Backstory:
Evening had fallen, the sun put to rest. The Kaijitsu manor was mostly silent till the front doors burst open. Ameiko Kaijitsu stepped in as a few of the servants swiftly came running to the sound. "M-my Lady, it is nice to finally see you- One of the servants was stopped short by Ameiko's demands "Where is my sister?! I want to see my sister." Deturmand, Ameiko made her way to the stairs that lead up to the second story of the house where Ayame Kaijitsu, youngest child of the Kaijitsu line, room was kept at the end of one hall. Ayame, whom had awoken from all of the sound in a normally quiet house, was stepping out of her room dressed in her sleep clothes. A plain white kimono.
"My Lady, surely this can wait till morning?" A servant asked as Ameiko rounded the corner of the hallway "Lady Ayame went to bed not long ago."
"I don't care, and no it cannot. Now get out of my way please." Ameiko stated as she pushed the servant aside, though not in a way that would be too rude.
Ayame seemed at a bit of a loss when she saw her sister. Ameiko never came to the manor any more, and what time they got to spend together was always at Ameiko's inn the Rusty Dragon. What would bring her up all this way this late at night? Soon Ayame didn't have to wonder for her sister stood before her. Dropping to her knees to embrace her little sister. Only fourteen at the time to her sister's twinty Ayame was still rather short only just reaching five foot. "Onee-chan... What is going on?" Ayame asked having been broken from her foggy sleep state. "A-Ameiko.... Onee-chan are you crying?" Ayame continued when she felt her sister hug her tightly.
"Y-You're okay... He didn't hurt you... Thank you." Ameiko muttered through tears. The Kaijitsu line had been plagued with trouble for years, and now all that remained of this line was two: Ameiko and Ayame. Six years apart the two had been, and what little time they had spent together was gone when Ameiko fled the Kaijitsu manor after a very long and angry argument with their brother Tsuto. The time in which Ameiko was away left Ayame with their father Lonjiku and mother Atsuii, and though the two didn't always get along Ayame was loved by her mother enough to make up for the arguments between her parents. Though she saw less and less of her brother Tsuto as he had been shipped off to the Turandarok Academy and only rarely visited by Ayame. After being the cause of why Ameiko left Ayame stopped visting Tsuto entirely. Then Atsuii died. Ameiko returned from her time as an adventurer for the funeral. It was the worst day of Ayame's life.
There in the funeral Tsuto lashed out, saying it was their own father Lonjiku who was the cause of Atsuii's death. Ameiko rose to their father's defense even with how little she liked him. But Lonjiku needed non to defend him. The argument ended when Lonjiku almost broke Tsuto's jaw with his cane. Ayame, horrified at the act, screamed at all three of them.
"STOP IT STOP!!!" Ayame cried. "Mother is dead! Don't you understand that! We're all we have left... We can't keep doing this... It isn't what mother would have wanted!" She begged.
Most of her words fell upon deaf ears. Tsuto left Sandpoint, Ameiko left the family, and Ayame was left with her father Lonjiku only. The years that passed seemed to crawl by. Ayame was kept in the Kaijitsu manor, rarely allowed to leave. Upon few occations was she allowed to visit her sister Ameiko at her tavern and only then it was when Lonjiku was out of town or busy at the glass works. Then came the night when everything changed, when only Ameiko and Ayame carried the Kaijitsu name. The night when evening had fallen, and the son was put to rest.
