Faerin Boulderstep
|
Faerin double times towards the log.
Ruin the Quick
|
Ruin gets off the log so others can come across, and takes out a tanglefoot bag.
"I got an idea to try to get the beast into the river, either get across the log fast or let me try to get it to charge at me!" Ruin shouts at the others across the log.
Ruin the Quick

1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21
Selkin Rayne
|
[b]Round 4[/ooc]
Selkin tries to slowly cross the river by way of the log Acrobatics: 1d20 - 5 ⇒ (17) - 5 = 12 If that makes it he'll then double move to get behind/next to the halfling.
I've moved myself on the map on the assumption I made it across.
Haku
|
Haku gets a running start and leaps!
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20
Landing easily, the islander moves to the log to help people over. Trying to speed things up, to be in full force as soon as possible.
| DM Rah |
Janira sets herself in a defensive crouch, preparing to dodge the minotaur's attacks.
Looking up with wide eyes at the minotaur, she continues offering words of courage. “Remember the sacrifice of the fabled Yasmin bint Faroud, favored of the Ten, who gave her life distracting Zythrustianax, draconic scourge of the Society, so dozens of junior agents could survive. Her act of benevolence is the epitome of cooperation within the Society. Er...”
The meaning of her own words give her pause, and she calls back over her shoulder. "I'd prefer not to follow in her footsteps just yet! Have none of you any ranged weapons!"
Daijiro and Ruin are up!
Leonides
|
Perhaps I should invest in a bow.
ETA: This is my 12,000th post on the boards, and it's an internal monologue. Kind of anticlimactic; I should have tried to arrange it to be an attack on something impressive, like the <REDACTED> we're up against in the Hall of Harsh Reflections. Ah, well.
Ruin the Quick
|
i am a monk ,what choices do i have!
Ruin moves around trying to a place where he can throw the bag at the beast, but does not want to get too close. Ruin will wait until the halfing is out of the way to throw the bag, his idea to get the beast to charge at him into the water foiled by the party all coming across.
i really dont want to get closer than i am but i got -4 to attack with a -4 for melee missile fire so not really feeling trying to throw it just yet.
Faerin Boulderstep
|
On Faerin's turn, she'll move over the log and get to Janira.
Faerin moves over the log and towards Janira, her weapons and armor ready.
"Help in on the way."
| DM Rah |
Ruin, Janira is sort of pinned against the stream, so there is no safe place for her to move without provoking an AoO. As I see it you only have a -4 for throwing into melee.
Faerin, looks like I missed you. Anyway, crossing the log requires an acrobatics check vs DC 7 if you move at half-speed. Jumping the stream is DC 10.
Daijiro, I think you were close enough to jump across and attack if desired. Or are you closing slowly to avoid an AoO from the minotaur?
Faerin Boulderstep
|
I suspect Faerin is gonna go swimming...
Acrobatics vs DC 7 1d20 - 6 ⇒ (14) - 6 = 8
Too close.......Double moving barely gets me across that log......
| DM Rah |
Actually Daijiro, I just looked at the map and you won't make it there without charging, so let's hold that until next round. Also, I don't see any armor on your character sheet. What are you wearing?
Ruin holds back, looking for an opportunity that doesn't come. The minotaur steps forward again, glaring at the group forming on the shore of the stream. It hacks at Janira, but she dodges aside. It then brings the axe around for a second strike at Daijiro and almost drops its axe. This close you can now see large cracks in the weapon, which seem to be hindering the monster's ability to use it.
Attack on Janira: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18
Damage: 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (1, 3) + 4 = 8
Attack on Daijiro: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Damage: 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (4, 4) + 4 = 12
Daijiro then steps in and gives the minotaur a whack with his spade.
Waving her dagger threateningly, Janira races by the minotaur, drawing an attack, but ducking it as she gets into a flanking position. She stabs widly and manages a lucky stab in the minotaur's leg.
"Charge!" She screams, then pants a little, having run out of breath with all the talking.
AoO on Janira: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
Damage: 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (2, 6) + 4 = 12
Janira's dagger: 1d20 ⇒ 14
Damage: 1d4 - 1 ⇒ (2) - 1 = 1
Janira's out of Bardic Performance rounds, but has lingering performance, so bonuses will remain for 2 more rounds.
PARTY UP (except Daijiro)!
Ruin the Quick
|
Ruin is unsure what he can do, he moves closer and readies to throw his bag if he can get a clear shot. He does add his 2nd style to his first one combining them in some strange snake/crane combo movement.
Faerin Boulderstep
|
Having cleared the log, tricky as it is. Short strong legs propel Faerin towards combat with her hammer in her hands!!
Faerin Charges with stonestrike!, AC is now 18. 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 6 + 1 = 151d8 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 3 + 1 = 9
"By Torag's will, I shall smote thee down!!!!"
Leonides
|
In that case....
Instead of casting wrath, Leonides edges carefully across the log. At the end he was about to put his foot on a slick spot, but was saved by divine grace.
Acrobatics check, incl. ACP and guidance: 1d20 + 1 - 3 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 - 3 + 1 = 7
Haku
|
That would be going under the assumption that he did not have Combat Reflexes. Is it visible that he is distracted enough to get closer? If so, Haku would attempt to move up and trip the monster!
Trip (mwk weapon/inspire courage): 1d20 + 3 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 3 + 1 + 1 = 22
| DM Rah |
Janira moved through more than 1 threatened square to flank. It doesn't have combat reflexes.
Leonides crosses the log, just barely making it to the south side.
Selkin channels energy, healing some wounds of those with injuries.
"Thanks!" Janira shouts.
Faerin charges in and gives the minotaur a couple broken ribs with her hammer.
Haku moves up and knocks the minotaur's feet out from under it, sending it crashing to the ground!
Ruin, last chance to act or get skipped.

na he is playing it safe, one hit from that axe and he is a dead monk so
