:( I am really struggling with Feats right now. One of the best Feats is not one feat, it's three. :( Just looking for ways to make B'yelka better, more helpful, or more independently competent :)
Weapon Focus (Whip) puts you partially down the path to Dazzling Display and Whip Master.
Generally, I enjoy taking combat expertise and then picking a combat maneuver to focus on (like disarm) if I'm keen on using a whip a bunch, but I think B'yelka's a point short on INT to qualify for it.
Jelani's suggestion for Weapon Focus is also a good one, especially if you keep pumping your Intimidate. Dazzling Display is a nice, resource-free AoE debuff.
...maybe... or a Mysterious Gunslinger ;) (no, that is a joke ;P )

Dantrian, would you mind posting an up to date inventory log? I'm just wondering how close I am to affording a magic bow.
Are we keeping the will money individually? Tibideau would prefer not to put his platinum in the group pot. He has to start saving for his headband of vast intelligence.

Seems like Anton and B'yelka are both at the bottom of the fancy-toys list currently.
The stone of alarm is currently being carried by Dantrian, but we can sell that if you need some more capital for a nicer bow, Anton.
If we can find a caster in town, you could have masterwork transformation cast on your bow for 360 gp.
You could then, ostensibly, pay to have it further enchanted into a +1 weapon by paying 2,000 gp. Provided we're able to find you someone who can do such things, of course.
B'yelka is worth more than trinkets ;) Although a Circlet of Persuasion would work well, I think...

So for Anton to get his bow enchanted to +1 you'd need to sell the shapechanger bane dagger and give him a good chunk (~1,360) of the gold to him. There's definitely someone in the city who can do it, but it'll take a couple of days to get the work done. But he's gotten by far the least amount of loot so far. 1,000 GP less than even B'Yelka who is second lowest.
If Drosil sold his rapier and we sold the stone of alarm, he could keep the shapechanger bane dagger (and get some good mileage out of weapon focus if he then cared to take it) and I think we could still manage the magicification of Anton's bow.
Janos is willing to pitch in some of his cash to help Anton enchant it. The bigger issue I would see is what do we do while it's being worked on? I guess he can borrow Janos' bow, but it's a poor substitute.
Drosil would be willing to part with the rapier, if it meant that Anton would benefit from its sale. Plus, weapon focus (dagger) wouldn't be terrible (though I'd kick myself a little for not taking the knife master archetype).
For what it's worth, B'yelka really only wants a MW scorpion whip, a mithral breastplate and a circlet.

A mithral breastplate for B'yelka should be rather attainable at this point. They weigh in at 1,200 gp while a masterwork scorpion whip would be a paltry 305 gp. (Or, she could also pay to have her current whip masterworked by a spellcaster with masterwork transformation, but that'd cost 360 gp.)
Thanks guys, I've been away for the weekend so haven't really contributed to any of this.
I don't mind that I've had the least amount of loot at all but I'm putting all my eggs in the archery basket and would love to get a magic bow asap to make sure I don't have issues with damage reduction (unlikely at this level) or incorporeal creatures.
But I wouldn't want to do that at the expense of everyone else's items but if you're happy to help me out I'd be grateful :)
I suppose Tibideau could be convinced to assist B'yelka in affording her breastplate!

I'm not sure how to play this. Antons intelligence is only 10 so he isn't best placed to make those kinds of connections and, although I did forget that the Beast was 9 feet tall, I did think it strange that the wound caused bleeding. Also, I'm assuming the caimen would have left some kind of mark as Dantrian stated. Given that Anton knows nothing about golems, I didn't feel comfortable making those assumptions.
Like I said I'm not sure how to roleplay these connections when my character couldn't know them. I think I'll leave it to the groups smarty pants :)
Dantrian's not near enough to hear all this, but I'm sure when either he or Tibideau is brought up to speed either one could point out the lack of blood in golems.

@ Anton, you are correct in that we haven't had a chance to upgrade your bow yet.
Do you feel it's worth dropping it off when we return to Leipstadt after this to have it worked on over the intervening days or would you rather hold on to it until we don't have to scramble around like crazy with this investigation?

I echo Anton's worry. This fight with the manticore really surprised me. I wasn't expecting fights, I was expecting a heavier emphasis on non-combat investigative thingies. I'm not saying the fight is a bad thing by any stretch, but if this is par for the course, a bow-less Anton over the next 2 days would be a sad panda.
Anton, if you sold your MW longsword, you could buy a Comp Longbow (+1 Str). That might be reasonable enough to fill in while your new bow gets made.

I'm pretty stoked about this road trip, to be honest. Been over a year since I've seen this friend and he was supposed to join us on the Cabin Trip I'd mentioned back in Oct/Nov, but he wasn't able to make it.
In addition to having him get me caught up on Matt Smith's final season as The Doctor, I expect some WoW TCG will be played, perhaps some Settling of Catan, maybe some Kingsburg will get played, plus whatever else we do around town. Should be great!
