I was thumbing through my old Monster Manual II the other day and came across Anthraxus and the mention of Bubonus and some of the other Daemon Kings and I was wondering if Paizo was ever gonna try to include them with their newly designed Daemons.
And when I grabbed Paizo's Bestiary 2 I saw that in the Daemon description there is mention of a "possible" Oinodaemon (presumably Anthraxus, Bubonus, etc.,) that is a Fifth Horseman that's more of a badass than the other Four Horsemen; I was quite intrigued.
Except that Anthraxus and Bubonus and the others mentioned in the original Monster Manual II would equal more than just 1 Fifth Horseman and more importantly, the names Anthraxus, Bubonus and the others are more specific-to-type-of-Death than are the generic Daemons that already exist. Anthraxus and Anthrax, Bubonus and Bubonic plague, etc.
Maybe, just maybe, Anthraxus and Bubonus and the others were overthrown by Paizo's Four Horseman the same way the Obiryths, er, Qlippoths were by the Demons?!?
I'm interested to learn what Paizo's feeling toward the Oinodaemon is.

The upcoming Book of the Damned 3: Horsemen of the Apocalypse, talks a bit more about all of the daemons and this mysterious 5th Horseman.
And no... it will NOT include stats for the Horsemen or anything like the Oinodaemon. We need to figure out what we're doing with post-20th level rules before we can do that.
It WILL have stats for a lot of new daemons though.

I never thought I wanted The Great Beyond, never considered getting it.
Now though, looking at the paragraph description in the WebStore, I'm considering it.
Maybe I'll get my LGS to get it so I can look through it to see if I like it enough to buy it. Oh, and go through the other stuff Todd Stewart wrote to see if I like his stuff in general.
I'm just tired of buying books to look at for half-an-hour and then putting them on the shelf for the next hunnerd years never to have their covers cracked again.
Hmmm.
