Female Azlanti Pureblood Alchemist (Trap Breaker) 10

"I have an idea," Brealex says, hold out a hand to Relan. "May I take the shard?

Male Half-elf Druid 3 Monk 2

How about we use the fog AND create an image of some ancient runelord then charge in behind?

Tarric can cast Shield of Faith on 2 melees at +2 deflection AC each for 2 minutes. He can also set rune traps that do 1d6+2 energy damage that last for 2 rounds before they expire. Finally he can cast Ray of Sickening once.

Andel can use inspire courage once you enter combat. He also has a couple of combat related spells.

Male Aasimar Master Summoner / 6

"What if we create the illusion of their leader and tell them they can leave? That she has given up trying to keep this area." Aidon thinks a little more, "Or what if we use the illusion to show that we have her captured in a chair and tell them to throw down their weapons or we'll hurt her?"

"I bet either of those could work"

Female Azlanti Pureblood Alchemist (Trap Breaker) 10

Braelex shrugs, "Mimicking her voice and demeanor would probably be a harder bluff to pull off. I was thinking a wall of flame or fireball to throw them off balance, then charge in behind."

Relan?

Lets assume Relan passes Braelex the shard

Male Aasimar Master Summoner / 6

"Well what if the image had her tied up and gagged? Then there wouldn't be any need for her to speak.?

Female Azlanti Pureblood Alchemist (Trap Breaker) 10

Braelex defers the shard to Aidon. "Take it away, boss." She loads her crossbow and readies a bomb.

"Which leader are we talking about?" Andel asks suddenly.

"The one Natalya asked us to kill or the one we have fought twice and likely fled this way ... unless we think she dove off that cliff?"

Female Azlanti Pureblood Alchemist (Trap Breaker) 10

"They aren't the same person?"

Male Aasimar Master Summoner / 6

"I was speaking of Terisha, the blonde from the wall at the Pathfinder Lodge and the woman we ran into when we first arrived. Is there another leader?"

Andel shuffles through his notes, reading aloud to himself as he skims, "Mm, hmm...let's see. Natalya: 'thanks ... I'm sorry ... secret chamber ... found shard.' Ah ha! Here we go. She said, 'Terisha Skiloni. She's the second in command of the Tower Girls' and then later ' she reports back to Ayala Jeleski.'"

Andel flips forward a couple pages and continues, "She offered us a map ... don't know why we didn't take her up on that ... anyhow, and then she asked us to find and kill Ayala Jeleski, said she was the 'driving problem' behind the Tower Girls current behavior. She's a wererat, etc. etc."

"So, the way I see it is, we don't know what this Ayala gal looks like, unless you think she was that wererat we ran into earlier, although she didn't seem very leader-like. And we do know what Terisha looks like, but I'd put money that she's either in that room ahead of us or passed through it recently, since I didn't see anywhere else for her to go!"

And this is why I ask someone to be a chronicler and keep track of quests etc.

Male Aasimar Master Summoner / 6

Hmm well shit...that was me. Sorry, falling down on the job here

"Hmm well then yes that won't work at all. Perhaps the fireball idea has merit. But once they don't take any damage, won't that all be for naught?"

Male Aasimar Master Summoner / 6

Can Major Image make the room look empty? Honestly just not a spell I have used ever.

Meanwhile

Vuloo:
Your forays into the Sczarni underworld were a closely held secret, and you spent most of your time undercover as a fence and information broker for many of the various Sczarni gangs, but to your great frustration none were getting you closer to your goal, until you got in poorly with the Tower Girls. In a bad bit of luck, they made you as a Pathfinder and hauled you off with them as they fled their domain, losing ground as they were to the Wreckwash Blades. You've been held, bound to a chair for the past couple weeks, but they feed and water you enough. Sore and tired (we'll call you fatigued at the start), they took you into an Irespan piling and it's here you realized where your dreams were leading you. It wasn't the Sczarni underworld that was the focus, they were merely the enabler to get you into this most ancient of Thasillonian ruins. Here, that great darkness MUST be lurking.

A few moments ago, you were being interrogated by a half-rat, half-woman Sczarni thug. While not the leader of this group, she enjoys some influence having succumbed to the leader's bite and exerts power over the others. A blonde woman, second-in-charge (and not a wererat) named Terisha stormed into the room and mentioned trouble with Pathfinders in the complex and took your interrogater and her giant donkey rats with her. It looks like in their haste they failed to lock the door behind them.

The room description :This room smells strongly of rats—a mix of spoiled food, dander, and the pungent sting of rat feces, all under an incongruous scent of lavender. A blanket has been spread on the floor, and a recovered antique brass platter holds a few bits of rat-gnawed food. A metal bath tub sits in the corner. There is an arrow slit in the wall bringing in fresh air from the outside.

You can act on Round 1 with the others. It's a DC10 Strength or Escape Artist check to break out

on the Map you are in the NE room with the rug. I don't have a token for you yet

Female Azlanti Pureblood Alchemist (Trap Breaker) 10

"It doesn't need to be that crazy... just something to spring their ambush. Say an copy of Clarence charging forward, body odor, saliva and all; they fire their shots and we run in a second behind. Sound good?" Braelex appears annoyed at having spoken so much.

Male Human Fighter - level 2

Relan readies his weapon and smiles.

"Lets do this."

Male Half-elf Druid 3 Monk 2

As Brealex said, we just need something to spring their ambush and distract them long enough for us to get into positions in the room.

So everyone's round 0 actions then? Who is going to create the image (how long will you maintain it), be specific. Is Fulmen still casting obscuring mist? Is Braelex leading with a bomb? What do you want Tarric and Andel to do ... I gave you their rough abilities earlier. They'll take direction. Recommend having Tarric cast shield of faith on Relan and Fulmen

Go ahead and roll your own initiative (Vuloo included) with your Round 0 post

Female Azlanti Pureblood Alchemist (Trap Breaker) 10

I think Aidon should probably create the image, since he's got a better knack for arcane magic(?). Braelex will hold her throw until she can get LoS. I recommend we get the inspire from Andel.

Aidon bringing up some help first?

Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11

Male Aasimar Master Summoner / 6

Do I have to concentrate on the image the entire time, do I set a limit of how long it will last? Can I also summon while I am concentrating?

Concentration is a standard action. Once major image up, you concentrate to keep it going. once you stop it ends unless the spell says it lingers

Male Half-elf Druid 3 Monk 2

I won't be using mist unless the sh&t hits the fan.

Let's create an image of us entering the room. We can even have the image try to negotiate terms to see if they are hell bent on attacking us. Then if/when they spring their ambush let's charge in.

Initiative: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 1 = 10

"That's a good idea." Aidon nods, "Let's take that one step further, and have Relan or someone else also move up with the fake group to take advantage of any missteps when they attack the wrong group."

Thoughts?

Female Azlanti Pureblood Alchemist (Trap Breaker) 10

Pretty sure the illusion will work for only one object or creature, not a group of us, thus my original suggestion. I think a charging Clarence would draw their fire, just from pure disgust if nothing else.

Male Aasimar Master Summoner / 6

I am not sure what my LOS is for this spell. But I like the idea of using the spell to create the party and move forward like we want to talk. I am thinking I am going to have to put myself in the illusion somehow so I can keep LOS. Can I use the spell to create a person and kind of place myself in that person to hide?

Or can I kneel down enough on the stairs to keep LOS without actually having to enter the room?

Who is Clarence?

You can't appear to be something else with a figment, but you can have the figment near you. Im ok with multiple objects as part of the illusion as long as they are acting together. I.e. a group of people moving forward as one vice 6 individuals moving all around. Just as long as you don't exceed the area of affect.

Again, read the bit about figments in the illusion magic section of the PRD.

Relan, Aidon?

Clarence is the ranger/trapper who was with the party until Lorlenn got sick and they left (right after Natalya was delivered to Sheila). Played by Chris. Aidon would know who he is.

Male Aasimar Master Summoner / 6

Once everyone is ready, Aidon will concentrate on the image

Aidon focuses on the shard in his hands, as you watch you start to see mists start to form what look to be solid shapes. Each of you react differently as you see very life like images of yourself solidify. Each of you do notice that there are slight differences, you can't tell if it's because Aidon is focused on creating so many images or if this is actually how he sees you.

"If we are ready, we need to move now" Aidon says clearly strained

With that, Aidon will move the image up (or down, can't remember)the stairs and will follow as close as he needs to to make sure he keeps line of sight.

The image will have sound, smell and thermal if anyone is looking and will charge forward to spring the trap.

Aidon will concentrate on this at least until round 1

Male Human Fighter - level 2

Sorry i was ready, did i miss something?

Stairs go down. You climbed to the top earlier and are now working your way back down.

Initiative for you 2, but I will roll it in a few

The Mustering Room, Pre-Surprise Round

Init: Terisha, Aidon, Andel, Vuloo, Tarric, TG North, Karisa, Relan, Braelex, Fulmen, TG South, Rats

Aidon sends the illusion of the party forward and as they progress across the floor, the voice, now visible from the wererat standing in the middle of the large room brandishing a rapier and flanked by two donkey rats, hollers out,

"We warned you! Now!"

A hail of tanglefoot bags and bolts fly from the walls as a host of hidden Tower Girls ambush the illusionary party. Aidon has the party react well to the "hits" and most of the girls begin to reload but, the wererat blinks and says "What?"

The party gains a surprise round and has successfully sprung the ambush.

I will stop concentrating and cast grease on the 3 were rats in the center of the room.

Ref Save - DC 15

Female Azlanti Pureblood Alchemist (Trap Breaker) 10

Braelex moves up with the group, halting at the top of the stairs and hurling a bomb towards the Tower Girls to the north.

Bomb (ranged touch): 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 5 + 1 = 21; Damage: 1d6 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 4 + 1 = 6 fire damage (splash damage 6, Ref DC 14 for half)

DM:
I misunderstood the extract rules, and thought they were like wizard spells. If you don't mind, I'd like to retcon and prepare/use a reduce person before this fight...?

Braelex:
You would have had the time so sure

Round 1
HP: 18/18

Fulmen will hang back while Braelex throws her bombs and throw darts at the nearest tower girl.

Attack w/Dart: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10

Damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

Male Aasimar Master Summoner / 6

Also I cast grease at the were rats, so you might want to not charge right into that

Will assume Relan charges, and that Aidon casts grease just to the edge of the rats. Combat post tonight

The Mustering Room Surprise Round

Aidon throws grease down on the ground around the rats and one of them completely sprawls out, but the other two catch their balance. Andel starts his music, chanting the ways to kill wererats, while Tarric moves to touch Relan giving him guidance. The warrior charges forward busting past his illusionary double and driving his dagger hard into the chest of the stunned wererat.

Behind him Braelex steps out of the stairwell and chucks a flaming bomb into the midst of the three girls up north harming them all, although one ducks behind her friend to hide from a portion of the blast.

Fulmen throws a dart and hits a Tower Girl but it fails to penetrate her armor.

Vuloo:
You escape your bonds easily having worried at them previously for a while. The source of your captors' distraction is starting to become more apparent as from the southwest beyond your door you hear the cries of alarm, the clash of blades, an explosion, and what sounds like ... singing?

Actions for Round 1? Don't forget Andel's bonuses and both Fulmen and Relan have shield of faith (adding +2 deflection bonus to AC)

Map here

Init: Terisha, Aidon, Andel, Vuloo, Tarric, TG North, Karisa, Relan, Braelex, Fulmen, TG South, Rats

Do any of the were rats look more powerful than any others?

The 2 rats appear to be equally powerful.
