DMHW: This summer, it will be difficult for me to maintain posting. I will be working with Master Teskerwill at a job that requires that we drive around the country. Any suggestions? It should be about a 3-month job from may to august.
Sounds like an exciting opportunity. I will have to think of a plan. Perhaps I can DMPC Thordak for a little while as needed. Will you have any access on the road?
Laptop + most hotels/motels = internet access. At least most of the time, all depends on how much free time you have on the road.
I was kind of hoping to travel light, i.e. without a computer. However, I would have my phone so I could post, but frequency would be limited. I will mull this over...
I should also point out to everyone that I will be traveling throughout Utah from June 27th to July 18th. I will be camping and without computer or cell phone, so we may have to pause for three weeks this summer during that time period anyway.

What did you think of it? My brothers and I missed this tour because they did not renew their passports. Normally we would have gone up to Montreal. This was the one tour they decided to play all of Moving Pictures. Can you believe it?! Well, we made up for it by watching Rush Time Machine 2011: Live in Cleveland at my bro's house with an awesome sounding stereo. We had a blast and a most memorable evening. That video is awesome! If any one you want to see an amazing show, you should see it! You can even get it on netflix.
Sound was not as good for me, I think something burned out on my stereo, so I am having to watch stuff through the TV speaker - just not as good as the stereo. I will have to get it fixed or replaced soon.

Lol - will be anxiously waiting. I downloaded MapTools and have been playing around with it. Not the easiest, but I should be able to do what I want. My plan is to create maps for the Temple of Elemental Evil and then try to run a PF ToEE using the AD&D Modules as a reference and a ton of adjustments. If nothing else, it will be an interesting way to try to be a DM.
Map Tools isn't a bad tool for creating map, but I can never find enough objects to fill out the scenes. It took me forever to find a wagon object tonight, but I think I have one that works. Overall, I think that I have gotten much faster at creating them and posting them to Image Shack.
DMHW, I might recommend using Droplr. If you have a mac it puts an icon up near where your WiFi signal and volume are shown. You just drag the file onto the icon and it automatically copies a very small link that is ready to be pasted whenever. For windows I believe it is down on the task bar.
Hey, can you guys look over the Panther style feat tree. I need someone to interpret how the retalitory strike works. It says I can make a number of retalitory strikes equal to mywisdom modifier. Does that mean against each foe that attacks me gets nailed for that many or is that a round total?
I was reading it a round total.
Here is my reading. Because the Panther Style retaliatory strike was considered a Swift action, you were necessarily limited to 1 per round. Panther Claw changed it to a Free Action, thus, as you can take an unlimited number of free actions in a round, you could do unlimited Panther Style retaliatory strikes. Thus, they limited it to your Wis modifier - which monks usually have at a decent level anyway.
As so, my interpretation is that you could make up to 5 (Wis 20) retaliatory strikes using Panther Style if we were to move through the threatened squares of 5 opponents. Also, your strikes go off before the AoO and if you hit, the opponent is -2 on their attack and damage rolls triggered by the AoO due to the Panther Parry.
All in all, a nice skill set for the pure melee monk. We just need to get you better Bracers of Armor and Rings of Protection to jack up your AC.

Well, yes, you can avoid the AoO, but if you avoid the AoO, my interpretation would be that you would not get the retaliatory strike since it is only caused by the AoO, thus you have two choices. Take the AoO and get the Panther Strike, or make the acrobatics chance, don't risk getting hit, and don't get the Panther Strike.
Sorry I have not had a chance to read up on the feat progression, but what Tirion says makes sense to me.
Today was a crazy day. I got home from work and my wife called to say that she ran out of gas and was stranded at the side of the road about ten miles from home. So I grabbed my gas container for my lawn mower and drove out to find her. First I found her car with flares alight nearby and a state trooper waiting there for the car to be taken away. I had the officer's daughter in middle school about ten years ago, so I schmoozed with him and persuaded him to call off the tow truck that he already called for. I then filled up the car with a little bit of gas from my container and I was able to drive the car off the road. The officer was pleased, so I bid him fare well and then went to find my lovely wife. I found her walking at the side of the road about three miles away. Once we got back to the car, my wife decided to try and drive it with the little bit of gas that I put in it. I told her that I only put in about a half gallon, but it may get her to the gas station. Well, I was wrong. She got stranded on the highway about five miles later. So next I went and refilled my entire gas container (about 5 gallons) and returned to her car on the highway. Long story short, I had to drive south to turn around and drive back north to get to her car. I decided not to take the shortcut and do a U turn across the highway and I'm glad I didn't because another trooper had met up with her on the highway while I was away. Well, we are all safely home now and I just finished giving two harp lessons. I think I am going to head off to bed next. Have a great evening folks!

Do you mean when you put sand in your dad's lawnmower because you didn't want to mow the lawn? You can't expect me to forget that! That is a classic! What a great tale! Mind you, I will not tell that one to my son until he is much older!
Bah - didn't work. The mower worked fine, and I had to clean out the mower when he found out. Useless sand.
Ask DMHW about my lawn. We only had about 5-6 acres that had to be mowed. 300+ apple trees. On the riding mower with an array of 5 rotary mowers behind, it only took about 5 hours.
Na - the sand was on the push mower. Forget why I did it. Was probably about 12 at the time as I recall. We used the push mower for some small areas we could not get with the riding - hills and stuff.

I just had the coolest tabletop session!! It was sadly short, but I played my character better than I'd done previously (I'd been struggling with how to play a CN 1/2orc barbarian, and I think I hit my stride).
not only that, but we had the awesome bonus of seeing my good buddy Russ (a mutual friend with our immortal DMHW) who has been craving gaming of any kind and was able to join us for most of the session. And he brought beer, so I got a little tipsy.

That sounds like an awesome night! I wish I was there! What character did Russ play or did he assist with the DMing? I have not played tabletop in quite some time, and I really miss it! PBP has been a good substitute, but it is certainly not the same. Well, some day, I would love to get everyone together for a marathon Pathfinder weekend. The logistics would be pretty difficult for that, but it is fun to think about. Nothing was ever as convenient as that Sunday night weekly game we play back in Hall House. Half the fun was sitting up late at night talking shop and reminiscing over the the adventure.

my good friend Chris has pretty much free reign of his parents' lakehouse at Wiers Beach (it's a stone's throw from the beach/boardwalk) and we've arleady discussed that it has a huge gaming table, and 6 queen-sized beds--very family friendly!! Russ showed a definite interest, as his whole new fam could come.
We shall study this deeply.

If the whole fam came, we would be walking the beach and listening for birds, and there would be no gaming to be had. We would need to plan a getaway for me on my own. Although this is harder to do, it would allow for a lot more gaming!
Mmmm, real gaming. Other than one or two brief stints with DMHW a few years ago, I have not played in 20 years.
I just finished a great dinner with my inlaws and a good friend. We had a great ham dinner with a scrumptious desert. Wonderful conversation and laughs. Well I just finished the dishes and all the cleanup and I am now ready for bed. I hope you all had a wonderful easter!

Well, my wife is away this week doing a bird trip down in the Florida Keys. So I get to post much more frequently from home than I normally would. Kazam Kazam! Although, I think this week at school could still be pretty busy. I have my vacation next week and I have a lot to get done before that can happen.

Man, I know what you mean by life getting a little nuts! I have been working all day since 7:30 am and I am still at it! I am just finishing up some correcting and writing lesson plans. Negotiation meetings galore and an observation by my principal all morning tomorrow. I cannot believe that she decided to do it on the last day before vacation! Well, I will post when I can, but I will need to slow down just a wee bit for a day or so.
