Not sure if this can be for last turn or the next. I'll target the square to my east. I wanted to look for things in the fire specifically, not the room in general.

CMB to put out fire with cloak: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23

Cirri's frosty bolt blasts the flames away just in time...

The fire sneaks into spreading just ahead of Telos the way it's written (it spreads as the first actor each round).

1d2 ⇒ 1

Yet, the fire continues to spread back to the very spot that Cirri just extinguished, making its way up the bookcase eagerly searching for more fuel.

Telos grabs his cloak and stops some of the fire near him.

Round 2
10 Aspis Sorcerer : Tries to cast defensively, but fails
8 Keeya : Zaps the fire with rays of frost, extinguishing a square
7 Quinn : Stabs sorcerer (real one) for 5
6 Kyra : Misses sorcerer, but dismisses an image (only 1 remains)
4 Cirri : Zaps fire by bookcase

Round 3
18 Telos : Uses cloak to stop fire near him

Another post coming with the sorcerer's action.

The sorcerer once again tries to work his magic against Quinn, anxiously gesturing and hoping to take advantage of the situation where three of the Pathfinders are occupied with fire-fighting.

Concentration DC17: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27

This time, he manages to get his spell off against the investigator at his feet.

As the sorcerer cast his spell, Quinn was suddenly, intensely aware of the heat and flame surrounding him on all sides, the smoke and foulness of the air. His knees shook for an instant, but by force of will he put that all aside, relying on his comrades to deal with the flames.

With a sneer he flanked the agent and attacked the kalidoscopic assembly of sorcerers again.

Cirri continues to cast ray of frost at the bookshelf, hoping the fire does not spread to the ceiling.

"Kyra, can you conjure water? KO that dummy Aspis arsonist so we can save what's left!"

Question: Can I use Spell Combat to perform a CMB check and cast Ray of Frost at the same time to extinguish 2 spaces at once? I'm stretching it a bit here, but we basically have 1 round until this fire is uncontrollable.

Telos CMB: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16

Cirri manages to do double-duty, blasting away fire with magic while snuffing it out with a cloak. Telos assists while Keeya uses her magic to mimic Cirri, sans cloak-snuffing.

Quinn and Kyra continue to team up against the sorcerer, who eventually collapses under their coordinated efforts.

Finishing up extinguishing the fire is a trivial task once all five Pathfinders are no longer locked in combat.

I assume you'll all take 20 to look for Aram Zey's notes now, which will hit the DC needed.

A thorough search of the room's jumbled contents turns up a secret compartment next to the bookcase that was ablaze (one square to the left of it, actually. With a sigh of relief, you realize had Cirri not worked her dual-fire-fighting magic, it could have easily been compromised and the secrets contained in Aram Zey's notes lost, potentially forever.

Success in E1. Notes secured. Where to now? E2 (Chamber of the Sky Key)? or E3 (the Tapestry Room)?

I imagine Kyra will use Telos's wand on him as you guys move along.

Table GMs - The Sky Key Chamber [Area E2] is now CODE YELLOW

GM Note:

E1: Yellow
E2: Yellow
E3: Yellow

This tall library is ringed by a walkway around its perimeter, which provides access to a second level of towering bookshelves. A broad Qadiran rug leads to a short pedestal within a tall glass case that itself sits within an inscribed circle—all cordoned off by a velvet rope suspended by brass poles.

Several plush chairs and a few low tables bearing curios line the lower floor, and two decorative suits of armor stand at attention, each with a crossbow resting against its shoulder.

Heatless torches blaze with remarkably even light in sconces throughout the room, and a tall pendulum clock against the eastern wall ticks each passing second as its hands move erratically.

As Telos and Cirri crest the doorway, they spot the glass case, but can't quite make out the Sky Key from the entrance.

I imagine you all will head into the room for a closer look...

As you all file into the room, you get an uneasy feeling, like time and space are distorted here.

@Everyone: DC16 Fortitude save or be sickened from the phenomenon.

As you glance into the Sky Key's case, a ghostly image of a Pathfinder appears in the center of the room, where his likeness eerily begins to slide through the display case. His voice echoes as he speaks to an unseen party.

“Oh no, they’ve stolen the Sky Key. It also appears they disrupted the auxiliary stabilizer, too.”

He pauses before continuing.

“Do you feel that? I feel kind of sick all of a sudden. I hope they didn’t try to disassemble it — or worse, bring it too close to the tapestry. Wasn’t that why Zey kept them so far -- ”

The figure’s words go unfinished as he begins to scream and dissolve, fading from view in a matter of seconds.

More coming next post.

assumimg 30 and 40 min duration potions from just before the manusoleum are still active?

According to the scenario, it takes 20 minutes to get from anywhere on the NW campus (where the mausoleum is) to another destination. So, if you drank a potion prior to entry of the mausoleum, I'd say you were only in for a few minutes (which represents that almost 10rd combat and talking to the caretakers), and then it was 20 min to get back the main campus after. Let's say a total of 22.

Then, it takes 10 minutes to get into Skyreach, and the scenario says assume it takes 10 minutes every time you change a location within Skyreach itself:

Traveling from one area to another takes 10 minutes, accounting for
the PCs’ searching numerous rooms and halls along the way or taking many sets of stairs and secret passages to reach restricted areas.

So you're looking at 2 (time spent in mausoleum) + 20 (leaving NW campus) +10 (getting up into Skyreach) +2 (time spent in the library putting out fires and searching it) +10 (time getting from the library to the sky key chamber). Total of 2+22+10+2+10=46 mins since we began the mausoleum.

Quinn steps forward and thrusts his sword into the first of the two soulslivers. It shatters, exploding in reflective fragments.

@Everyone but Kyra: DC12 Reflex save or take 2d6 ⇒ (3, 4) = 7 piercing/slashing damage from the shards.

@Keeya: Don't forget you need to make a save or be sickened from the weird twisting of reality in this room. It didn't matter since you cast a spell, but it could if you make any attack rolls.

The lone soulsliver shimmers for a moment before 1d4 ⇒ 2 copies of itself begin to dance around it - something the Pathfinders are well used to seeing since the assault on their campus began.

You quickly get word back to check on the Tapestry chamber so head that direction.

Another success. Updating in a few with the last room in this Act.

Feel free to mark off wand charges yet again. It takes 10-15 minutes to get from the Sky Key chamber to the Tapestry chamber.

The table at the center of this rectangular room is completely contained within a rune-inscribed circle set into the floor.

Atop the table lies a Kelishite man’s body, spread-eagled and bloodstained. At the far end of the chamber hangs a ragged tapestry torn down its center. A peaceful wood with trampled undergrowth is visible through the tear, though the tapestry clearly hangs against a solid wall.

Several of you recognize the Keleshite man - who appears to be Aram Zey.

A pair of winged owlmen glide about jeering.

"Aram Zey is dead! The jailer is DEAD!!"

A large creature stands like a man, yet is half again the height of most men and covered with a coat of thick white fur. Blood, likely that of Aram Zey, covers its shaggy fur.

It grunts in celebration, shaking both massive arms to the sky.

"Wait, what?" Cirri rubs her ears. "Did you say Aram Zey is dead? And who's this jailer?"

Cirri frowns as she sees the Master of Scrolls bludgeoned to death by a morningstar while crushed under a green dragon dead and prostrated.

"Use great care," he adds.

Looking at the creatures, Telos says "I do not think there will be parlay with these enemies. Let us attack at once while they celebrate!"

The warrior prepares to advance once his allies are ready.

Cirri starts casting Enlarge Person (1 full round casting time). If anyone wants it, speak up now. Otherwise she'll use it on herself.

Ok, so the "15 indicates the owlmen are 15 ft in the air? Does the ceiling allow them to go much higher?

Quinn also has enlarge person, but as an extract, it can only work on him.

You are correct. Initiative is inevitable. They are currently flying 15ft up, which is as high as they can go as the ceiling is 20ft high.

Quinn knows everything there is to know about syrinx. These ones carry quarterstaves and bear unholy symbols of Asmodeus.

They yeti, as a monstrous humanoid would be Knowledge Local DC14 to identify (as I'm considering it common). If you hit DC14, you know one useful thing, plus one additional for every 5 you exceed the DC. Yeti lore.

Blood continues to drip from Aram Zey's body onto the floor.
