We've just leveled up so, 5000xp. The party arrived back at Oleg's four days after Archerfeast, so 7th of Erastus. Any objections?

Is Grigor going to get out of bed, or do I have to cast gentle repose? :P
Grigor
Hmm, my rushed post should have said "Grigor has gone down to the stable with Bjelich, *if that's fine with the DM*," and "...he *might* know more about the horses than everyone else at the fort combined...", and "...after *Bjelich has called* the guard..." I hope you were able to translate from too-hurried-ese into something that wasn't rude. :D

Not that I'm complaining, but IMO the ensuing conversation with Kesten will probably go a lot faster during a live session :) say on June 30th? Kyras, what do you think?
Grigor
Buh.... reading through the thread, I don't see that Bjelich made any accusation against Kesten. He said Kesten's horse was wet, noted that it didn't get wet by itself, and that it was outside of the stable undetected by the guards. He concluded that someone other than Kiph was involved -- which Kesten has already told us he believes. How did Kesten get from there to an accusation? Should I take this as an indication of Kesten's extreme personality, or some kind of "tell"? What am I missing?
I'm late to the table, sorry, very full weekend... should I retcon in some comments from Grigor before Kesten leaves? Particularly, I'd like names of exactly which soldiers were at which posts throughout the night. Presumably, this will lead the characters to find the hidden passageway from Oleg's to the outside.... :D
I'm sure it's just because we're the main characters and we're supposed to go off and run the story, but I find it to be *really* odd that Kesten doesn't seem to care at all that his horse was used without his knowledge and permission. And that he concludes that random assassins seem to be perfectly capable of sneaking throughout his perimeter undetected, and further that it's most likely that an assassin is still within the compound, and he's decided to go have a sound sleep. It's breaking my suspension of disbelief. Again, am I misreading and being too picky?

This is "too much blue", in Pierre's phrase, but I want to make sure I'm communicating this. Suppose you tell the small-town sheriff that his car was driven to the scene of the murder. Consider the following two reactions. First, the sheriff says But that doesn't mean that I'm the murderer. Second, the sheriff says What?! Someone stole my car?! Out of the two, I very much expect the latter, and not the former. The former really says something.
Here's what I want to make clear: I don't think that I'm supposed to conclude that Kesten is hiding something. Instead, my intuition is that we will make progress by questioning soldiers and searching the fort. But a clear interpretation leaves Grigor in a state where he's going to be uselessly fussing about Kesten, distracting us from just getting on with the adventure. I think perhaps this is just an unintended wrinkle in the dialogue, where we as players are interpreting words in two very different ways. Let me know that, and I'll drop it.

Too picky.
You aren't seriously asking me to explain Kesten's motives and behaviour... have we not gone through this many times before with other characters? :[
People don't always act as you think they should. :P
Please trust me that I am playing Kesten true to his personality and goals.
I think you should re-read the exchange before commenting further on how he should have act/reacted. It is entirely my impression that both Grigor and Bjelich were intent on "interrogating" Kesten... at least to the extent that they wanted to be present when he was informed of his horse's condition, presumably to see his reaction... and along with the fact that he was immediately asked to verify his whereabouts/actions and then that was followed up by questioning him as to whether his men are trustworthy.
Grigor had just previously questioned the guard as to where his allegiances lay... what purpose does the question serve if not to ascertain whether he is loyal to Kesten or the crown?
Kesten may be a few things, but an idiot he is not.
Would you have taken the same line of questioning with one of your own if it had been one of your horses? I think not...
You have no "proof" that an accomplice was involved? And yet you presume to question Kesten, and the guards integrity based on a hunch? Do you not think they might be offended? Kesten most of all?
Can you show me where Kesten accuses anyone of accusing him? His statement can also be him merely warning you against shoddy investigative work...
I think Kesten is being very polite at this time.. I would remind you that Kesten technically outranks you... at least with regards to family name and nobility rank. :)
Anyhow... this is more than I intended to say on the matter...
Bjelich Dalibor
Yes, we are still looking at Sunday afternoon until evening; 9ish.
Interrogating is a strong word - Bjelich merely wanted to 'speak' And even if Grigor's intent was to interrogate, how does Kesten come to this conclusion? Grigor posed his question genially :))
When Kesten said,
... and making accusations based mostly upon conjecture...
it sounded to me like Kesten took offence to Bjelich's report and concluded that Bjelich was pointing fingers. Did Bjelich accuse Kesten or is Kesten accusing Bjelich of accusing...I'm still confused about this :\
I got the impression that Kyras was re-affirming a commonly known fact; that Kesten has confidence in his men. Therefore Kyras also has confidence in Kesten's men. Kyras immediately moves on from there to agree with Kesten's viewpoint. This seems agreeable to me but it is offensive to Kesten? Just saying....

We left off with it being my turn. I'm just waiting for our DM to upload the updated map at the bandit fort. In the meantime, just to weave the previous posts with any action that is about to take place, does anyone object to my posted a little recap of our live session?
Bjelich Dalibor
No, we are all 3rd level :) We advanced after Bjelich's second (or is that the third?) near death experience at the zombie mound.
Bjelich Dalibor
Question, since some of Bjelich's wounds have been divinely healed, what happens to the arrows? Do they stay put until all his injuries are healed or are they adsorbed by divine light? Magically pushed from his body to fall on the ground? Too lazy to check if there is anything in RAW at this time. :P
Bjelich Dalibor
I was thinking more along the lines of theatrical fluff rather than returning fire with his own arrows. Of course hitting the Staglord with his own arrows has merit worthy of inclusion in any Rambo flick and I may have to pursue that :)
I will amend Bjelich's actions to account for his tanglefoot bag...
Bjelich Dalibor
Regarding the banditos, as they are no longer on the map and the owl bear is, I'm all for the notion that they have been dealt with. I do remember Bjelich dispatching the one in front of him after Donovan was sent from this plane.
We also cut the session short without finishing the combat due to the time of night. Some items may have not been rolled out of convenience. However, this is just speculation :)
How many are we talking about? Nakpik and Bjelich can try to make quick work of them as long as you guys promise not to get hit by those other two :P
Grigor
I, also, have a recollection that the color-sprayed bandits were dispatched. I believe it was during the combat, over a two round period just before Akiros released the Owlbear, but I definitely can't be sure. In particular, Kyras and Danna were conscious and within sight of these bandits for rounds on end, so they wouldn't have just prowled off to the west while the bandits stirred.
I appreciate that you're trying to get us to construct our posts with more uniformity and informativeness, though. Noted.
Bjelich Dalibor
I noticed in the previous map upload, showing both levels, that there is a catwalk above where the door is. Can Bjelich make a climb check to bypass the door and go directly to the second level? What can Bjelich see above him?
Bjelich Dalibor
I got the impression that Danna was casting a full round spell... :)
Grigor
Oh, I got a text message, and thought it was something really bad... but this? Pfft, -11 HP. This is just unlucky. :)
I have a pet who is in the process of dying imminently. I may not be posting much more than Grigor's exact current state would imply for a bit.
Bjelich Dalibor
Where are you going to drag Grigor to?
Bjelich Dalibor
Danna can summon an animal companion using a simple 1st level spell:
Kijiji - [small]Core pg 275[/small]
School evocation [summon]; Level cleric 1, druid 1, Computer Tech 1
Casting Time 1 to several e-mails/phone calls
Components V, S, DF
Range long (400 ft. + 40 miles/level)
Area: Your house (S)
Duration 3 to 22 years
Bjelich Dalibor
Will we be including the Massive Damage Optional Rule? and won't this make TPKs more likely? I mean our group history doesn't exactly include breezing through many encounters unscathed #P I've 'died' at least four times...sorry! please don't kill me again! :))

Medallion of Reversal
Aura overpowering futzing; CL DMth
Slot neck; Price apparently priceless; Weight —
Description
This item is a large golden medallion with the letters "W", "T", and "F" embossed on its surface. Although the medallion radiates an overpoweringly strong magical aura, scribes have debated for years about its purpose and function, with none able to explain its powers or markings, and many arguing that the medallion has no function at all.
While worn, this medallion causes all d20 rolls by the DM against this character to be reversed, so that a 1 is treated as a 20, a 2 as a 19, etc., until a 19 is a 2 and a 20 is treated as a 1.
Construction
Requirements Bribes, threats, pleading; Cost large pizza? firstborn?
DM oKOyA
Pretty sure I have already used it:P
Pretty sure? Something as rare and as potentially useful as a hero point and you aren't definitely sure? :P
A quick search of this thread shows no expenditures other than Grigor's.
Do you have any idea when/where you spent your last one since levelling up?
It would help immensely if everyone's paizo character pages were up-to-date. :P
