? Where be me brother?
She does not strike any one.
Up Next: Everyone but Kurag.
BB Beetle |
BB finishes casting, but holds his charge, just in case. "Hey! We're not orcs. We're hunting 'em! Stop attacking us so we can talk this out, okay?"
BB waits for her response.
Bormann Grimm |
Bormann maintains his control, but he watches Ingrahild suspiciously, particularly her axe. He can't help but reflect a little bit on the fact that had he not followed the path of the Grimm battle rager, he might have learned a more nuanced style of combat that would have served him better in this particular circumstance.
He pushes that out of his mind, but currently holds his tongue lest he make the situation worse with angry words.
DM RichD |
Round 3 Con't
Seeing how the angry dwarf is not attacking, the party tries to reason with her to see if her assault is over.
