Melianthe Ssulissien |

"I'd choose the secret door. It's secret, and derro-sized."
"I wish those necrophidians had a spare mace about them," she mutters. "Or a wand of blasting undead. Er, constructs. Abby, let's get to crawling."

Seren nods assent to Mel, frustrated with his own piss poor planning.

Cherias the Kitling |

Cherias bites his tongue, trying to avoid the temptation, but finally gives into it.
"You'd be surprised what can fit into a relatively small opening with appropriate... preparation," he says with a cheeky grin.

Absinthe Mooneyes |

"And yet, one might not be so surprised," Absinthe says, her tone of voice cool, verging on icy. "One would appreciate knowing how we are doing in the magic department. How much healing and combat support have we left? Such is most important for the decision whether to advance or retreat for the day and return tomorrow."

"I've got quite a few resources left, but most are useless against constructs and undead. Can enlarge Segang, enhance a weapon, blind or decieve sentient creatures, and a couple on short term invisibility spells left "

Melianthe Ssulissien |

"I can unleash a swarm of spiders, which would be good for large undead or construct alike. Aside from that, I can only daze non-mindless opponents and have a few non-offense spells such as ventriloquism and an unseen servant. And the hexes, of course, although Misfortune is the only one that works against the mindless.
...the derro is not mindless, of course, and neither are any builders of golems."

Melianthe Ssulissien |

The dusk elf pats her pack. "And scrolls of Web Bolt, Enlarge Person, and Web. We aren't done yet. Just keep Segang alive and find Absinthe something blunt. Besides your head, Cherias, you wag."

Absinthe Mooneyes |

"Very well, then," Absinthe says, her expression inscrutable. "One shall, once again, take point."
The tiefling starts to crawl down the tunnel, rapier already in hand to stab at the first thing she meets. (Really, a bashing weapon would just be too cumbersome in these tight quarters...)
Perception 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18. Add another +1 to find traps.

Cherias the Kitling |

Cherias looks a bit downcast when his joke is not well-received. "I can channel positive energy twice more before needing a rest, and cast three more spells, other than basic orisons. I can also summon creatures, both with my own inherent magic, and with some scrolls, and I have scrolls to shield one of us against a foe."

DM NomadSage |

Absinthe heads into the tunnel, crawling carefully across the dusty stone surface. It heads north before bending around to the left, where a rough slope runs to the south-west. Two side passage run off to the north and south, and you quickly determine they run to secret doors in the ossuary and exsanguination rooms.
Just as you turn to continue south-west, the sound of movement greets. Absinthe sees a pair of derro coming from that direction. Once they spot her, still fifteen feet away, they stop in alarm and reach for their crossbows.
There's a map, but it doesn't conform well to the grid. The important detail is that you are considered 'squeezing', and single-file in the tunnel. In order: Absinthe, Segang, Cherias, Melianthe, Seren.

Absinthe Mooneyes |

Intimidate check: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
Absinthe lunges forward, her eyes glowing like coals as she scuttles towards the derro like some kind of twisted, predatory insect. Her eye-teeth flash as she screeches at the two derro in the dark, rigid language of her unholy ancestors.
I dearly hope they'll be so terrified that they'll cut and run, at least until we can get to a spot where we can spread out. ^^;

Cherias the Kitling |

Intimidate aid another: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17 Cherias isn't sure what Absinthe said, but he assumes it's not "pretty please with sugar on top, let us go by". He tries to add to her ferocious appearance with a growl, and unexpectedly is able to produce a furious-sounding, lionine snarl.

"I'm not sure that's what Segang meant by talking to them. Seren says as he cranes his neck to see what's going on.

Segang |

Segang will roll with the opportunity. Moving past Absinthe and into the area where he can fully stand he will move, assist the intimidate and ready to attack should they close with him.
Assist to Intimidate: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14

DM NomadSage |

The derro is startled by Absinthe's ferocity, and shouts in surprise but still stands his ground. He raises and fires a bolt from his repeating crossbow, driving a bolt right into Absinthe's shoulder. "వెనుక ఇతరులతో, ముందు హేయమైన దెయ్యం-స్పాన్ వార్తలు. మిగిలిన వెళ్ళండి హెచ్చరికలు!" he yells over his shoulder to the derro behind, who then turns and backtracks.
Cherias: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

Since this is a little goofy and the map doesn't line up well, I'm making a few rulings for the tunnel fight. You are all crawling, with the appropriate movement restrictions there. Line of sight is blocked enough that targets have cover behind 1 body, and are completely blocked by 2 or more. You can move through a willing player's space, but it takes an extra 5 ft of movement. Moving through the enemies isn't an option until you kill them (but you can go back and around).

Yellow crossbow vs Absinthe: 1d20 + 5 - 2 ⇒ (14) + 5 - 2 = 17; Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 6 plus poison (Fort DC 14 or take 1d2 ⇒ 1 Strength damage, for 4 rounds or first save)

Absinthe Mooneyes |

Fortitude save 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20.
Absinthe roars with the pain and shoots forward, her rapier leading the way.
Moving as far forward as necessary to get at the Derro who just shot me. Attack roll 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11 for 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7 damage.
DARNIT! >_< *sigh* At least I'm not poisoned...

Cherias the Kitling |

Cherias winces as the bolt sinks into Abby's shoulder, feeling the same wound open on his own. Absinthe was at 22, took 6, is healed by 5, currently at 21; Cherias takes 5.
Cherias takes out his crossbow and loads it, but doesn't have a clear shot.

Segang |

Segang pushes past Absinthe and stands in the wider passage(T17). As he moves he drops his hammer and pulls his long spear. With a powerful thrust he jabs at the derro 10' away. Come here you bugger. I was not bluffing back there!
grab: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 271d8 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11

Depending on how things all fall out, Seren will crawl forward as far as he can without being in melee. Doubt he will be able to act this round.

DM NomadSage |

@ Segang... There is no wider passage you can stand in. The tunnel you are currently in runs underneath the corridor you passed earlier. Its hard to see the flow arrows with the icons on the map. The crawlspace continues through to the south west. Also you go after Absinthe, so won't be able to pass her to engage in melee, though you could use the long spear behind her.

Segang |

Confused. I missed the tunnel was below the other passage. Sorry about that. But I had previously posed above that I had moved past Absinthe and got no comment. Seems like i was skipped or something. So, there is no way to move past someone in these tunnels? Above you say I can. so I do. I have movement to get to within reach I believe. I can still get to T 17 and attack with reach spear, so attack stands, yes?

DM NomadSage |

You weren't skipped, because nothing had happened yet. Once Absinthe set off combat with the intimidate, we went straight into initiative turns. Regardless, your spear strike stands, but you will have to attack through Absinthe's space (IVO U-16).
My bad for not explaining the map cross-under ahead of time. I've looked at it so many times, I forgot that it was extraordinary!
Anything for Melianthe?

OK. Somehow I am missing reading some of the posts. I did not see that Absinthe had moved up until now. Not sure how I am missing stuff unless sometimes I am reading it right after a post and then its edited. Did the threat confirm? if so, that was 33 points of spear damage. Did that drop the little poisoner?

Round One
Initiative Order: Derro [26], Melianthe [22], Absinthe, Seren [19], Segang [15], Cherias [8]
After the derro attacks, Absinthe moves up and stabs with her rapier, deflecting the blade harmlessly off the derro's armor. Segang is only a few feet behind, and jabs past her with his long spear. The derro is caught off-balance, and the spear head drives right through his neck. Segang withdraws the spear and the derro collapses, bleeding profusely.
Melianthe, Seren and Cherias, unable to see much of what's ahead, crawl forward cautiously.
The second derro continues to retreat around a bend in the tunnel, shouting something in his foreign tongue.

Round Two
Initiative Order: Derro [26], Melianthe [22], Absinthe, Seren [19], Segang [15], Cherias [8]
You follow, crawling after the retreating derro. Absinthe comes around a bend and through another ten feet of tunnel before it opens out into a larger chamber. This place is rank with the stink of sweat and mud, but the interior is completely obscured by an area of magical darkness that Cherias's light does not penetrate.
You hear the click of a crossbow, and a bolt hits Absinthe in the arm a second later.

Absinthe Mooneyes |

Absinthe howls at the agony. "The filth is on the opposite side of the room!" she squalls as she collapses to the ground, blood gushing from her fresh wound. "He is alone, but there are at least two more of them somewhere!"
Down to 2 hp. o_o Cherias, Melianthe? Help...

Segang |

You must be missing some healing. You are life linked such that if you are down 5 or more the wound is transferred to Cherias. Unless he drops you this happens every round even if he does not want it to.
Segang moves into the room and into the darkness, his spear before him. Guide me Absinthe.

Seren keeps crawling.

Cherias the Kitling |

I assume that the crit against Absinthe did not confirm. I'm pretty sure you've missed the healing that lifelink gave you, Abby -- you were at 21 last time I checked, and lost 2, so you're at 19. That's enough to trigger lifelink on my turn, so you get another 5 points of healing, bringing you to 24. Cherias takes 5, he's at 11. This is how Life oracles work :D.
Cherias whimpers as another wave of pain hits him, Absinthe's wounds closing and the same wounds opening on the cat-boy's body. He crawls forward into the room, staying behind Absinthe and Segang, and growling with anger, lifts his loaded crossbow and peers through the darkness.
I'm not sure what penalties, if any, apply. If the derro has both soft cover and in melee penalty, Cherias will not shoot. A -8 is too much to overcome. If one of the two applies, or neither, attack as below:
Cherias fires his crossbow: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 2
Confirm: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8 Fail.
If Cherias doesn't have a clear shot, he will heal himself.
CLW: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9

Absinthe Mooneyes |

With fresh vitality burning through her veins, Absinthe bounces back to her hooves and surges forward into the area of magical darkness without hesitation, growling. The instant she crosses into the magical murk, her movements actually become smoother, more nimble!
Absinthe moves to Y8 and engages.
"Your shadows are nothing against this one, deepspawn!" she shouts (incidentally providing a target for Segang to home in on as well), kicking out at the Derro at the end of her tumble. "Nothing!"
Unarmed strike 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13 for 1d3 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6; damage bonus due to fighting in magical darkness, thanks to Nightmare Fist. Add another +2 if the Derro is shaken, frightened or panicked. Acrobatics to get here: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12; +2 Nightmare Fist-related bonus to Acrobatics already figured in.

DM NomadSage |

Melianthe's and Cherias's inputs are hindered by your being 'prone', which takes another action to stand. You can still cast your respective spells, but keep that in mind for next round. Same applies to Seren when he is free of the tunnel...
Round Three
Initiative Order: Derro [26], Melianthe [22], Absinthe, Seren [19], Segang [15], Cherias [8]
Crawling forward, Melianthe looks for an opening, which finally frees up when Absinthe moves into the darkened area with Segang in tow. From the tunnel opening, she casts her hex but the derro wills it off.
Cherias and Seren crawl up through the tunnel, the former taking a moment to heal himself.
The derro spins away, turning to fire again and hit Absinthe with another small bolt.
A secret panel opens up behind Segang, revealing a second derro wielding a hooked polearm. It drives the blade into the blind man's back.
Segang hears the sound of a scraping rocks behind him a moment before a cold blade pierces his back, accompanied by a cruel laugh.
Inputs for R4?
Red crossbow vs Absinthe: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17; Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 5
Blue aklys vs Segang: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23; Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 4 plus Sneak Attack: 1d6 ⇒ 2

Cherias the Kitling |

Crossbows can be fired while prone, incidentally. Lifelink will do 10 points of damage to Cherias while healing both Absinthe and Segang by 5, so they're both at where they were before being attacked. (24 and 39, respectively.)
Cherias feels the bite of wounds flooding his body as he absorbs the pain from Segang and Absinthe. He whispers to Melianthe, asking her to step forward and to the side, and when she does so (assuming she does) he will move forward and shoot from prone at the first Derro they saw. Crossbow at Red, using previous attack roll if I can.
During the coming actions by the enemies, if Absinthe and Segang both take enough damage to put them more than 5 hp down, Cherias will drop the lifelink as an immediate action from Segang.
