Round 1
The ankheg recoils from Raven's attack, hissing and attempting to bite him in return, though it looks heavily damaged. Its bite savages Raven's torso, acid eating into him as it grabs him in its mandibles.
Bite: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
Damage: 2d6 + 4 + 1d4 ⇒ (5, 1) + 4 + (2) = 12
Grab: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (12) + 11 = 23
Raven, you are now grappled.
Marc is also able to connect with his target who shouts something in goblin before sneering and attempting to bring its greatsword down on Marc's head, but the blow is deflected by Marc's shield.
Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16
Marc Baradin
Round 2 Initiative: 18 (+6), AC: 21, CMD: 20, HP: 21/22, Conditions: Inspire Courage
Marc slashes again at the humanoid, and, if it falls, he moves to engage the other creature. Using a standard action to attack the hobgoblin and saving a move action just in case the guy drops.
Attack with Longsword (Power Attack, Inspire Courage): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22
Damage with Longsword (Power Attack, Inspire Courage): 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
Lucrezia Villanova
Round 2 Initiative: 9, AC: 16, HP: 13
1d20 + 3 - 4 ⇒ (8) + 3 - 4 = 7
Lucrezia draws her bow and attempts to shoot the beast, but her shot goes wide.
Lucius Cassius
Round 2 Init: 20 AC19 HP 18/18
Lucius fires a pair of shots aim at the beast's hide. Taking deadly aim, he attempts to slay it.
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19
1d8 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
1d8 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
One of his shots connects while the other hits nothing but air.
Hafdan Jelspar
Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Having circled around for a better position, Hafdan will move out of the shadows and step up behind the goblinoid creature, flanking it with Marc.
Round 1 would have been a double move to get into position.
Round 2:
Move action to get into flanking.
Single attack(includes inspire courage bonus): 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 4 + 1 = 13 (15 with flanking), Damage: 1d6 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 3 + 1 = 5 +(sneak attack 1d6 ⇒ 6)
Raven Hawthorne
Round 2:
3/15 hp, Inspire Courage, AC 17/11/16, CMD 17
Raven grimaces in pain, but as he has no intention of becoming a tasty treat for an overgrown insect, he adjusts his grip on the longsword for a one-handed attack, and swings at the creature grappling him!
Longsword: 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 5 + 1 = 13, for 1d8 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 4 + 1 = 7 Slashing damage.
Bealzius Cremnor
Round 2 Initiative 8, AC 12, hp 14/14
Fiendish Dog: Initiative 8, AC 13, hp 13, rd 1/2.
With an infernal word, Bealzius sends the beast snarling at the Ankheg, attempting to distract it from Raven long enough for him to get a good hit in or retreat, as necessary.
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19
1d6 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Bealzius himself conjures a glob of acid from the lower hells, flinging it at the closest target.
1d20 + 4 - 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 - 4 = 3 (if in melee)
1d3 ⇒ 1 acid

Round 2
You miss anyway, but Raven, you are at -2 to attack rolls to do anything but attempt to grapple or break the grapple due to the grappled condition.
Marc is able to dispatch the hobgoblin before moving to assist with the Ankheg. Lucius wounds the creature, the insectoid thing being finally brought down by Bealzius's dog and Hafdan's strike. Before it falls however, it releases Raven and skitters to the side, unleashing a line of acid.
The line touches Raven and Lucius and does 4d4 ⇒ (2, 1, 4, 4) = 11 damage (Reflex DC 14 halves).
You can all take 400XP. In searching the bodies, you a suit of studded leather, a masterwork greatsword, and 200gp.
Lucius Cassius
Lucius attempts to dodge out of the way of the acid.
Reflex Save
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
However, his reflexes are not quick enough as the acid sears his skin and burns some of his clothing."Well, I was gonna get hurt one of these days. I just didn't think my clothes would suffer. This was my favorite tunic too." He says rather sarcastically.
Raven Hawthorne
That is true, but the Ankheg has a -4 penalty to Dexterity because it is grappling Raven (and therefore also has the Grappled condition), giving it a -2 modifier to AC.
Reflex: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6.
Raven tries to dodge out of the way of the stream of acid, but the bite from the 'insect' slows him enough that he is unable to dodge out of the way...
...and falls to the ground, unconscious.
Stabilize: 1d20 + 1 - 8 ⇒ (5) + 1 - 8 = -2 Vs DC 10... drops to -9.
Lucrezia Villanova
CLW 1 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
CLW 2 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
Lucrezia gives a little gasp of concern when Lucius is struck by the acid and begins to look at his wounds, but quickly realizes that Raven may be dead she rushes over and casts her two remaining spell on him. Take back 13hp
Looking back over to Lucius and frowns, "I hope you're going to be ok because I'm out spells now."
Addressing the group, "Shall we head back to town for the evening to heal up and check the marker tomorrow?"
Raven Hawthorne
Raven's eyes flutter open, and he directs a sickly smile of thanks to Lucrezia.
"Thank-you. I will take it from here..."
CLW: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8.
12/15 hp
Once his wounds have been mostly dealt with, Raven shrugs.
"I still have some healing left (two unused 1st level spell slots), so I can continue, but I will bow to the consensus of the Party."
When Lucius' injuries are brought to his attention, however, he willingly pours healing energy into him.
CLW: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8.
"Correction: I have slightly less (one unused 1st level spell slot) healing remaining."
Lucrezia Villanova
How far away are we from the point on the map?
"I'm glad you're alright. I would much prefer it if you didn't try to die on me, I rather like having you around."
Lucrezia Villanova
Lucrezia blushes faintly, begins to say something else, but stops and appears to be at a loss for words in regards to you. So she uncertainly turns back to the party and asks, "Do we continue on with just one healing spell left? Odds are the area will be booby trapped and more of us will likely get hurt again."
Lucius Cassius
"I'm okay with whatever you all decide. I can still fight, but if you want to rest, I won't object to it."
Raven Hawthorne
Finally able to take a look at what the large goblinoid was carrying, Raven eyes the greatsword appreciatively.
"Would anyone mind if I wielded that blade?"
When Lucrezia poses her question, he stops for a moment, then adds:
"I hate to admit it, but it probably would be wise to retire to town for the evening, and approach things in the morning once we have a full complement of spells. If more than one of us needs healing, we would be in trouble if we continued on today..."
DM Morvius
As you turn to travel back, you hear movement from closer tot he second nark. Nothing comes within sight and nothing seems to follow you as you leave, but it seems obvious that the sound of fighting has roused at least something else to action. The forest still seems empty on the return trip however, the trails you have left still not further disturbed. Upon return to the barricade the townspeople continue their normal pattern of keeping their distance, but it seems that their patrols have started at least somewhat earlier this evening.
Raven Hawthorne
Raven will attempt to hail one of the townsfolk.
"Good day; you seem to have started your patrols a little earlier than usual. Has something happened?"
Raven Hawthorne
Raven nods.
"That is perfectly understandable. I just wondered whether it was something else, and whether we could be of assistance. I will not trouble you any further."
He then turns to the others.
"I, for one, would appreciate a good night's rest; then we can tackle that second marker..."
Lucrezia Villanova
"Agreed. Let's fix up something to eat and get to bed early. We can rise with the sun and get on our way to the second marker knowing we will have plenty of daylight left to get back to here. Shall we keep the same watch assignments?
DM Morvius
During his watch, Raven notices that there is definitely movement farther out in the town. Nothing seems to approach all the way to the barricade and it doesn't look as thought the patrolling townspeople notice anything either, but there is clearly something attempting to quietly enter the homes at the edge of town.
Raven Hawthorne
Over breakfast, Raven shares what he noticed.
"It seems likely that we have stirred-up the metaphorical hornet's nest... I think the sooner we visit and clear-out all of the markers, the better."
Lucrezia Villanova
"Attempts at stealth means it was not zombies, so most likely goblins or hobgoblins. I wonder if they could be searching for the papers and scrolls we took? Well, let's finish up with breakfast and get going to that second marker.
Will I need to roll again or is the other days roll still good?
Raven Hawthorne
"I don't think anything got within the barricade; it looked like most of the attention was focused on some of the outlying houses. I suppose we could have a quick look at a few of those on our way out of town, just to be on the safe side..."
Lucius Cassius
"We should go check it out in case whoever/whatever it is wants to threaten the people here."
Raven Hawthorne
"Well, it was fairly dark last night, but I know that I saw movement around at least one of the houses..."
He then gestures towards one of the houses, and begins moving in its general direction.
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26.
Lucrezia Villanova
Lucrezia follows looking for signs of any recent trespassing.
Perception 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
