Morgrym moves to support the team against the wasp and swats it with his axe, ending it.

Shalelu growls in frustration as she collects what arrows she can salvage. "No doubt he is off somewhere planning how out next encounter will play out," she says angrily.
Spivey says, "No, this is good! You all defeated several of his minions and you drove him off! If we can catch him before he can get help, or if we can find him alone after we get some rest, we can finish him!"

"And we will finish him." Lyraesel growls. Catching a hold of herself, she take as a few deep breaths, closing her eyes as she visibly calms herself, the more feral cast to her features softening, her fangs reverting to normal.

"Everyone okay? Anyone need healing?" Kenji does a quick check of the party. "Lyraesel, Shalelu, any idea where he went?"

Shalelu shakes her head ruefully. "No tracks. He is either flying or he teleported away somehow."

"No way to tell," says Shalelu, "Since we don't know what he was. Seemed to heal very, very fast from conventional strikes, except your acid-etched axe, Morgrym. Good chance that by the time we find him, he will have recovered from almost everything. We should be ready to hit him with everything we've got at once, next time we fight him."
Spivey says, "Well, if we can sneak back out of the castle before he alerts any more of his allies, we can rest at the old shrine of Desna. The corbies don't come there any more, and after you wiped out this latest batch they probably won't want to leave the castle at all!"

"We need to press on a little further. Morgrym, you just need a breather?" Kenji asks. "We see that guy again, I'll get on him with my flames and see if that helps lock down his healing."

So where to? He could be anywhere in the castle -- anyone who made the spellcraft check knows that dimension door is medium range, so he's probably still inside the walls. He might be in a room you've already searched, or somewhere you haven't visited yet.

Kenji will move to the east end of the great hall where the man was originally directing the corbies. He'll look for doors in this side of the room.

"It's random where he is and meanwhile we could be facing other corbies, chipping away at us while he heals. We stay here too much longer, we fight on his terms. He attacks when we are weakest." Lyraesel adds.

I agree with Lyrasel. We should not try to fight him on his terms. We have to try and figure out how to fight him on ours.
Morgrym cleans off his axe and looks at the others.
Besides, there is no sense in us killing ourselves trying to find him while he prepares for us.

Heading toward the front, you find a small passage with doors on either side. The left side is a latrine, but to the right Lyraesel recognizes the strong scent of those towering humanoids that you previously fought in the courtyard - the ones you caught wrestling.

With preparation done, you smash open the door.
Four stone pillars support the roof of this large hall. What appear to have once been wooden cages lie in shambles throughout the room. A heap of rags and furs in the middle of the room seems to be some sort of makeshift bed, while a large heap of partially eaten birds, squirrels, and wild turnips mounded nearby reeks with the stink of compost.
A tall, lanky humanoid occupies the room, sitting on the furs and gnawing on some kind of rib. As you smash open the door she grunts, then shrieks, and continues shrieking as she prepares to stand and face you. She has a pungent, meaty odor, milky white eyes, knotted misshapen muscle, and her legs are digitigrade, like a dog's. She wears a spiked gauntlet over one overlarge hand.

Viv moves cautiously into a position where she can strike, though this takes up several seconds.

The creature catches a blast of fire in the face as she stands, then takes a gash across one of her oddly-shaped legs. She lets out a low growl and swings her flail over her head, then screams, "Tasty ears!" as she brings it around at Lyraesel. Then she swings a backhand with her spiked gauntlet to add insult to injury!
Flail: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20
Flail damage: 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
Spiked gauntlet: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
The flail forces Lyraesel to jump out of the way, nearly smashing her head in, but at least she avoids the gauntlet.
