Focused on Peri, Bellu dashes through the crowd and lashes out with a fist. The strike looks powerful, but stops up short against the sorceress' magical defenses.
Bellu attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
László and Shel are up. Peri will need to make concentration check for her spell if she wishes to proceed with casting. FYI - crowds are considered difficult terrain so 5' steps and charges are not possible in them.

![]() |

Shel withdraws from the larger creature, trying to position herself, so that she can strike the real Bellu next round.
Not sure if I am in range of the eidolon, but if so, and I can, I'll withdraw and move toward Bellu this round. If I am not in range, let me know, and I'll just move and attack Bellu after she closed in on Peri.

Round 1:
László moves around the more normally-sized woman and attempts to take advantage of her distraction facing the large and hostile cleric by planting a dagger in her back.
Dagger attack on Ichon, trying to flank with Yanos: 1d20 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 1 + 2 = 15
Damage, including sneak attack if applicable: 1d4 + 1 + 1d6 ⇒ (1) + 1 + (3) = 5

DM Rah |

Laszlo moves in and gives Ichon a shallow flesh wound. She flinches, but manages to drink the last drop from her vial and fades from sight under the effects of invisibility magic.
The patrons of the Pit begin to take notice of the fight.
Yanos, Haris, and Barlor
Bellu, László, Peri, Shel, Ichon
*Bold indicates who is up
Yanos used a swift action to enlarge himself, but then he began casting the actual Enlarge Person spell as well.
Barlor is at melee, but it will take Laszlo two rounds to get to a flanking position. Normally I would say that he could use acrobatics to get to that position, but due to the crowd creating difficult terrain that isn't an option here.

![]() |

Yanos used a swift action to enlarge himself, but then he began casting the actual Enlarge Person spell as well.
You are correct then.

![]() |

Yanos, I don't think you can threaten areas or make AoOs while casting a spell with a 1 round casting time.
Honestly, I'm not sure. I'm cool if you say no. I see two sets of rules that seem to contradict. Either way, I'd still do the same thing. :)

DM Rah |

Found this under Full-Round Actions:
When you begin a spell that takes 1 round or longer to cast, you must continue the invocations, gestures, and concentration from 1 round to just before your turn in the next round (at least). If you lose concentration after starting the spell and before it is complete, you lose the spell.
You only provoke attacks of opportunity when you begin casting a spell, even though you might continue casting for at least 1 full round. While casting a spell, you don't threaten any squares around you.

DM Rah |

Forgot to resolve Deviation for Haris' thrown oil.
1d8 ⇒ 3 Left
Haris throws his improvised firebomb, sending it spinning through the air, but the flask bounces from a rafter and spins off left into the crowd. A crack and whoosh of fire elicits screams from patrons, and one of them runs out the door aflame.

Barlor swings his enchanted club with skill, but connects with nothing for his effort. Ing scrambles over at his command looking eagerly about for a moment before cocking his head at the dwarf and snorting as if to say "That was the attack command, right? Is this practice or are you toying with me? Do I get a treat?"

Yanos Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 14
Meanwhile, across the room...
Her face showing as much emotion as a porcelain mask, Bellu swings her fists at Peri. Her blows are not made with the grace of a martial artist, but rather a fierce raw power. Even so, it is not strong enough to breach Peri's magic.

Hypnotism is an area affect. Peri would not get to choose who it affects, only which area she targets (a 30ft by 30ft area), and from there it affects everyone within, starting with the lowest HD, and then up to a total of 7HD. If Ichon is in the area, invisible or not, she/it has the potentual to be affected, but as we are in combat, everyone gets a free +2 on the save, and will not stop them from defending themselves. Another note, because the spell causes those affected to be Fascinated, and we are already in battle, it basically autofails.
"Any obvious threat, such as someone drawing a weapon, casting a spell, or aiming a ranged weapon at the fascinated creature, automatically breaks the effect"
Being that she went near the end of the round, and other people had already tried to attack, it might be better to see about changing that action completely, as it would have been obvious before even begining to cast that it had no chance of doing anything at all :)

DM Rah |

Regarding Hypnotism: the area of effect is not a spread or emanation (like sleep), but a certain number of targets within proximity (like haste). You can cast it in combat, but the effect is easily broken if the targets are threatened by you or your allies.
Quote:
Area several living creatures, no two of which may be more than 30 ft. apart.
Peri, you've already committed to the spell. I don't want to coach you but I think it still has potential if you direct it cleverly. Also, completing the spell doesn't take up your actions for this round - meaning you still have actions you can take (move/standard/etc).

I was hoping that it would grab a couple of the crowd members, and Peri was goin to say to them
"Protect us from the ones with the glowing foreheads"
Peri will unspring her wand and attack Bellu*1
1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

DM Rah |

Your fight with Ichon and Bellu now in full swing, the patrons of the bar have taken full notice, and many have begun making wagers on the outcome. A handful are caught up in the effect of Peri's spell, and at her suggestion step forward into the fray. Most of them try to prevent Bellu from pounding Peri, Shel, and Laszlo into the floor, but one actually pulls a dagger and stabs the large woman.
Laszlo coordinates a flanking position with Shel, both of them jabbing with daggers, but only Shel gets through her defenses.
While scanning the Pit for other dangers Yanos notices the distinctly tattooed face of Amukhet in the crowd.

Round 2, Init = 1st ?
Can you describe the area a bit before I post my action. Ichor is Invisible, (as far as we know), still, right? I had hoped to leave 2 squares between me and them in my first action, so they couldn't simply 5ft step to me, but are there other individuals near me? Bystanders or otherwise? I'm concidering attempting to polevault (acrobatics) over people in front of me to get over and establish a lot of flanks, is that reasonable? If so, I'll take a MOVE ation to attempt that, and Standard Action to attack Bellu.
Mentioning to my friends, "There is a marked man in the crowd, " pointing with my eyes so as to not draw too much attntion to him just yet "that has been found guilty. I need to get to him, too. His time for justice is at hand."
Attack Bellu: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25 <with Flanking>

DM Rah |

Peri blasts Bellu with a magic missile at point blank range. The patrons who aren't under her hypnotism spell have backed away, leaving plenty of room for Yanos to get into an advantageous position. Flanking opposite Shel from behind Laszlo and a couple patrons aiding in the battle, he gives Bellu another wound with his spear.
Haris flings a dagger, but too many people are in the way and the throw misses.
Barlor pursues the invisible Ichon, swinging his shillelagh at a suspiciously open area next to Bellu. Ing follows his lead, sniffing at the spot, then goring with its tusks and sending a spray of blood through the air.
Bellu continues to slam her fists about her, one landing squarely into Shel and sending her reeling. 10 HP damage
Concealment: 1d100 ⇒ 34
Concealment: 1d100 ⇒ 72
Bellu attack on Peri: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15 miss

damage: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
Laszlo, Peri, and Shel are up...

That means Shel is disabled.
Shel takes a five foot movement away from Bellu, as she was currently addled. She hoped to pull one of her potions and drink it next round.

Round 3:
With Shel retreating, László finds he's lost his flanker. He takes a short step around the bodyguard before taking a quick stab at her (and likely missing).
Attack on eidolon: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 1 = 15
Damage (if applicable): 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

DM Rah |

Peri sends another magic missile into Bellu, causing her to flinch in the first sign of real emotion. As Shel backs away Laszlo shifts to flank Bellu opposite the dagger-wielding patron, but even with good positioning his attack against the large woman fails, thwarted by what seems to be an armor spell much like Peri's.
With so many wounds, it has become quite clear Bellu is not human - her skin is unnaturally tough, the cuts in it nearly bloodless, and what little fluid leaks from her is almost blue. But just when those wounds seem to be getting severe Ichon's voice is heard chanting the words to a spell and some of them close.
1d10 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Round 3 over. Yanos, Haris, and Barlor are up...

Looked up invis. rules. Looks like I can make a Perception check to negate total concealment (50% miss), but vs +20 to stealth if the target is moving or +40 if they are not (with other modifiers as necessary for sounds or other indicators of location).
Barlor continues swinging in the open air, hoping to land a hit.
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13, Miss % (low = miss): 1d100 ⇒ 53
Club: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8, Damage: 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (2, 5) + 4 = 11
Ing, encouraged by his successful hit earlier, stabs wildly with his tusks again.
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12, Miss % (low = miss): 1d100 ⇒ 72
Gore: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11, Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Well at least the miss dice don't hate me...

![]() |

I'll simply continue to attack, focusing on Bellu for the moment.
Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18
Damage: 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (6, 2) + 4 = 12
AoO 1: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20

AoO 2: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18

"Obviously you see that you are far outmatched, witch. Call off you dog and surrender, and you may live once we have the actual cure. You have my word. Last chance."

DM Rah |

Haris throws away another dagger in a fruitless attack on the invisible Ichon. Barlor and Ing fare no better in theirs.
Yanos' spear comes within inches of Bellu, but glances off to the side at the last instant. Ignoring the close strike she swings a fist into Laszlo (8 HP Damage), then kicks Peri in the chest. (8 HP Damage)
Bellu slam at Laszlo: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25 Threat
Bellu slam at Peri: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22 Hit
Slam Damage Laszlo: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
Slam Damage Peri: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
Critical Confirmation on Laszlo: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6 nope
Of course, the subject is not magically silenced , and certain other conditions can render the recipient detectable (such as swimming in water or stepping in a puddle). If a check is required, a stationary invisible creature has a +40 bonus on its Stealth checks. This bonus is reduced to +20 if the creature is moving.
Barlor (and everyone else) I believe the bold section in the wording above refers to unusual conditions that might reveal an invisible creature, like powder in the air, puddles, rain, etc. One of these conditions might let you bypass concealment, but none of these exist in this situation. Otherwise, I handle invisibility with perception checks vs stealth for the purposes of narrowing down an invisible creature's location by non-visual clues such as environmental disturbances (like gaps in a crowd) and sound (like footsteps or voices). This way you can narrow down the square they are in, but the miss chance for concealment still exists.
Laszlo, Peri, and Shel are up...

Shel pulls a potion of Cure Light Wounds, preparing to drain it the next round, and get back in the action,
Disabled condition sucks, lol. So slow to do anything!
