For Mogmurch:

Small Size Unarmed Damage:

That seems too high for a non-monk so I looked it up quick for ya. From Paizo's open SRD doc it says:

Unarmed Strike Damage: An unarmed strike from a Medium character deals 1d3 points of bludgeoning damage (plus your Strength modifier, as normal). A Small character's unarmed strike deals 1d2 points of bludgeoning damage, while a Large character's unarmed strike deals 1d4 points of bludgeoning damage.

All damage from unarmed strikes is nonlethal damage. Unarmed strikes count as shed[typo?] light (for purposes of two-weapon attack penalties and so on).

Dealing Lethal Damage: You can specify that your unarmed strike will deal lethal damage before you make your attack roll, but you take a –4 penalty on your attack roll. If you have the Improved Unarmed Strike feat, you can deal lethal damage with an unarmed strike without taking a penalty on the attack roll.

So the max damage I think you can do, subject to DM approval, is normally 1d2 + str, unless you have monk levels, or feats etc.

Whew...1d2 - 1 ⇒ (1) - 1 = 0
On my turn of course...Minimum Damage 1?

Battle Map

Confusion, confusion: In my post for the confusion categories I did reduce the damage to 1d6 for being a small creature. Taking into account your comments regarding a creature with no items in their hands, here's the rule I am planning to go with. I believe the general intent of the spell effect is that you start bashing something against your head to try to knock some sense into yourself (or conversely, you start bashing your head against something like a tree or a wall). If you have a weapon in hand, then you suffer 1d8 damage (or 1d6 if you are small sized). If you do not have a weapon, then you grab the closest thing that you can use as an improvised weapon (rock, branch, torch, tree, etc) and start banging yourself in the head with it. Being an improvised weapon, I believe the damage dice should be reduced one step (medium size would take 1d6 damage and small would take 1d4).

Mogmurch confusion damage: 1d4 - 1 ⇒ (2) - 1 = 1

Note: This occurs on Mogmurch's turn on Round 2, when Group 3 is up.

Battle Map

Round 1 Summary

Having been hit by one of the three tiny javelins the brownies rained down from a tree, Thakmaka hastily grabs for one of his throwing axes. The leather strap on the hilt of the axe snags on Thakmaka’s hand as he throws it and the axe flies harmlessly into the marsh vegetation.

Laughter descends from above as three more javelins descend towards Thakmaka, all three finding their mark. More cheers of “heeeeyaaahh” echo from above. At the command of their apparent leader, the other brownies cast enchantments meant to confuse the other goblins. Only Hrungee seems entranced by their magic and immediately charges up to Thakmaka swinging his mace at the back of head, only to find air.

Mogmurch quickly reaches into his satchel and pulls forth a concoction which he throws up at the tree. A large boom echoes forth as a small fireball erupts singing most of the brownies and a vast amount of the leaves and branches around them. Any cover they did have is clearly gone now.

Joboo readies his bow and shoots an arrow at one of the brownies, but it flies high into the unsinged foliage of the tree.

Having caught the attention of the leader, the brownie tries to also confuse Mogmurch with an enchantment.

Round 2 Actions:

My action is simple this round, I want to boost my ac, and get ready to counter attack. so I use both my move and standard actions to draw my shield (not included in my base AC, so count it +2 better.) and to draw my 2nd throwing axe. I can't do anything but taunt them this round though.

Battle Map

Shouts of "Heeeyaaaah!" descend from above.

Brownie (Murgi) javelin attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8 Damage: 1d3 - 2 ⇒ (1) - 2 = -1

One of the rear row brownies remark, "Oooh Kithi and Murgi are tied."

The squirrel head helmed leader calls out, "One more round troop."

Arrows are launched from the brownies in the rear row.

Those that are hit must make a Fort Save DC 13. Failure means that you fall unconscious for 10 rounds.

Brownie (4) fumble reflex save: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9

You see one brownie try to shoot at Joboo, but its arrow shears off the bow near taking the brownie's thumb off with it. This causes the brownie to loose grip on his bow, but he manages to recover his grip prior to dropping the bow.

Round 2 Summary

Thakamaka remains directly under the brownies and raises his shield to help deflect the spray of javelins. Again a volley is released and Thakmaka feels a small prick of a javelin head piecing into his arm.

The rear rank of brownies each take aim at the goblins wih their bows. Joboo and Hrungee are missed, however Mogmurch is not. Mogmurch seems very confused and out of sorts. He picks up a large branch from the ground and smacks himself in the nose with it. While doing this, an arrow from a brownie his him in his shoulder. His senses almost start to return, as he stares at the arrow for a brief second until a slumber takes him over. Mogmurch collapses to the ground followed by the sound of snoring.

Hrungee throws forth a magical spray of acid at the brownie leader, however the sprays falls short.

Joboo released an arrow at a brownie, however the arrow hit the thick branch below the brownies and stuck solidly, yet harmlessly.

Round 3 Summary

Thakmaka throws his remaining axe and sinks it into the trunk of the tree with a solid thud, next to where the brownie leader was standing.

Three more javelins descend at Thakmaka, one of which hits him in the ear, giving him a new piercing.

The brownie leader glares at Thakmaka and then feels a sudden tugging on his mind. His attention is quickly diverted to Hrungee and he shoots him a scowl.

Joboo pulls back on his bow and releases an arrow which nicks a brownie drawing some blood with it.

Hrungee tries to waken the sleeping Mogurch, but clearly fun-filled dreams of horses are keeping him asleep.

All the remaining brownies appear to be waiting and keep a close eye on their leader.

Battle Map

Thakmaka pulls out one of the many javelins now sticking out of his armor. He throws it back at a brownie, however it tumbles harmlessly through the air falling far short of where the brownies are.

The squirrel-head-helmed leader looks to his troops and says, ”You have proven yourselves in my eyes, welcome to the Wardens of Willowlark. Recall!”

The three brownies that were throwing javelins each shout out a hearty, “Heeeyaaahh!”, and they disappear with a poof sound echoing behind them. The three archers then also repeat this.

The leader looks down at all of the goblins and shouts out, “Thanks for the fun stupid goblins!” He too disappears as a ripple of translucent magic emanates out from the spot he had stood, also followed by a poof sound.

Hrungee Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11

As the group advances down the trail occasionally small strands of thick spider silk are seen. The group constantly scans around whilst Joboo continuously patrols the perimeter of the group.

Joboo and Mogmurch notice a spider preparing to leap from a hidden vantage point 10-feet up in a tree onto Thakmaka – who appears to be the target of choice for the day.

Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11

Thakmaka sees the spider's fang up close as they whoosh by his face, but fail to touch him. The spider is now on the ground staring right at Thakmaka.

Will Save: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20

Hrungee immediately releases a mystical hex at Lotzlegs which is seems to shrug off.

Amazingly, despite the barrage of attacks the spider has endured, including a signifcant scorching, she's still alive and twitching, but spider blood and innards are leaking out everywhere.

For a PBP combat, so far they've been pretty streamlined, so this is a good thing :)

Battle Map

After a few more hours of travel you come to the point indicated on Scribbleface’s map. It isn’t quite on the coast, but it’s close enough to hear the faint susurrus of waves crashing on an unseen swampy shoreline. The site itself is obvious once it is approached—a large wrecked ship lodged in a shallow pool of swamp water.

A two-masted ship lies mired in the mud in this clearing, its rigging thick with moss and decorated with lanterns and windchimes made from goblin skulls and bones. Strange writing is faintly visible along the ship’s prow, while the soggy, swampy “yard” that surrounds the wreck is encircled by a rickety wooden fence. A thin curl of smoke wafts up from a chimney that protrudes from an unusual box-like structure near the ship's bow.

Ship Picture

I have put a map up as well, although we are 'currently' not in combat. The mud around the yard is quite thick and will half all movement.

We jumped a little ahead there. Was Mog able to get some spider venom. If so how much and what's the dope on it?

Battle Map

Okay, I don't have a concern about jumping back in time. Everyone had posted after the combat and no one mentioned searching for a lair, so I thought it was time to move on. I did forget about Mogmurch's request, but I attribute that to rule #43.

I need Survival (tracking) rolls from anyone trying to track down Lotzalegs' lair.

Mogmurch: I'm not certain if their are 'actual' rules for poison extraction from a corpse (if there are please point me in the direction), but certainly in this case a Knowledge (nature) roll would seem appropriate. With that roll you can get 1d6 doses of Giant Spider poison from it. Feel free to roll to see how many you get.
