Noticing what the other hobgoblin did, Lucrezia moves over to attack him.

Hafdan nods to Marc, shifting slightly to the side to better scissor the hobgoblin between them before lashing out.

The description above is me asking Marc to 5-foot step, if needed, to allow me to do the same to get into flanking. Under that assumption.
Round2:
Full Attack the hobgoblin with the sword.
Primary attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3, Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6 + (sneak attack 1d6 ⇒ 1)

Round 1 - Initiative: 7, AC: 12, HP: 14/14

Unsure what their opponents can do Zephyr hurls a tiny blast of lightning at the closest of the hobgoblins.

1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18
1d3 ⇒ 1

Round 2 - Initiative: 7, AC: 12, HP: 14/14

Zephyr draws a pinch of spell reagent from a pouch and watches the spellcasters closely, preparing to distract him if he tries another incantation.

Ready to disrupt by Greasing whatever reagent/focus he draws - DC: 16

End of Round 1

Zephyr is able to damage the sword wielding hobgoblin with her jolt of lightning, though Lucrezia's first attack misses.

Round 2

The onslaught of blows from Hafdan, Raven, and Marc combined with the deadly arrow from Lucius are able to fell both hobgoblins before they can attack again.

On the bodies you find one suit of chainmail, one breastplate, one heavy steel shield, one greatsword, and one masterwork morningstar. There is also a holy symbol of Lamashtu, a spell component pouch, and 32gp.

Marc quickly packs up the gear and tosses the holy symbol, pouch, and gold to Lucrezia. They sure are determined.

If anyone wants the morningstar, feel free to take it.

Chainmail (150g, 40lbs)
Breastplate (200g, 30lbs)
Heavy Steel Shield (20g, 15lbs)
Greatsword (50g, 8lbs)

Zephyr checks the goblinoids for a pulse, believing a survivor to question would be helpful.

Alright. Let's get moving.

What time of day is it?

At this point it is late morning/early afternoon.

As you all head back towards town, you start to hear shouting in the distance when you near the edge of the forest. Once you are out of the trees and can see more clearly, you can tell that there is smoke rising from some of the houses at the edge of town. The sounds of fighting become obvious, though it sounds as though they are farther in, closer to the barricade, than the smoke.

You eventually reach the edge of town and find that the fires are confined to homes that were already abandoned outside of the barricades. Before you can reach the main fighting however, you run into a group of medium sized humanoid zombies. There are three that look diseased and two that seem "normal" and when you notice them coming towards you, they are about 40ft away.

No, no, you're absolutely right. I actually don't know what I was thinking given I was aware they went before us and we'd be in melee. Sorry about that. Though just to note, *I'm* not actually all that worried about Raven running into combat. Marc just hates rushing in, even when it's warranted.

Just a note - while the zombies can charge, they are staggered, so they would only get their base speed not double so couldn't reach you guys in a single charge. Also, Hafdan, never got an action from you so I'll stick it in to Round 1, but don't want to delay any longer on moving through this.

Round 1

The zombies simply shamble 30 ft forward before Marc and Raven close with them. Raven misses, but Marc strikes one of the zombies, damaging it. One of Lucius's arrows finds its mark and while the creature is not down, it looks like it is near falling apart. Lucrezia and Zephyr miss their targets in the whirling melee that has begun.

Oh, I was confused by the description. I thought at least two were the faster variety of zombie that we ran into. Though I'm not sure why I was confused looking back on it. Apparently that was an off couple of days for me.

Raven and Marc then destroy another of the diseased zombies, before Lucius and Zephyr take down the final diseased zombie.

Everyone in melee (aside from Hafdan) needs to make 2 DC12 Fort saves to avoid the zombie rot and Marc needs to make a third from the slam attack. And to be clear, all that remains are the two normal zombies.
