Experience Points Time

4,4000 total awarded the group to date

880 each for the five of you.

If you guys want to go on the fast progression chart, then your more that half way to 2nd. A bit faster than the one level per three modules in PFS.

Human female Universalist wizard 1 | 14 AC | HP 16/16 | F+4, R+4, W+6 | Initiative +0| Perception +4 | 25’ speed |

Whatever speed you prefer for us is okay wtih me, DM.

Female Elf Ranger/1 HP 11/11

Great Job DM with the story telling and moving the adventure forward.
I would like to make it to the next level sooner than later, fast progression is good with me, but will defer to your decision.

Fernis how are you carrying Aryllan, slung over the shoulder or cradled like?
Just asking.

Female Elf Ranger/1 HP 11/11

Hey DM - did the demented one's magic work on Aryllan. Just checking to see where Aryllan's hit points are?

Male Human Rogue 1| AC 16 T 14 FF 12 | HP +3/8| F +0 R +6 W +1; | Init +4 | Perc +7/8 Traps | DD +11/13

Updated my character, only replaced ordinary thieves tools with a masterwork set. Cannot add more weight. Everything else acquired up to this time has to be carried by someone else. Sell anything else (including his original TT set) no one wants and split the money. Will the pathfinder society keep funds for wandering members. No carrying capacity to spare even for coin. I'll update this further when this is clarified.

Edit: He takes enough bolts to make up what was used, I think it was threee.

All knowing teller of tales

Encumbrance.

Love it * Hate it * In between.

Volta brought up a good point about taking on too much gear.
We all should be on the same page with this. Whatever the group wants is fine with me.

Do we want to track total encumbrance?
Everything but coin weight?

Generally speaking, I'm a fan of the following;

Ignore coin weight. I just assume everyone is trading up to larger coin values when in town. Once you get over 1-2k, you'll be purchasing bags of holding, making investments or whatever.

Weapons and armor. Common sense rules here. When you start carrying around 3 extra sets of plate armor and 5 great swords I might question things then. (before then actually)

The normal armor penalties for movement, dexterity etc are enforced, of course.

What I do like to be a stickler about is equipment list. If it's not listed, it's not available for use. I like the mental challenges it provides.

Let me know and we'll go with the majority vote so everyone is equal.

I vote= No weight tracking. Use good judgement, work any oddities into the story.

For those using HeroLabs, there even an option button for "No coin weight"

Male Human Fighter 1 (Polearm Master)/ HP - 11/11

I can carry everything, but I only really want to keep the potion of Shield of Faith, and a cure light potion.

Male Human Fighter 1 (Polearm Master)/ HP - 11/11

I am good with what ever you would like, DM, for encumbrance tracking. As for the question concerning level, it is whatever you are most comfortable with.

Male Human Rogue 1| AC 16 T 14 FF 12 | HP +3/8| F +0 R +6 W +1; | Init +4 | Perc +7/8 Traps | DD +11/13

I good with what you like DM, I'm using PCgen as my character generator and it tracks everything. I need to stay at light encumbrance so as not to take penalties, that the program would figure automatically but I can list the money separately and just assume it's in the pouch. If we do it this way then I believe you think a masterwork backpack is unnecessary? Even for role-play purposes Volta should be lightly loaded, hard to see him jumping around, as he does, carrying a ton of stuff. I don't see anything else we got that seems that useful to Volta, so I'm good for selling everything except for what anyone else needs. And I'm not a stickler for dividing the loot evenly down to the last copper, if it's kept somewhere in the vicinity of fair, I'm good.

Human female Universalist wizard 1 | 14 AC | HP 16/16 | F+4, R+4, W+6 | Initiative +0| Perception +4 | 25’ speed |

I'll do the math and sell the gear tonight. Put all your claims in.

I'm fine with your encumbrance ruling, dm. That's the easiest way to keep things moving.

Great Uraisa, if you want to make up a list of what is sold and the values, that would be an item off my plate. 50% list price as I'm sure you know. If you find an item you want more for, you would need to haggle it out RP style.

To keep everything story focuses, selling should be done when the PC's are in an appropriate area. The next time you guys have a few spare minutes in town, you can just declare that you sold xxx items for xxx coin. There will be an obvious spot for that shortly in-game.

Thanks for handling that!

Human female Universalist wizard 1 | 14 AC | HP 16/16 | F+4, R+4, W+6 | Initiative +0| Perception +4 | 25’ speed |

Ok, i sold everything that was not claimed. We have a total of 478 go to be divvied up as we see fit. I think we should split this five ways. We also have 4 potions of cure light that I did not sell. I say everyone except the healer take one for an emergency.

Finally, DM, I did not sell the fine comb and the bottle of whiskey. Could you price those items for me? I'll rejigger my numbers once those are included.

Female Elf Ranger/1 HP 11/11

I agree with DM for tracking encumbrance. It makes sense to me.

Uraisa, I say we split it five ways as well. And I would love one of the cure light wounds potion. :)
Also remind me to stay back and use my arrows more often!

Male Human Rogue 1| AC 16 T 14 FF 12 | HP +3/8| F +0 R +6 W +1; | Init +4 | Perc +7/8 Traps | DD +11/13

I'd like the cure potion too, if I don't count money, I can take it.

We are a bit short on front-line fighters, Volta is marginal at best, crossbows, or just getting out of the way are his best options.

I don't see the request for a washerwoman to be odd at all, in the absence of modern fabrics, detergents, and washing machine, laundering even one outfit would take much time and a great deal of physical effort, Volta didn't have it in him anymore (only a average con and a very exhausting day).

Continuing in that vein, how are we to obtain High-fashion clothes on a few hours notice? Even today that would be an enormous challenge for people without top-level access to tailors, in a society without sewing machines this could take months. I'll try to find an old clothing store in the market place, they'll be outdated but maybe available. Custom courtier outfits would take at least a month of tailoring, if they would talk to us at all. Remember no such thing as "off-the-rack" exists.

Good points all, Volta. In a world of elves, dragons and magic finding fine clothing is not the ultra laborious task it was in feudal europe.

With that, your Pc's are in the most advanced city of the land. I think the intent is to not show up like you have walked in from a six month stint in the swamp. Looking the best that novice level Pathfinders is whats expected. It goes without saying that those above your station will look better.

Of course, feel free to go to extremes of fashion if you wish. The more fun you have with your character, the more fun I have with the reacting environment.

To be clear, it's more flavor and exposition than an in-game problem to be solved. Only spend as much time on it as you do/don't want to. Have fun!

Male Human Fighter 1 (Polearm Master)/ HP - 11/11

How common is it to bring gifts for the host of such an event?

I also sent a message to you, Iron, about a weapon modification for the event.

Male Human Rogue 1| AC 16 T 14 FF 12 | HP +3/8| F +0 R +6 W +1; | Init +4 | Perc +7/8 Traps | DD +11/13

I'm going to assume great good luck on Volta's part in assembling this outfit so quickly.
Masterwork Leather Armor with Courtier Modification - Outfit of Quality and Distinction. Cost 190.
Jade Ring with Gold Setting: 100
General Bathing, Oiling, quality undergarments in Taladorian Colors, Black Boots, small Orchid, etc. 100
Carriage fees 5

Total 395 A bit more than received from loot/rewards. If not already done, will soon adjust my profile to reflect changes.

DM, if you have any trouble with this; I'll adjust as you wish of course, just let me know.

Dang. You go from street kid to Orlando Bloom on his best day
You'll be turning some heads, that's for sure.

You do need to have the money to spend.
I think with your expert appraise skills you could negotiate 1/3 off the price of each items by pointing out minute flaws in manufacturing or style by making a DC12 appraise check. (for each item)

You could also use some of your, um, special talents to get a five finger discount, but that would need to be played out in the game form. Your call Mr. Delbove.

EDIT: I read this before your game post, so perhaps your not interested in negotiation with old man Harton, but you can get a deal on the rest if you like.

Male Human Rogue 1| AC 16 T 14 FF 12 | HP +3/8| F +0 R +6 W +1; | Init +4 | Perc +7/8 Traps | DD +11/13

You're right for some reason I thought we got 385 not 351, a shortfall of 44 gold.

He couldn't tell an old family friend his stuff wasn't good enough.
(I wrote the above before I saw your edit.)

The general items base 100 gold Appraise 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11 Pointing out how the recent festival reduced demand for this day, he argues a discount on various services.

The Jade Ring base 100
Appraise 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
Pointing out that it hasn't sold for a while even with good demand, he argues for a reduction.

Carriage fees 5
Appraise 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24

"Well you haven't been hired yet, so a discount will give you quick and sure funds for this day.

For any remaining shortfall he will offer Old Harton, the Jade ring (first) and/or the armor(second) as surety after this evening for any debts contracted to be paid in a short while. In effect pawning them after one use. Not an uncommon deal in the days before eternal credit card debt.

The crap rolls continue. If you accept the surety I'll continue otherwise cancel the post and I'll rewrite. Sorry for the error on finances.

Your post is awesome. They'll take what you've got and leave it at that.

Male Human Rogue 1| AC 16 T 14 FF 12 | HP +3/8| F +0 R +6 W +1; | Init +4 | Perc +7/8 Traps | DD +11/13

Thank you for the kindess. Unfortuately the post contains at least one error of commission and one of omission. The name is Delbove not Delbrove which should have been obvious to me, it posts with the right name! The omit is of course he has his rapier stapped to waist like any good gentlemen. I've removed all gold and platinum coin from the profile leaving him with a few silvers and coppers, if that's okay.

Robertus:
Re. your inquiry. For 100gp a skilled weapon-smith can convert a 3 section telescoping pole to match the length and balance of a Guisarme and fit you existing weapon head, or a similar one on to it. Exact same specks as a solid wooden one except;
a tad heaver(no real game effect), and you would need a move action to deploy and lock the pole.

Male Human Fighter 1 (Polearm Master)/ HP - 11/11

Alright, that should catch myself up to the rest of you. Iron, I also sold the Ranseur at half-price, since I didn't see Robertus using it. Hope that is alright.

Of course.

Please make sure (as always) your profile reflects the changes.
Fun stuff!

LOL Robertus - "Oh My"

Everyone has a soft spot for Takei. XP

Hey guys, I am going to be traveling for the next couple of days, so post may get a little erratic. I am moving to Georgia and should be able to post at the hotels along the way. Just want to give heads up so if I miss a day you didn't think I dipped out.

All knowing teller of tales

I very much appreciate the heads up.
Have a safe trip and moving adventure.

Male Dwarf [St:4 To:4 Ag:3 Int:3 Wil:3 Fel:2 Wound:15] Bounty Hunter [Fatigue:0 Stress:0] [Def:1 Soak 9] [Active Def: Imp. Block]:{Party Sheet:Glory Hounds [][][][][][][][]}

Just got into our new house on Friday and the Internet company did not show up when they were supposed to. I will be without service for at least another day or so. Just needed to let you guys know.

All knowing teller of tales

Hey guys, just checking in.

Posting has slowed to a crawl. I'm guessing people are waiting for others, extra busy with RL or have no actions that apply to the situation. If it's the later, what do you all think of just a quick snippet of your PC's thoughts, or even an OOC saying that you are stuck for ideas. That would help me move things along and shore up my weak spots with the narrative.

Human female Universalist wizard 1 | 14 AC | HP 16/16 | F+4, R+4, W+6 | Initiative +0| Perception +4 | 25’ speed |

I'm still here, DM. I'm just a little torn on how to proceed right now. I don't trust the undead, but I tepidly think we are going to have to follow it for the time being.

Male Human Rogue 1| AC 16 T 14 FF 12 | HP +3/8| F +0 R +6 W +1; | Init +4 | Perc +7/8 Traps | DD +11/13

Yeah haven't any idea what to do, was waiting on the cleric's opinion before trying anything, though what it would be I do not know.
Addendum: what Uraisa said. And it goes without saying we're still paying attention.

Human female Universalist wizard 1 | 14 AC | HP 16/16 | F+4, R+4, W+6 | Initiative +0| Perception +4 | 25’ speed |

Fernis hasn't posted in a week and a half. Has anyone heard from him?

All knowing teller of tales

I had a hunch the undead grasping at her former life might be causing a problem.

It's meant to be kinda a no-win situation. More of a moral challenge for each PC to explore his/her alignment, class and values and also work as part of a group and further balance that with the needs of the mission.

I'll pop over to the game thread and see what I can do to move it along.

Female Elf Ranger/1 HP 11/11

I am also stuck, but just don't want to kill something if unnecessary.

I think he was still having issues with internet access.

Got service installed today folks. I will catch up on posting tonight. In-processng the new unit and such so time is limited this afternoon. I catch you guys in a few. Fernis is not for letting the undead lead him anywhere and will be promptly making that clear.

Half Ghoul Fernis. Glad to have you back online!

Hmmm...that complicates things a little, but an angry dwarf is not a friendly dwarf. Lol.

All knowing teller of tales

Sorry guys, this last week was brutal. I kept thinking I would be able to post, then something always got in the way.

I should be back to a normal posting schedule this week.

NP.

Female Elf Ranger/1 HP 11/11

What is normal? :)

Male Human Rogue 1| AC 16 T 14 FF 12 | HP +3/8| F +0 R +6 W +1; | Init +4 | Perc +7/8 Traps | DD +11/13

Getting a little concerned here, I understand RL issues but momentum is being lost and a little post saying things will resume very soon would be reassuring. If there is anything we can do to help please let us know.

Female Elf Ranger/1 HP 11/11

Hello?

Human female Universalist wizard 1 | 14 AC | HP 16/16 | F+4, R+4, W+6 | Initiative +0| Perception +4 | 25’ speed |

I'm thinking it might be time to just throw in the towel onthis one, unfortunately...

Male Human Rogue 1| AC 16 T 14 FF 12 | HP +3/8| F +0 R +6 W +1; | Init +4 | Perc +7/8 Traps | DD +11/13

I really liked this story though, it was going well with a strong group of characters but it's now two weeks since Iron Dice's last post. Hope nothing really bad happened to him. Iron Dice, if you get a chance to post soon I'm still checking daily and will for a while but hope is fading fast for the continuation of this campaign.

Life happened most likely, lol. Sucks when you fail your save on that one. ;)

Male Human Fighter 1 (Polearm Master)/ HP - 11/11

Aye, that Life Boss hits like a truck.
