Cadas |

Well, I am glad ta know that stair is there, but lets wait and finish exploring this level before we go below. Cadas says, closing the door after taking a look/listen.
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22

DM DoctorEvil |

The door to this room opens easily, revealing another storeroom. Closer inspection reveals the more mundane components for glassmaking are stored here. There are bags of sand, lime, and barrels of soda ash in moderate quantity. It looks like this room is used frequently, but does not appear to have had any goblin hands in it yet, as most things are still in order or still closed.
What door next?

Smoke from Two-Rivers |

Smoke is going to chain open doors until something attacks me, we find Ameiko or there are no doors to open. If that puts the party at risk... sadly, that's fine. Smoke doesn't want to wait and do this quietly and tamely if someone's life could be at stake.

DM DoctorEvil |

If i get what your going after, I will describe each room in a series of posts and you can tell me if you want to stop and look around a little more etc even if it's a little out of sequence. OK?
A12- Reception Area for custom or business customers
A13 - Private Office for meeting customers
A14 - File Room - file cabinets fill these rooms with copies of work orders etc
A11 - Meeting Room - staff meeting area
A6 - Dining Room - this room looks as if it has been wrecked by goblins. Chairs are scattered and broken, tables turned over, dishes smashed etc. The blood trail leads down the long hall to the door here, through this room into A5.
A7 - Washroom
A9 - Pantry - this room has also been ransacked by goblins; barrels demolished, sacks of grain torn open; a broken dogslicer is jammed into a partially open crate, most of the food is missing.
A8 - Kitchen - Goblins tore this room apart looking for food as well. Pots pans, etc lie strewn all about
A5 - Dormitory - Staff lived here until goblin attack. It looks as if they were hacked to pieces in their beds as blood and gore are everywhere. The bodies where then dragged or carried to the workshop, creating the blood trails.
A4 - Storeroom - tools cloting, firewood etc are stored here
A3 - Cleaning Closet
A2 - Storage - finished glass products: vases, bowls, cups and the like are stored here.
A1 - Display room - this is the retail shop of the Glassworks. There are racks of display items, fancy bowls, ornaments, etc
Nowhere do you see Ameiko or any sign of her or her captors besides the chaos strewn by goblins. Your search leads you back to the stairs descending into the dank basement. With Cadas' light-emiting shield illuminating the way, you descend into the basemeent (see inset map).
The area you come to is obviously used to store sand and other raw materials. Two wheelbarrows sit against the wall. To the east, an old brick wall has been knocked down revealing an older passage behind which leads south.
Now which way do you want to go?

Cadas |

Without any other clues to help decide Cadas makes the call based on the wide passage. We go Southwest where we can fight two abreast if need be.

Smoke from Two-Rivers |

Smoke nods and allows Rogar to lead the way-- sword still at the ready.

Rogar Stefanssen |

Rogar steps forward next to Smoke.
"Bull, we aren't going to save her by dying. If we rush forward into battle and she's already dead, then we throw our lives away. It we move with caution and are ready, if she's alive we have a chance to save her and if she's dead, a chance to avenge her."
Rogar begins walking forward, using survival to follow any tracks
Survival 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
And keeping his eye out for any ambush.
Perception 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27

DM DoctorEvil |

As you explore the basement storage area further, you find a passage leading east. Shining your light that way, you find 2 doors on the south wall and what looks like another pile of rubble at the far end. Carefully, you make your way down this passage but you see no tell tale signs or clues.
The ceilings down here are low, about 8 ft. The ceilings in the older part past the knocked down bricks are even lower.

DM DoctorEvil |

I had typed a post very much like this one for you guys this morning, but apparently it got previewed instead of submitted. Apologies.
As you move down to the next door, you check it for traps but find none. A quick try of the door, however, reveals that the door is locked.
I will let you use that Disable roll on the lock, which will spring it, if you choose.
As you gather near the locked door, you see that another brick wall has been knocked down as the corridor bends to the north. Masonry and debris lie in heaps on the floor as the work was done quickly and by unskilled hands.
Two more doors are seen along the east wall past the knocked in bricks.

Robin fumbles with the lock for a bit, then hears a tiny click and the door opens. As Cadas shines her light inside, you see the limp body of Ameiko splayed out on the floor. She is bound hand and foot with leather cords, blindfolded, and gagged with a leather thong. She does not move or react to your entry.

End of Surprise Round
Robin and Rogar get the action started in Round 1. Rogar likely hasn't seen the goblins from his position around the corner but has heard their gibbering.

Tinuviel Surana |

Stuck at the end of the conga line o' combat, but can not see anything, no matter how hard she tries. I could send Kvothe... No, the ceiling is too low here. She could get hurt.
Balling her fist in frustration, Boo turns around to make sure no one is sneaking up on her friends from behind.
Kvothe flies from her mistress' hand and hangs a left, the flies back in the opposite direction.
K is heading to A19

Rogar Stefanssen |

Rogar has heard the shouts and glees of the green bastards, but knows not what direction they are coming from.
"Who's being attacked? And do we have numbers?" he shouts.
Rogar's unable to move due to our log jam.

The halfling jester sees the goblins and the mysterious stranger emerge from the adjacent room. Acting quickly, Robin nimbly gathers a pat of butter from his spell pouch and, making the proper incantations, tosses in the air, evoking a mess of slippery goo behind the goblins, but in the area of the stranger who slips and stumbles a bit, but regains his footing at the last moment before falling.
Rogar's concern is evident as he yells out questions about the goblin attack which he can hear, but not see. His efforts to move to the melee are stymied by the close quarters and he slams his shield in frustration.
Blue Goblin readies an action
Yellow Goblin launches itself at Cadas slicing wildly at the Shoanti priestess. The sheer ferocity of the attack allows the creature to get a lucky swipe in, cutting the woman across the forearm and wrist. 2 HP damage
The cloaked stranger backs up through the magically slippery sections without stumbling, and fires an arrow through the crowd at Robin far in the back of the narrow hallway, but the shot is wild and wide.

Smoke from Two-Rivers |

Glassworks Basement - Round 1
Smoke nods, turns, and charges around to the other side!
"Why'd you do this to Ameiko?!" he shouts as he rounds the corner on the only person in the room who's not them or a goblin.

Cadas |

Struck by the little green menace before she could act, Cadas strikes back with her trident before stepping back protectively over the bard while making room for the dwarf to step up.
Trident: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 181d8 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9
She then drops her trident (Free acton) and begins to untie the bard, first removing her gag and blindfold (move action). Ameiko, its Cadas here to help. she tells the bard, hoping she can hear her. Sing for us if you are able. I'll have you free in a moment.

Glassworks Basement - Round 1 - concluded
Tinuviel follows her familiar to to try a flanking manuever on the bad guys. She steps aside as Smoke goes charging past full speed ahead, through the darkness of the storeroom and back around into the debris from the shattered wall and near the hooded stranger.
Tinuviel, how are you seeing in the dark back there?
At the combat site, Cadas lashes out with her trident at the lead goblin who struck her, returning the favor with more force and impaling the goblin on her weapon. Shaking him loose, she steps back into the room and begins ungagging the Tian bard. Looking closely, you see many small slice wounds and even some bite marks on Ameiko's body. She is unconscious and unable to respond as you un-gag her.
Seeing the gap in the line finally materialize, Rogar rounds the corner with shield at the ready, blasting into the remaining goblin with a full fury. The blow smashes the goblins face stunning and killing it.
End of Round 1
You readied action would've gone before Blue's and now you dispatched him so he can take his readied action to Pharasma's judgement. Rogar moves to an 8 initiative count for future rounds. Both goblins are down, just the stranger remains.

Glassworks Basement - Round 2
The hooded stranger drops his bow and spins to face Smoke a high hooking leg kick leading the way. The kick catches the barbarian right under the chin, bloodying his lip and making him see stars for a moment. The cloaked man then moves easily back through the slippery floor to the nearest door, attempting to open it.

Smoke from Two-Rivers |

Glassworks Basement - Round 2
I'm after Rogar, so, I'm going to assume Rogar steps up, grease is dismissed and I can get a flank bonus. Feel free to take it away if you think otherwise!
Smoke reels for a moment before gritting his teeth. "Thanks-- for snapping me out of my diplomacizing mood," he growls.
He surges forward after the man-- his body flickers in the darkness. "I'll counter-point that with some negotiation of my own!"
He feeds his focus into the emptiness in his chest, and feels something reach back out of the nothingness. As he swings his sword, the shadow of a skull with a blade clutched in its teeth lunges out from the air around him, spinning unpredictably towards the silent assailant.

Both are clumsy in the darkness, but his skill outweighs the burden that the environment poses. Unable to wield his greatsword to full effect, he instead leaps and crashes down with it blade-first, the shadow-klar moving to exploit any weaknesses it sees.

Cadas |

Seeing Smoke take a punch to the jaw, and knowing that Ameiko is hurt, Cadas decides to channel, selectively excluding the enemy. After she continues to untie Ameiko.
