I can't find an avatar I like :(

Bjelich Dalibor |

Are we still going to have a live session this month? I believe the 20th or 21st was on the table.

Bjelich Dalibor |

419 'human' male :P I almost picked the cube :(
Call in sick? or suggest another date ;)
I've Googled 'dot'...I don't think any of the meanings apply to this situation. ???
dot pavēli oKOyA :)

DM oKOyA |

Don't make me ban you too... :)
They are "dotting" the thread. It is forum speak. After you post in a particular thread, the list puts a little black dot by the title to show you that you have participated in the discussion with a post. It will then also update it with (x new) posts etc.
Dotting a thread is essentially saying I plan on participating here, but have nothing to say specifically at this moment.

I checked the inventory, we don't have the 5000gp diamond :( I think we are going to need the help of an old priest too...you wanted an exorcism right?

DM oKOyA |

Looked over Danna and Kyras' character sheets. Only correction I see needed (Kyras) is that you only received 6 animal bane arrows from Vekkel for killing Tuskgutter, not 50. :)
Chris you need to pick an avatar and enter your character stats. It is a simple matter to cut and paste from HeroLab... File-> Output Hero Statblock-> BBCode-> Copy (blue button at bottom)-> Paste

Grigor |

For some reason, the Paizo site is annoyingly not allowing me to post in the "Gameplay" thread. I've been in discussions with our DM, and there is no apparent reason for this. So, we're still blocked for a while. I'll try to work it out tomorrow.

Bjelich Dalibor |

Thanks for putting up the map :)
I don't know about all the other stuff. Other than showing examples of what to see for encounters, are there explanations to follow? Apart from referencing, can we interact with the maps, as with MapTool?

Bjelich Dalibor |

I can't remember the exact watch order; Grigor, Kyras, Bjelich then Danna?

I'm not sure what you are asking...
No you cannot interact with the map. It is a screen shot of a maptool map.
I have reposted the map, as I forgot to turn the labels on.
The "new" content I am mentioning is the 3 settlements in the upper right corner. One is Restov of course. The other two I will retcon some background info into the campaign later today.

DM oKOyA |

Some forum posting guidelines...
Bold is for speech "Quotations optional"
Blue is for OOC text
Italics are for thoughts (if you wish to share).
SA w/sword: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Bigger is useful for shouting, smaller for whispering and spoilers for "private messages". You can label the spoiler for its intended recipient.
Example:
All the formatting codes are in the spoiler button below each post box.
Or you can ask me for formatting tips. :)
eg. the dice "label" on the above green line was achieved by typing:
[dice=SA w/sword]1d20+2[/dice} but with a square bracket at the end.
EDIT: Keep in mind you can edit any post, but only for one hour after initial submitting (not previewing). After that it is locked. It is also etiquette to indicate in the body of the post if you edit, so people who may have viewed it already know that something may have changed. Like I did at the start of this paragraph. :)

Corbius Jank |

Danna can you keep a running total of our experience just so we do not get mixed up?

DM oKOyA |

Yeah photobucket seems to have condensed the image file and there is no way to zoom in easily that I have seen.
I'll look into another hosting site (like ImageShack).
I am keeping the XP tracked in the DM header of each post. Just make sure I add it each time something happens. I usually bold changes to the header... those that truly matter anyways. :P
As I mentioned earlier, and as some of you may have noticed, there are a few more settlements present on the map. Restov is one, and needs no introduction of explanation I would hope. As for the other two, I am going to do a little retcon and make Nivakta's Crossing your home town. It was here that you all grew up or resided in prior to being tapped by the Swordlord's to tame the Stolen Lands.
The other is Ft. Serenko. You would also have passed by/through Ft. Serenko on your way to Oleg's.
I'll share some details on each:

Fort Serenko
This wooden fortification has stood for years on the southern border of Brevoy, but with the growing tensions between Rostland and Issia, the soldiers and scouts stationed here have been recalled to Restov. The fort itself is abandoned—an examination of the fort reveals evidence that it was abandoned in a swift but orderly manner.

The cleric makes a small gesture with his hand and says, ImageShack will do fine.
Who is this stranger! reference to Corbis Jank
Bjelich whips around to confront the strange Magus, SA w/wooden spoon: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19
Formatting test seems to have gone well - thanks Corbis! :)

I've asked this before, but I think at this point it is really important for us to remember what Kressle told us about the fort. I have dug up the PBP from October 2011:
Dovan is a right son of a b*@~*! A dangerous man who delights in torturing any and all that he can! A skeeming snake in the grass! A degenerate of the highest order! Let me just say that I had never worry about being raped by that one... young boys on the other hand... should give him a wide berth. He has a partner in crime as well. A large simple man who goes by the moniker "Auchs", Dovan's play on "Ox", who stills plays with toys and can crush your skull with one swing of his club if you get on his bad side. Dovan makes sure those he doesn't like suffer the wrath of Auchs.
The Stag Lord's right hand man is named Akiros Ismort. He used to be a paladin of Erastil until he killed a husband and wife in a lover's quarrel and fled Taldor in disgrace. Since coming to the Stolen Lands, he has made quite the impression on the Stag Lord, much to the envy of Dovan.
Besides those three, his lieutenants, the Stag Lord keeps a number of other bandits within the fort at all times. Lets see... there is...
Ayles Megesen: Ayles is a soft-spoken man who enjoys the act of torture nearly as much as Dovan.
Cragger Kench: A former cutpurse who the Stag Lord beat senseless for drinking some of his booze. It has left him somewhat dim-witted... not as much as Auchs, but close.
Dirty Jeb Megesen: Ayles’s younger brother, Dirty Jeb likes to think he got his nickname for his penchant for fighting dirty, when in fact the moniker stems from his aversion to hygiene.
Falgrim Sneeg: An older Varisian with grey hair. Former mercenary. Calm as a cucumber in a fight.
Fat Norry: Behind only Auchs in size, Fat Norry somehow never seems to lose weight despite the hard lives we bandits live. That rotund bastard is rarely seen without some sort of food clutched in a greasy hand.
Jex the Snitch: The least popular with the men but perhaps the Stag Lord’s favorite minion is this aptly nicknamed man. His penchant for reporting the other bandits’ mistakes to the Stag Lord is likely to earn him a shallow grave before much longer.
Topper Red: Was a struggling street poet from the city of Pitax. He fled that city when an affair turned sour, and eventually ended up here as one of the Stag Lord's rank and file.
That pretty much covers the regulars. Others come and go... going out to "work" for weeks at a time and then return with tribute to the Stag Lord.
Oh yeah, there is some creepy old dude locked up in the basement of the fort. Not sure what the deal is there, but I've heard rumors that he might be the Stag Lord's father. Guy must really hate his father to leave him locked down there all the time. I think the Stag Lord goes down and beats him regularly too.
Unfortunately, the best method for infiltrating the fort unseen requires entrance through a secret passage from the surrounding hillside that leads directly into the basement. There is a large white rock and some scraggly bushes on the west side of the hill. Just below the big rock is another smaller rock that hides the entrance to a tight tunnel into the fort. It will be tough, but it is preferable to rushing the palisade if you ask me.
The gate is protected by sentries at all time and they use a challenge and pass phrase for allowing entry. The Stag Lord changes it weekly. Currently it is "By the bloody bones of St Gilmorg! Who wants to know?"

RE: Perception checks
Example, hypothetical situation, you reach a river ford and are worried there might be bandits waiting in ambush on the far bank, waiting to pelt you with arrows as you cross the open water. :)
I would roll perception checks for all of you once you had line of sight to the hidden bandits (presumably) who would be using stealth to remain hidden from discovery.
Let's say they are 150' from you when you get line of sight. Your roll is a 10, plus your perception modifier of +5 for a total of 15. The worse roll for all of the bandits hiding is a 5, plus his modifier of +2 plus a distance penalty of +15 for a total DC of 22. You fail to spot the hidden bandit(s). In this situation, if you were to move forward, you would spot that bandit once you had moved 70' closer. I would do this for all the PCs and all the bandits. Revealing each whenever the perception checks equals the DC to find them. Of course if they do something, attack or move for instance, you would likely get another chance to spot them, if a check was even required.
Another example. You enter a room that contains a secret door. I would secretly roll perception checks for everyone that has a chance to notice it (again, line of sight most likely) merely by "seeing" it. If you were to actively search for it (ie using your hands to feel the wall etc) I would give you another check. If you were to specify a particular area, perhaps by being aware of the door's existence and probable location via previous information then I would give a circumstance bonus.
Of course, you are also welcome to take 10 and 20 when appropriate. For example, if you are sure the door exists, and the previous checks have failed to locate it, you could take 20, meaning expending considerable time/effort to find it.
Sound good? Any questions? :)

Bjelich Dalibor |

Not sure how much I should post IC since GM has hinted he'd have a message for Bjelich. Maybe it will change how I see Bjelich preparing to return to the fort. But perhaps Bjelich can be of some help with Topper tomorrow.
Kyras, are you game?

DM oKOyA |

Could I get the updated XP total and the current date for the header please?
And just to clarify, it is MY understanding that Topper was unaware of your intentions with regards to your plan to assault the fort. That he did not actually know about the white rock/secret entrance plan.
Maybe there was a misunderstanding about which conversations were happening in front of him and which weren't. :P
