I had been hoping to pick this up in more full-swing, but the last two weeks have brought a few doctors visits that will lead to significant changes in lifestyle and I will have less free time. I'm sorry for the drop! I was super excited for this game and will have to withdraw from most of the games I'm playing in on the forum as well.

Is this game over/on hold, then? I think it was probably the most fun one I was in, including the two I'm running. Regardless, I hope your health improves, as that's much more important than gaming. As well, time to check out the recruitment thread.
Edit: Eilidh will probably not be submitted to any other games, so if you decide you can come back, she'll be around.

I'm sorry to hear this as well. I've really been enjoying the open ended action and the many NPCs. It's been fun to check out all the different things and connections hidden in here. It gave me a bit of a classic RPG vibe where in order to find out what's going on you had to interview all the NPCs. Thanks for running this game, it was a lot of fun.
It looks like all my games are gone by the wayside now. If you do wish to keep going with this at a later date, send me a private message. I'm likely not to be checking the site every day.

Really sorry to hear this! I was really enjoying this game - Kassie's fun to play. I'm sorry I wasn't able to post sooner - have had a few 12 hr + days over the last week.
Thanks anyway, I understand (from experience) how life can interfere. Hope you're not too unwell. Like Allie, Kassie's unlikely to be submitted to other games - she's a bit too targeted at this one, so if the situation changes and you decide you can restart then she'll be ready and waiting with her sister.
Thanks for a great game!

Okay! Reviving this game. I had planned to start it up Monday, but I wanted to begin today due to recent work schedule changes. Over tonight/Sunday/Monday I'm working near nonstop except for some sleep times. I wanted to get a brief post up today with a bigger start on Monday evening.
Right now, Daen, Eckart, Kassie and Allie all seem to be back. Please check in here so I have a confirmation!

Since Daen has stumbled across two (more or less) "hidden" ish ways of expanding character knowledge in the game, I figured I'd elaborate a bit more on it as well as spill the beans on a few other downtime activities.
You've already noticed via the free feat at character creation and the free Imp. Unarmed Strike. I like high-powered campaigns, but high-powered in a peculiar way. During recruitment, 9th-level casters were banned not simply for high power but for the number of uncontrollable ways they have of surpassing and making many story lines more difficult. It's a lot harder to plan for the large variety available to them as casters than it is for the variety in a 6th level, more focused, spell-user.
I do, however, adore combat and non-combat options that expand versatility of those non-9th level casters. By befriending Professor Comell and pursuing work with him, Daen's found a way to start building in a new direction. This is available to every character. As Allie spends more time with Priestess Astrata, she'll discover her own path.
Another way is via the special classes. Essentially, most downtime options will lead to something in the future long-term. Study a single subject for long enough outside of class and you will discover more than just the +2 competence bonus on your next check. Spend time preparing for and practicing for challenges each week and discover something beyond the bonus to damage and AC. Sabotage enough enemies and unearth clues about them or new abilities within yourself. Spend enough time making various people helpful and discover contacts, gain prestige/fame, side quests, bonus feats and some unique abilities.

Yes! I forgot to put the check up there.
Restov is, while part of Brevoy, considered a Free City. Their government is separate from Brevoy's nobility, instead being in the hands of the Swordlords. Swordlords have a precarious place in the nation, as Daen knows well, being of old nobility from a nation that was long ago conquered and absorbed into Brevoy. They still enjoy some freedoms and are renowned for their sword skills (thus the name).
Baird was a famed duelist, being a member of the Council of Nine, a council made up of nine swordlords who make decisions about Restov. However, when Surtova rose to power, he challenged the ruler. He pushed for adventurers to move south and create a new nation in the Stolen Lands. His actions were questionable, but not outright illegal and the matter lay quiet for several years. Unfortunately, once the city growing in the Stolen Lands became stronger, they came to Baird's call for a rebellion against the Surtovas.
Several crushing events in the Stolen Lands themselves caused the new city-state to retract its troops after only a few short skirmishes. Baird fled the country and hasn't been heard from for many years.

Sorry for the intermittent posting,... have family staying at the moment and will be going away most of next week to a place with limited internet... If I don't post for a while feel free to keep the game moving by DMPCing me.

Not annoying! I meant to give something to Eckart but completely forgot!
Eckart's Martial Training with the Broken Blade style improves. He can ready two maneuvers rather than just one. He also learns an additional maneuver: Shards of Iron Strike.
Standard action melee attack.
You make a hard, jabbing strike at your opponent's vulnerable spots for maximum pain. Make an attack against the target and, if successful, stagger that foe for one round in addition to your normal damage.

Daen Aheritor |

Actually, my AC should still be 15 due to my training, unless I'm mistaken. That would mean I would take 9 points and be staggered myself. According to the DM, practicing for the Challenge day gives you a +2 AC, not just for one fight. I could be wrong though, so I'll post my response in a spoiler.

Eilidh is focusing on suboptimal ranged damage dealing. Without 9th-level casters, I'm not sure what the right character would be. Bard could be good, but honestly, the choice should be based on the character's personality, since that seems to be what the game is based on.

Kassara |

I'm not too fussed,... front line fighters are pretty useful in the absence of magic - maybe a skill-monkey type would be good? Or an all-rounder type like a bard or ranger? Like Allie I think personality is the most important consideration. (Kassie would like some more good looking guys though!... You can never have too many.)

Eilidh "Allie" Tilernos |

We have two front-liners, yes, but I can't help thinking a cavalier would be a blast to add to the party. Someone totally dedicated to their order, but also stuck-up and holier-than-though (but not a paladin). Perhaps someone from a Chelish noble house or something, with a long history of being aristocrats.
...not that I'll likely get what I want. Still, though!

Eilidh "Allie" Tilernos |

So, Jalen is either a warpriest or a cleric, Elyssa is an alchemist for sure, and I have no idea about the rest of the cohort. I assume you've got a good mix of fighters and warriors, with a few barbarians and one or two other classes. Will have to watch more fights more closely.
EDIT: Bryson is an arcane caster, Theodric is a divine. I think Vorin is a magic-user as well.

Daen Aheritor |

Daen got lucky. Which is what I can say for this whole run.
If Jalen doesn't use magic, then it should be interesting to see what is part of his deal. Mysteries and mysteries, I like how there's much more going on than we know.

Daen Aheritor |

Yeah, it might have left more of an impression than he wanted to. That low wisdom was bound to bite him sooner or later. Now that he's used his biggest defensive spell, handling the challenges today is going to be rough. Would you mind rolling for HP gained?
