Will only attack if they attack, otherwise Red lets them withdraw from the field, like the gentleman he is.

Tirion Jörðhár |

Not that it makes any difference, but I am using the Spectral Hand, which was extended using the Rod of Reach, to cast the Shocking Grasp. I was not actually using the Rod of Reach on that last Shocking Grasp.
Seeing the hated hobgoblin fall to the ground with smoke pouring from its ears, Tirion once more calls upon the draconic blood flowing through his veins and once more casts Shocking Grasp at the fleeing hobgoblin hoping to keep it from reporting on the nature of the defenses in the city.

Bofus flies off to AI -2, stowing his rapier and drawing his bow on the way, to hide in the corner and wait for the wet giant to close in enough so he can shoot him in the eyeball. HE gives the Lions in the AK-AM area a big grin and fistpump on the way...

• Kouzin Zaka casts Cure Moderate Wounds on the Brindol Lion healing many of the wounds of the fallen Brindol Lion.
Round 12
• Thordak fires two shots from his crossbow. The first shot hits and the hill giant falls back into the water with a great splash.
One blinded hobgoblin bladebearer fumbles around trying to find a way to flee.

Brindol Lion |

Kouzin will start chanting and swaying, then slap his hand down upon the fallen lions face casting cure moderate wounds.
The wounded Brindol Lion opens his eyes and tries to get back on his feet just after Kouzin Zaka heals his wounds."Thank you, good sir! I am in your debt. May I have the honor of your good name, my friend?"

Captain Lars Ulverth |

Lars Ulverth approaches Bofus and declares, "That was a close one! I'm not sure how you took down all of those giants, but the City of Brindol is once again in your debt. Mind you, we are not through with this rabble yet! I've gotten word that the army of the Red Hand has reached the western edge of Brindol. The siege has now begun."

Rebel Red |

"They will be at it for hours, perhaps a nap is in order. Any proper siege begins with lengthy discourse, dialogue, and no doubt champions from wither side boring us all with puffed up self aggrandising displays. I'd prefer a nice Pinot, is there a fromagerie in town?"

Captain Lars Ulverth |

"They will be at it for hours, perhaps a nap is in order. Any proper siege begins with lengthy discourse, dialogue, and no doubt champions from wither side boring us all with puffed up self aggrandising displays. I'd prefer a nice Pinot, is there a fromagerie in town?"
"A Pinot and a nap? I swear, Mr. Red, you must have nerves of steel. You exhibit no fear and you are more interested in the fromagerie than the armory. Do you know there is a real red dragon out there?! And we are not talking about some little lizard with red skin. I mean the whole fire breathing draconic sort! You still value your own life don't you?!"

![]() |

Well done, everyone! I'd have preferred all staying together and fighting together, but that still worked. Hey, any of you clerical types have any healing magic available? one of those giants got lucky and tagged me...
Then maybe we should go talk to those nice folks who shot the bejezus out of the bad guys, shall we?
Bofus looks expectantly for some healing magic, then boldly flies out to the incoming ship where the Giant Thordak went.

![]() |

ssssnnniffffff....that's good stuff!!
Still injured, but not nearly as badly, the Halfling gathers his weapons and stows them appropriately. He uses the remaining duration of the Fly spell to hover about 3 feet off the ground, allowing him the rare opportunity to look folks eye to eye. He extends a hand to the shaman who just healed him.
Well met, my scraggly friend! I'm Bofus, very pleased to meecha! And who are your salty friends on the ships, and what brings you all to our beleaguered little town?

Kouzin Zaka |

"Mah nayum little woun is Kouzin Zaka, I makeadah herbs, and dah potions and dah healing and mahgic tattoos and dah food. I follow dah greaht man Captaine Simaan Drake. He looking for the Dragon Slayas.
He motions up to the ship. Where A cloaked tattooed man holding a mystical sword stands grinning and speaking to a serious looking half orc female and a snapping turtle the size of a toolshed.
"Ima gonna go staht dinna. Ima dah best cook you evah dun seen. Get yah friends and come eat."

Rebel Red |

"I mean the whole fire breathing draconic sort! You still value your own life don't you?!"
"When a Dragon comes then it is time to deal with a Dragon, I draw my courage from the great people of Galt and Andoran, what is a Dragon to face when such brave libertarians threw off the shackles of Cheliax? Let them send what they will, until then, it's brie and brioche"
"Bad time to be sailing into town" Red remarks to the new arrivals.

Captain Lars Ulverth |

"When a Dragon comes then it is time to deal with a Dragon, I draw my courage from the great people of Galt and Andoran, what is a Dragon to face when such brave libertarians threw off the shackles of Cheliax? Let them send what they will, until then, it's brie and brioche"
"Well, All I can say is that I am pleased to have you on our side. I just hope our supply of cheese does not run low for you while we are under siege."
"Bad time to be sailing into town" Red remarks to the new arrivals.
Lars Ulverth chimes in and introduces himself.
"Red speaks the truth. We are being invaded by the Red Hand Horde and you and your ship are in grave danger being here. Unfortunately, following the Elsir west will only lead you into conquered territory. Brindol is the last resistance to stand up to this Hoard. You may want to hold up here and simply hope for the best."
"What's your name, Fella? I'm Captain Lars Ulverth, Commander of the Brindol Lions."

![]() |

Captain, these are men and women of action!! If they remain here, I'd bet three kegs of my pappy's best ale that they will NOT simply "hope for the best!" These folks have already shown they're willing to fight, and bleed, for the best! Bofus looks over at the newcomers. Am I right, maiteys?!

Captain Lars Ulverth |

"Captain, these are men and women of action!! If they remain here, I'd bet three kegs of my pappy's best ale that they will NOT simply "hope for the best!"
"Perhaps you are right. I must admit, I have not seen a weapon that made such an awful din and at the same time delivered such devastating results. I wonder if such a device could be used against that dragon. These folks may prove to be valuable against such a creature. So what do you say, folks? Are yae here to fight the Red Hand or are you trying to find a way to sail away?"

Captain Shar'ka Fire-Eye |

Shar'ka, seeing the giant disappear under the water, calls for Barnacle to return to the ship.
"Nice shooting, Captain," she says to Simon, stowing and readjusting her bow and arrows. "Good thing we were here to help out. Let's help clean up these bodies." She looks over at the dwarf next to her. "Shar'ka," she states curtly, as a way to introduce herself.
Barnacle climbs up onto the ship's deck and makes a sound like a low honk. "And this is Barnacle."
Shar'ka scans the shore and begins to walk towards the group of folks chatting casually amidst the leftover gore of battle.

Shiri Fizzbubble |

Shiri inhales the smoke that Kouzin scatters. "Woo!" she shouts, then looks around the deck. "Yuck, gotta get this mess cleaned up." She begins casting spells to push the bodies overboard, then fills a bucket to prepare to mop.
Shiri will use 2 castings of Water Blast, Hydraulic Push and Gust of Wind to get the bodies overboard, just as FYI.

Thordak son of Throtgar |

She looks over at the dwarf next to her. "Shar'ka," she states curtly, as a way to introduce herself.
Barnacle climbs up onto the ship's deck and makes a sound like a low honk. "And this is Barnacle."
"Oi'm pleased tae meecha, m'lady!" the giant dwarf (at least for the moment) says with a great bow. "Thordak, son of Throtgar at yer service and yer turtle's." Thordak then looks around the ship and remarks, "Noice boat."

Sergeant Teyani Sura |

A bloodied and wounded Sergeant Teyani Sura approaches Captain Ulverth and speaks up.
"Captain, I want to report that the docks have been cleared of enemy. We have secured the area for the moment. At least a half dozen giants were killed, numerous hobgoblins including bladebearers were killed and we had only one casualty."

Captain Lars Ulverth |

"Well met, Sergeant. I am pleased to see you alive. Post a small garrison here at the docks and get yourself and the other wounded back to the Cathedral for healing. I'll take care of our fallen Lion. But we are going to need you at full strength for as long as possible."

Rebel Red |

"What a shame they didn't surrender when offered the chance. Well disciplined for giants and hobgoblins, but now well disciplined and dead"
"I wonder if they shall come again sooner rather than later? Never mind, a ship, perhaps from Alkenstar?" Red wonders aloud, half questioningly to its crew as he cleans off his blade.

Captain Simon Drake |

I'd like to offer my ship to those who wish to celebrate once the business after the battle is done. Drink, food, and talk of adventures and challenges."
He bows gently and disappears behind a large door on the ship.

Captain Shar'ka Fire-Eye |

"Oi'm pleased tae meecha, m'lady!" the giant dwarf (at least for the moment) says with a great bow. "Thordak, son of Throtgar at yer service and yer turtle's." Thordak then looks around the ship and remarks, "Noice boat."
"You and your companions are welcome to join us for a meal. We will help clean up this rotten mess as well." Shar'ka says, motioning towards the shore.

Tirion Jörðhár |

Tirion walks over to the ship.
Pleased to meet you all. That is one heck of a loud contraption you have there. Looking at the gun.
As far as cleaning up goes, we can burn them. I could simply dissolve them with acid, but it would likely take quite a while.

Thordak son of Throtgar |

""You and your companions are welcome to join us for a meal. We will help clean up this rotten mess as well." Shar'ka says, motioning towards the shore."
"Oi don't like te turn down the offer o'good meal." Thordak replies. Glancing at his companions and then back to the Captain, he continues, "Are ye sure you have enough te feed this crew? We have a mighty fine hunger Oi'd say!"
"They've got food fer us all!" Thordak yells to his companions. "They want us te bring our appetites! Are you ready to take them up on their offer?!"

![]() |

Bofus flies straight up about 100' in order to get a good view of the nearby landscape--to see if any further attacks are imminent, or in progress.
(assuming there are no other attacks) Bofus then lights on the ship to take the newcomers up on their offer of a meal.

DM Harpwizard |

You rise up and look around the night sky surrounding the city of Brindol. To the west you see the flames of torch light of a vast army stretching out for miles. Hovering above the army, various winged creature flying about. At the moment, the army does not appear to have breached the walls.

![]() |

Do there appear to be any active strikes going on yet? And, specifically, anything from the direction whence the giants came?

![]() |

Bofus reports back to the ship, and waits for his friends to join him. Looks like we're out of action for now--there aren't any other hot spots that I can see. I'm guessing the Hand won't strike again until morning--but that's a guess, not a promise! So, you salty types have anything to drink in your stores? Saving a town from threats internal, and external, is thirsty work!

DM Harpwizard |

The Heroes climb aboard the boat and descend below deck to a dimly lit officer's quarters where you are welcomed and invited to sit around a long table. Captains Simon Drake and Shar'ka Fire-eye sit at either end of the table as a meal of smoked dried pork and, baked beans and rolls are brought out.

Thordak son of Throtgar |

Thordak sits down and begins dishing himself out a large helping of meat. After he starts eating, he asks"So does this boat o' yers have a name? Which o' the two o' yae are exactly captains o' this vessel?"

Captain Shar'ka Fire-Eye |

Shar'ka gnaws on the meat after dipping it in beans. She eyes the dwarf but answers calmly, "Can a ship not have two captains? We both lead on the Drake's Revenge."
She drops some of the meat onto a dish on the floor by her feet, and Barnacle makes a happy snort and digs in.
