Round Four

Malnival joins Kelda and Skygni in stony imprisonment. Heng pummels the steel-plated beast's back with a number of crushing blows, drawing grunts of pain, and then Parity brings it down with a final cut across the neck. Spewing blood and noxious green gas, it collapses in a massive heap.
Harlan tries to free Malnival, but the elf remains petrified. Kiyomi moves closer to the melee, continuing to sing and readying her bow.
No longer blocked by the beast, the giant charges Parity directly, disregarding Heng above. It brings its great tetsubo around, slamming Parity hard. The female leaps to swing her nunchaku again at Heng, once again missing. The hobgoblin warriors rush by underneath, two moving to harry Parity with poorly-aimed swings, and the third making ready to smash Malnival's statuesque form.
Giant draws an AoO from Heng. I didn't really think about how high up Heng is... probably 15 ft? The female can easily leap to attack, but the warriors cannot.
Break enchantment won't work on Malnival because the breath weapon is a supernatural ability, however, Malnival does gain a chance to break free each round, if he makes a DC 23 Fort save.

Round Five

Malnival and Skygni remain frozen as stone, but Kelda manages to break free of the effect.
Heng steps down and pummels the monk with a flurry of crunching and freezing hits. She barely blocks one of the strikes before the rest take her down. Parity carves up one of the warriors with three slices, and the hobgoblin dies in three pieces.
Harlan, Kiyomi and Kelda try to protect Malnival, the latter flying into a rage and running across the corridor to hack her sword into the foe's side. The hobgoblin throws down his weapon, but still gets burned, and Kiyomi peppers him with a couple of well-aimed arrows. Still standing, despite his wounds, the hobgoblin defiantly hammers Malnival's form with his shield, leaving a few small cracks.
The remaining hobgoblin and the giant both harry Parity with attacks. He defends with parries and dodges, but the giant connects with one crushing blow, flattening him to the ground. After the giant club is raised, Parity remains there, unmoving.

Malnival and Skygni remain frozen in stone and Parity bleeds. Heng unloads his fury on the giant hobgoblin with satisfying impacts on each hit. The giant bellows an oni curse.
Harlan staunches Parity's wounds with a quick spell. Kelda roars and chops her blade deep into the shoulder of Malnival's nemesis. Spraying blood from the mortal wound, the hobgoblin falls. Kiyomi shifts aim to the remaining warrior, connecting with one arrow.
The giant swings its tetsubo around in a wide arc, back and forth, trying to take down Heng, but the monk remains elusive. The last warrior closes in and slams Kelda twice. In her rage, she barely registers the hits.
Malnival can still act in R6 if he passes his saving throw, ditto in R7.

Malnival and Skygni remain frozen in stone, and Parity lies unconscious. Heng continues to pummel the giant hobgoblin until it finally succumbs, crashing down next to the dead beast.
Harlan moves to heal Parity, bringing him back to consciousness. Singing, Kiyomi runs up beside them both.
Kelda cuts the last hobgoblin warrior with two swings of her sword. Surrounded and outmatched, it backs away from the melee enough draw its dagger and turn it around. With a scream to its goddess, the hobgoblin commits ritual suicide.

Heng looks visibly relieved to feel the healing light wash over him. He bows once again to Harlan and reaches out to pat Parity's shoulder, then stays his hand and speaks instead, "I thought we might have lost you Parity, and Skygni and Malnival as well. Though Harlan's healing talents are marvelous, I do not know that he can bring back the dead. I do not know that the Kaijitsu ancestral box could help us a second time."
Realizing that he may have said too much, Heng awkwardly covers, "Let us make haste to finish cleansing this place of foul demons."

Bridge of Feasting Kirin
After the din of battle settles and you quickly search the fallen foes, you hear no further alarms or approaching enemies. Confident you are clear of trouble for the moment, you look around. The bridge upon which you fought crosses a canal running east out of the falls lake. It is carved with images of enraged kirin devouring a bridal feast.

Ryosanjin's Quarters
The ogre mage and his riding beast lived in this large, square chamber, which is decorated with an array of myriad, somewhat disturbing objects, including figurines, statues and other curiosities. A huge, lice-covered bed squats in the corner. Hundreds of beetles form a living carpet on the floor; although disgusting, they appear harmless.
The clutter of random objects are apparently collectibles and trophies from the oni's past, many of which show signs of great age. A few are unrecognizable. Of value, you note an offering bowl decorated with gold leaf and set with a pair of rubies, a gilded elephant tusk, a fine jade and silver rooster funerary figure, and a superb 10-panel painted landscape screen depicting the House of Withered Blossoms in its heyday.

Hall of Lost Grandeur
The bridge leads to a stone ledge overlooking a cobbled stone plaza in a huge chamber. Forty feet above the ledge, a vaulted ceiling soars over the room, supported by great columns, some of which have long ago collapsed. At one time a stone bridge crossed the chamber from the ledge to the opposite wall, but both the span and the enormous archway it led to have collapsed, leaving a pile of shattered rubble on the floor twenty feet below. Frescoes depicting blinded ettins pulling obscene creatures on vast golden wagons, surrounded by slaves averting their eyes, cover the walls in a riot of extravagant colors. Close to the rear of the procession, you find another likeness of Munasukaru, again with her two human-headed serpents.
Three huge grappling hooks attached to long chains hang from hooks on the south wall along the ledge; dried blood cakes the hooks. A huge stone trough sits against the west wall in the plaza below, fed with cool water from the lake.

Chamber of Long Regrets
The wooden door to this room is swollen shut with dampness and age, and requires a solid hit to break open, which also destroys the door. Water drips slowly onto the damp floor of this bare chamber. Rusted anchor points on the walls and floor show where manacles once lay, keeping victims in place while subjected to the constant drip from above.
A small, wilted bonsai tree in a simple pot sits in the middle of the floor.

The Great Procession of Mortality
Across the remains of a broken bridge, you enter a vast arched corridor which vanishes into the darkness to the east. Innumerable columns depicting writhing oni feasting upon fleeing peasants support the arched ceiling. The walls are covered in crude carvings depicting dragons punishing humans for their frailty and mortality. The floor is worn smooth from heavy traffic, though it is now deathly silent, but for the echoes of your breathing and footfalls.

Heng bows to the newcomer in return, "I pray that you forgive our secretiveness, Kiyomi. Our mission has very high stakes and there are others involved. As I said before, the secret is not mine to tell and I apologize to all for my lack of focus lately. I fear all this time below ground and in such vigorous battle has awakened parts of my own inheritance that have unsettled me..."
Heng cringes again, "Nonetheless Kiyomi, I promise that I will personally vouch for you once Munasukaru is destroyed."
