Ameiko nods at the questions "I was coming from down south...around the start of brinestump marsh. I was attending to some...personal business. It wasn't successful so I was on my way home when I was attacked...I had been distracted so I'm not quite sure how far out of town I was, I'd guess about 30 minutes."

Andrisel |

Andrisel nods, "A dangerous area. You know better than to travel near there alone or distracted, Ameiko." she chides her friend good-naturedly.
Grabbing her Mother's sword from where it leant against the wall, Andrisel turns to the others, "Let's not tarry any longer , else signs of Ameiko's attackers may fade."
She straps the sword to her back, and waits, arms crossed.

Tarvinda Darvelle |

Tarvinda is puzzled by the stance of the elf, but like her she expects to leave soon to find some clues as to what happened to Ameiko. But before they leave, it is only right she gets the blessing of her mentor Shalelu. She stops by Shalelu and tells her where they intend to go, offering to Shalelu the chance to accompany them, her superior skills might be useful, and Tarvinda might learn more of her forest skills.
After finding all she can about the area from Shalelu, and some information about the brinestump marsh that her guardian would know, she stands by the elf, "Yes, it is time we moved on to discover the truth of the attack."
Diplomacy to gather info from Shalelu 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10

Ayame Kaijitsu |

Ayame gave a nod to her friends before speaking "If we're heading out to the marsh would you all mind if I stopped by the Rusty Dragon to get my koto? I left it there when I ran here." She told the group.

Ichirou Yoshida |

Ichirou just sighed ever so slightly and smirked at the sudden desire to seek out Ameiko's attackers. He wished to right the wrong that befell her as well, but with the goblins growing bolder, perhaps help was needed. With Shalelu only just recently healed and Ameiko in her condition, maybe someone else this time. "perhaps a visit with Sheriff Hemlock could also be in order. If we can light a fire under him, we may get more help on such a task. At least long enough to keep some of those goblins preoccupied." he made mention, but thought about it for a second at least not right away, but soon.
Gathering his things, he first quickly disposed of the breakfast dishes before joining the others. "I don't see why not," he said as he turned to Ayame. [/b]"always better to be prepared."[/b]

Ayame Kaijitsu |

"A koto isn't a weapon Tarvinda-sama. It's an instrument." Ayame told the paladin with a small laugh. "I've been playing it since I was small." She shrugged.

Shalelu_DM-Mathpro |

Shalelu looks at the others gathered around and smiles "I am coming with you, though I agree that we should seek out the Sheriff on our way out. I don't think he'll spare anyone to help but he should be made aware of what has happened. Those of you thinking I should stay behind should quickly rethink that argument and spare me the words because I won't listen...I need to get retribution...I mean to get to the bottom of the attacks."

Ayame Kaijitsu |

"Magic." Ayame answered. "I can put magical power into my voice and my koto music." She explained with a smile. "It seems to inspire those around me a bit."

Tarvinda Darvelle |

"You're a plucky girl who goes into battle with just her magic, music and instrument, Ayame." smiles Tarvinda, which gets wider as Shalelu is determined to join them all on the trip out of town. Tarvinda says nothing but almost skips in her armor as they make their way to the sheriff and the Rusty Dragon to pick up the instrument.

DM Mathpro |
So everyone heads over to the Rusty dragon to get Ayame's Koto and then over to the Sheriffs office. He smiles as you enter. "Glad you stopped in I was just going to go see you. With the attacks last night we have decided to reinstate the bounty on goblins. Those brave enough to partake will receive 10 gold pieces for every relatively fresh goblin ear they bring to me. If you can bring in the head of the Licktoad chieftain I will give you 300 gold pieces. Is there anything else you wanted?"

Ichirou Yoshida |

Ichirou stifles a chuckle when it came to the discussion between Tarvinda and Ayame, but he still smiles a little since it was entertaining watching little Ayame give a paladin what for. "clearly you haven't been in the rusty dragon during one of her stronger performances." he said with a smirk to Tarvinda and calmly followed them out.....
When they entered the Sheriff's office, Ichirou was pleasantly surprised by the words he heard. Hemlock not only reinstated the bounty, but also was going to tell us today? he thought with a slight smile. "This is perfect, Hemlock-san. We were actually on our way here to see what you would do. Only other thing we would need would be knowledge of who knows the area the best." he then paused and glanced at Shalelu. "or at least, someone who knows of the parts that our brave Shalelu-sama doesn't. he then smirked.

Tarvinda Darvelle |

"To bring justice and be rewarded for such, it is not something I have to think about. It is with pleasure I will bring you goblin ears and the head of their chieftain, if Sarenrae wills it. Sheriff, count me in. If you have a map of the area, so we can find them quickly, it will help us if we get separated from Shalelu. She expressed a will to seek out those that attacked Ameiko." The paladin, stands upright and proud in the sheriff's sight, trying as best she can to show her worthiness for such a task.

DM Mathpro |
The sheriff ruffles through some papers on his desk and then through some drawers until he finds what he's looking for. He hands a map over to Tarvinda. "Its not perfect but its what the fishermen to fish the swamps have drawn us. As for someone know knows the swamp that would be Walthus Proudstump, half ling ranger and self-avowed
snake wrangler. I should warn you his time alone in the swamp has done things to his mind...he's a little off...and doesn't take to strangers in the swamp to kindly. But if you are able to get on his good side, no one knows the swamp like he does."

Ayame Kaijitsu |

Ayame looked over Tarvinda's shoulder at the map. "May be while we are out I should try and make a better map... Something that may actually be a bit more useful." Ayame said before she looked to Sheriff Hemlock. "You said Walthus Proustump yes? We should probably find him first." Ayame agreed.

Giovanni Xando |

Knowledge (Local): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18
Giovanni quietly observed the interaction with the Sheriff so quietly and still it was easy to forget he was there. The name mentioned sounded vaguely familiar and Giovanni's eyes fluttered for a moment as he traced the mental pathways to find what he knew of the man.

DM Mathpro |

Shalelu_DM-Mathpro |

Once you are done with the Sheriff you are free to set off to the swamp. You travel for about an hour before Shalelu stops you. She gets a horrified look on her face for a moment and then its gone. She moves off the road and bends down over a body. "This is were it happened...collect the ears if you wish for the bounty."

Tarvinda Darvelle |

"It was goblins wasn't it? I'll help find the tracks if I can." says Tarvinda seriously, her mind ready to whirl into action and take down some goblins that caused harm to her friend. "Someone take the ears, I'll get them if you are squeamish. It will be good to take proof that Ameiko defended herself well." She starts to look around the area for useful tracks, but keeps tripping on the roots of the brackish bushes and stumbling, not able to find any tracks.
Survival 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7

Andrisel |

Andrisel , all business, pulls a dagger free and begins to methodically slice ears from the dead goblins. She then takes the timeto pat the corpsed down, checking for other valuables and identifying marks or items.
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26

DM Mathpro |
Andrisel you are able to find 8 corpses and harvest 8 ears. On their bodies you find:
8 shorts swords
6 spent firework tubes
8 sets of leather armor with various burn marks on them
4 light wooden shields with various burn marks on them
3 short bows
60 arrows
a finger
a lock of black hair
a half eaten sandwhich with worms crawling out of it
what you assume is a dogs stomach, with teeth marks in it around one of the goblins necks
They all have a brand on their right arm of a giant toad.

Giovanni Xando |

When they get to the clearing and see the bodies, Giovanni will approach one and squat down, examining the corpse without touching it.
Knowledge (local): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11 Seeing if I know anything about the tattoo they bear or anything about where their tribe might call home.

Andrisel |

Andrisel piles the useful items into a sort-of orderly heap, then rocks back on her heels, "These weapons seem a bit too civilized for most gobs, wonder where they got them."
She picks up the finger and lock of hair, holding them in her hand contemplatively, thinking Is there anyone out there that would like these back?
Prodding the 'stomach necklace' with a boot, she eyes Giovanni, "You seem a knowledgable sort, Giovanni, what do you make of this?"

Andrisel |

Shrugging at Giovanni's lack of interest in the stomach necklace, Andrisel cuts the stomach open to see if anything of interest lays inside.
She then pulls the bows from the pile of gear and tests the pull of each , taking the best of the three. Grabbing a handful of arrows and a quiver she stands and covers the gear with some leafy branches.
"This might be still here when we return. Might fetch a few coins back in town." she mutters more to herself than the others.
She walks over to Tarvinda and Shalelu, "So Shalelu, did you kill all of these? I'm sure there's more out there in the swamp. We should consult the halfling, he'll know where they're at."

Tarvinda Darvelle |

As Tarvinda sees the stack of weapons, she asks Andrisel which is the best of the shortbows to pick, before bending down and trying it. She to takes some arrows and a quiver. "If no-one minds, I could use a weapon with some range to it, not my best option but against flying foes an obvious requirement." She waits for any reaction, before joining Andrisel and Shalelu again.

Andrisel |

Andrisel helps Tarvinda pick out the best of the two remaining short bows, "A sound strategy Tarvinda." she says, holding out the bow to the Paladin.
GM, what is the general condition of the weapons? Being a tribe of swamp dwellers, the gobs would need to maintain the weapons quite assidiously ...not really a goblin trait :)

Shalelu_DM-Mathpro |

Shalelu looks over the weapon pile "What would anyone want with this junk. Look at those swords they barely have any edge to them and those bows...well you picked the three that will fire, the rest of them are best used for kindling." At Tarvinda's question she smiles "Yes onto the swamps and yes I killed all of these...they made the fatal mistake of hurting a friend...I'd do the same thing for all of you."
The weapons are in pretty bad shape and sized for goblins. The bows would be equivalent to short bows for any of you.

Andrisel |

Andrisel smiles at Shalelu's declaration, it was something she could relate to.
Looking down at the poor excuse for a bow in her hand, "Well, it will do for now. Lead on, Shalelu."

Ayame Kaijitsu |

Ayame looked to Andrisel, her hand gently tugging at the woman's sleeve. "Andrisel-sama, why don't you use these arrows? They may help a bit more then those ones." She told her as she handed her a quiver full of arrows.
Ayame gives you 20 durable arrows.

Ichirou Yoshida |

Ichirou left the studying of the corpses and weapons to the more capable as he kept an eye on the surrounding area just in case. when the combat capable weapons were presented, he paused briefly and shook his head. You have a good point Tarvinda-san. I'll do the same before we leave.
Ichirou picks up another shortbow and a set of arrows
standing nearby Shalelu, he took a quick glance over to the bow and gave a shrug before glancing back to her and following almost side by side to shalelu, keeping an eye more on the surroundings than the path they were taking. I'm surprised nothing from this swamp tried to dispose of the bodies over the night.
I also must apologize for the silence. spring break was crazy for me as well

DM Mathpro |
You make your way south on the lost coast road and eventually you see the well travled path break off and head into the swamp. As you follow it you come to a moss covered bridge over a stream in the swamp, some planks are missing out of it. You can cross the bridge but doing so will require a reflex check to keep your feet on the slippery moss and to not break through any of the other boards. You can also try to cross in the stream but Desna only knows whats "swimming" in there.

Andrisel |

"I'll check it out." Andrisel says, making her way across the bridge carefully.
Reflex: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
But she stepped on the wrong board....

Giovanni Xando |

Giovanni won't go first, he instead chooses to watch and memorize the foot placement of whoever makes it across successfully first. Once someone has made it across, he follows imitating their every step.
Reflex: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20

Shalelu_DM-Mathpro |

Shalelu goes after Andrisel slips, stifling a bit of a snicker. "Come now Andrisel its not that difficult you just need to mind the moss and broken boards." As she talks she almost steps in a hole but notices at the last moment and makes it safely to the other side.
Reflex:1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11
Its DC 10 to make it safely to the other side.

Ayame Kaijitsu |

Reflex: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23
Ayame skipped across the bridge with ease, a smile upon her face. She looked back to her friends, giving them a playful laugh. "Or just have enough grace." She said as she as she put her arms behind her back.

Ichirou Yoshida |

Ichirou raises a brow and snickers not at Andrisel's mistep, but at Shalelu's comment. "sure, moss and broken boards. this bridge is in dire need of help. now watch me mess up as well." as he begins moving across.
reflex: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
as if predicting his own heavy armored fate, he slips as well

Andrisel |

Andrisel smiles ruefully and rubs her shin where it had hit a more solid piece of wood.
"Indeed, it seems more moss than wood at the moment." she says, finally gaining the other side.
She looks out into the swamp, alert for any dangers.
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18
