"Sure." The Andoren advances slowly after Garinol, keeping an eye out for attackers.

Maddie peeks within the Shrine and sees Garinol praying before a statue. A cold sense of despair passes over her, but seems to fade as Garinol's prayers come to completion. A moment later the ghostly figure of a woman with green flowing hair appears above him, then dissipates into the air with a sigh.

Garinol:
Wasn't aware of the initiative factor (which is a little weird, but whatever). However, with your rolls it really didn't pose much of a threat, so I just got it over with rather than waste time. Plus, there was nothing to see, so chances are you'd get attacked regardless before getting the chance to do something anyway, and the ritual took longer than a round to complete. Anyway, success is yours, the haunt is gone.

"Shall we venture further into the belly of the beast?"

Grand Lodge

Monk 5

Mu Ping brings up the rear.

Unless someone strays, I'd assume group moves together with point character.

Moving on your group enters another open courtyard. The sheer walls of of the area tower as high or higher than the central sanctum’s tall, spired dome on the courtyard’s south end. A wide set of stairs leads up into the sanctum itself, while a lone statue stands out as the only feature of the courtyard, whose walls are encased in thick ice.

The Aspis Consortium camp is still being cut out of the ice, and it is from here that the noise of chiseling, cracking ice, and heaving workers echoes throughout the Temple. Four slaves ill-dressed for the cold weather hack at the glacial eastern wall of the courtyard with rusted picks. If it weren’t for the physical exertion required to make headway in clearing the glacier from the temple, they would likely be shivering, but each is covered in sweat as though working in 90-degree heat.

Their slavedriver is a leathery-skinned man, short and squat, who looks to have just come out of weeks spent under the harsh desert sun of another world. He is dressed in bulky, bone-studded leather lined with furs, and he chuckles as he lashes with his whip at one of the slaves, who has slipped and fallen into the shin-deep snow made of the slaves’ glacial shavings. A tawny hunting cat paces behind her master, ever watchful of the slaves who occupy his attention.

The slavedriver turns to pet his cat and spots your group. The chuckle catches in his throat.
