Fearless is checking out the rooms to the northa nd south of him. Did he find anything?

Fearless peeks through two doors, each leading similar chambers with raised lecterns set before cushions and rugs arrayed on the floor before them. Both appear to be classrooms where instructors and clergy would give lectures and sermons to students or acolytes.
Rooms B5b and B5d

Beside each door is a small chamber with a folding cot and a slim wooden case atop a side table.
Rooms B8

Is Fearless entering any of these rooms to search them, or just looking through the doors?

Fearless enters the southern room to have a small lookey-loo around. "What do we have here."

..at the house of Thyrr....
Brother Butterfly pulls out the Masterwork Viol that they had originally given to Loic and gotten back (treasure sheet).
If I were to properly report, this sheet music was found inside the belly of this instrument. It's owner or master will almost certainly lead you to the "knowledge destination" you crave.
Brother looks at the instrument very carefully. Checking all aspects for a moniker or engraving or symbol that might glean who owned it before their discovery.

While I'm looking this over, we found this on Briarstone Island in Ustalav. An Island with links to The Briarstone Witch, with links to The infamous Star Stella, and which was the location of a significant merger-breach from the dreamlands plane. This Viol and the music could even be from the mystery city of Carcosa!

Inside the Mysterium...

Fearless steps into the classroom and begins poking around. There is a bit of a mess here of papers and books scattered about the room, seemingly abandoned right in the middle of a class. However, nothing here seems link to Lowls, Mun, or Necronomicon. It's quiet here... too quiet...

At Thyrr's apartment...

"You found a copy of this elsewhere?" Thyrr seems surprised, and a little concerned.

Brother Butterfly examines the viol found way back then. It's been a long time since it was first picked up, and no one has really examined it closely until now. Looking into one of the f-holes of the instrument, he spots an engraving, but it is in a language he's never seen before.

"This music is called the Fugue de Rue d’Auseil." She closes pages set up for her recital and points at a title in a language as strange as the one Butterfly sees in the viol. "You mention the Dreamlands, and Carcosa. I suspect there is a connection to the music and that place, but I have been unable to learn more..." She hesitates a moment, then begins to explain the troubles with the place.

"The Mysterium has suffered hard times since Satrap Xerbystes II took the throne. Katheer has many universities and libraries and he favored others, so perhaps you will understand that when two men arrived with gold and rare manuscripts it was hard for Elder Lythiin - the present keeper of the university - to turn down their request for unfettered access to the library."
"They sequestered themselves in the lower chambers of the Mysterium for a few days, then all hell broke loose. The entry level of the Mysterium has an enchanted mirror that was supposed to summon axiomites to defend the library should its protections be breached, but something went terribly wrong, and extraplanar beasts called hounds of Tindalos instead appeared in the halls. Fortunately there is only one entrance, and our guards have managed to keep the place locked down, for the moment, but these monsters continue to roam the Mysterium, slauthering any that wander too far inside."

Cats nods to the Thyrr.

”I cat remember exactly where we found it, but if you’re thinking it was in the middle of a cursed insane asylum with crying eye doors, you might be cat,” Cats responds, somewhat distracted by Brother looking into the f-holes, and worried what he might decide that means and what he might choose to stick in there.

Cats listens to the problems with the Mysterium.

”The hounds slaughter all those who go inside? Well, it’s a good thing none of us are stupid enough to go in there alone. Nope, not one of cat.”

This man, who drapes his arm over my shoulders and looks like he could single handedly hold back a breaking dam, has had experience crushing Hounds of Tandalos. Maybe, there's some help that we can offer to the Mysterium. We'd certainly NOT be slaughtered if we ventured inward.

Can we help you, your museum, and the arts --this musical evening? We'd even accept a guide so as to not over-invite ourselves. The guide could hang back and report our progress.

Catterfly is really showing some growth there. ”We’ve dealt with some weird cat, and if we can help with the Catstyrium, we will. After all, the book we need to read is in there.”

Elder Thyrr glances at the Mariner, then at Cats, eyes pausing on his bow. ”If you’ve fought hounds before, and you are willing to do so again, then perhaps fate has led you here. I’ll allow you to venture into the Mysterium.” She begins leading you back to the building. ”Listen closely and I’ll tell you what else awaits inside.”

Elder Thyrr tells you that there is a spherical chamber in the ceiling of the Mysterium’s first level, built into the body of the pyramid. This chamber is used by priests who meditate in complete darkness while levitating, but Elder Thyrr believes that the chamber might provide protection from the hounds of Tindalos if you need a place to rest or retreat to.

To navigate the library, you will need to find four different angelic statues with heads that swivel. These heads must be turned to face the walls they stand before, and once they are all properly manipulated, the gateways between the different levels of the library can be opened.

In order to make the Mysterium safe, you will need to venture to the depths of the building, to the level that contains the Soul—a chamber at the very core of the library—to find an angel statue without eyes, and insert your fingers into its eye sockets. A tolling bell will signify the wards have been reset.

Thyrr warns you of lingering dangers in the lower levels of the Mysterium. She says that the last time the Mysterium’s wards were triggered (nearly a hundred years ago), many Nethysians and other scholars were killed; their lasting psychic impressions have been known to rear up at times in bizarre and dangerous manifestations when people are studying in the lower levels of the Mysterium. Those who venture to the lower levels frequently know to look out for these manifestations, and some even study accompanied by a priest so that they have a greater chance at combating them. Many of these manifestations were purged, but there are still numerous haunts that the clergy hasn’t been able to figure out how to permanently get rid of. She also warns that some of these existing haunts might have warped and changed like the guardian mirror.

Lastly, Thyrr asks that you find and secure the body of Elder Lythiin and tend to any dead you find within within the Mysterium by reciting a simple prayer over each and covering their faces.

If the Watchmen make the place safe, Thyrr promises to allow you unfettered access to the library for a week and offers a cash reward.

Meanwhile…

Fearless checks two more classrooms, finding them in disarray, with a bloodstain on the floor of the northern chamber that indicates a body was dragged out the far door. At the end of the hallway between classrooms he spots an angelic statue holding aloft a keystone. Made of white marble, the statue has grown a skin of pollution from the city’s smoke and dust, giving it a sickly honeyed hue.

”Yeah, sure, I think we can cat that,” Cats agrees, but also thinks that they should probably head in on the morrow, rather than today as much magics have already been spent.

”Yeah, we’ll try to find your fellow Elder.”

Given his druthers, Cats will return for a rest before prepping and heading in on the morrow. Might also do some shopping.

”Elder, how best to defeat the Hounds? Any tips or tricks?”

The Mariner gives a firm look at Brother and Cats, the familiar feeling of steeling oneself before battle creeping in. "Aye, we'll give your deaders proper rights. One more question - you got a map of some sort of the library?"

Up for shoppin'! if there's time

”You will need good eyes to spot the hounds coming, and magic weapons to harm them. They have viscous teeth and claws, and reality tears around those who look directly at them. We’ve tried enchantments to hold and control them, but they have failed, so I expect they have some sort of immunity to mind-affecting magics.”

Elder Thyrr has brought you back to across the street, but pauses at Cats suggestion to delay entry. She then offers some suggestions for places close by and the names of a few local respected merchants.

Cats looks at Fearless and a feeling of relief washes over his face.

"You guys see and hear that too, right? That's Catless and he exists, right?" Cats asks. Ah yeah, I'm not going crazy after all. I'm totally norcat.

Considering my expertise in the arts of healing and health -- your existence was VERY MUCH in danger a few seconds ago! If it weren't for the aid of these stalwart guards - and their magical prowess - you'd probably be a slab of interdimensional meat.
But, now that The Watchmen are here, Fearless is saved once more from a gruesome death.

Brother Butterfly heals the wounded. Cats slashes a hound and the Mariner hacks it’s head off before it can bite back. Fearless blasts another down the hall, which stumbles but stays on its paws.

The Mysterium guards have experience with these creatures and seem to have tactics to deal with them, but they don’t fight with the intent to defeat the hounds, but rather survive and defend.

Thyrr channels energy to heal the injured further.
Channel: 3d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 6) = 14

”Is there anyone else in here! If not, withdraw to the doors!” One calls to the Watchmen as the others cast spells to multiply their forms and counter the strange time-slowing magic of the hounds.

Two cast mirror image, one goes full defense. And one counters a slow spell cast by the hounds.

Concentration check : 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (14) + 9 = 23
Images: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

The hounds continue to attack! Ignoring the mirrored guards two dive into angles where the wall meets the floor, emerging next to Brother Butterfly and Fearless.

Everyone looking at the hounds need to save vs their Ripping Gaze.
Ripping Gaze (Su) 5d6 slashing damage, Fortitude DC 18 negates. A creature that succeeds on its save is immune to that hound's gaze for 24 hours. Damage caused by a ripping gaze can be defeated by damage reduction , but it bypasses DR/magic and slashing.
