The skeleton is crushed to dust. The blow was such that the entire tomb shook when you ax hit the ground!

Seeking to capitalize on the opening Shalee made for him, Mark attacks the nearest skeleton:

AOO: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 7 + 2 = 10
Damage: 3d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 5, 6) + 6 = 18

Unfortunately, he's not used to this size yet, and he misses.

Mark glances back at his companions. They're right, I'm blocking them...here goes nothing!

Mark will attempt to move past the threatened square of the skeleton on the bridge and move between the two on the other side.

JAYKAYROWLING! As the command word is activated the tip of Nalun's wand glows brightly and a streak of light hits Skeleton 4 for MM: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2 points of damage.

Totally worth it for the awesome imagery of flying out of the water with a huge axe!

Round 2

Kierra moves in on the remaining skeleton and draws her sling. Loading a single bullet into the leather cup, she twirls it rhythmically above her head while keeping her attention on her target. When she feels the momentum of the sling build up, she flings the stone at the ghastly warrior.

damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

The stone bullet slings past the target and slams harmlessly into the wall.

Kierra will fire another sling bullet at the grisly skeleton. This time adjusting the tempo of her rotation to hopefully strike home.

"RrrrAGH!" Mark grunts as he swings his axe in a wide arc that whistles over Yorn's head. Now that the other skeletons are dead and it's just this one bonehead left, his demeanor is more businesslike.

SMASH: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21
MORE SMASH: 3d6 + 6 ⇒ (2, 5, 3) + 6 = 16


Well thats enough to kill 3 skeletons so...

Yorn kills the skeleton beside Mark. The blow is so masterful the skeleton remains intact until it goes to step forward. The aincent bones look like they were cut by a razor as they fall to the ground.

The 2 skeletons hiding in the pools climb out

Kierra loads a sling bullet and knocks the head off of a skeleton coming out of the pit.

Mark slams his ax so hard into the other skeleton that it cleaves into the stone and gets stuck!

8 skeletons dead combat over!

"Gods damn it, not again!" Mark sighs as he sets to heaving the axe out of the stone - after making sure everyone stands back.


You turn the heavy wheel and open the gate.

Fyi still one path you have not checked. On the map you found on the plague zombie you see that it is just one room.

As the party makes its way to the portcullis Nalun begins reading a book from his pack. You notice the title is called "First World Problems: What you need to know about the Fey" He is so engrossed in the title that he begins to fall behind and as the light is rapidly fading he moves the wrong way, into a part of the tomb previously unexplored.

Guys? Yorn? Mark? Sh...shalee? K.K.K.ierra???

Nalun begins the sentence in a quavery voice and ends it in a slight wail


Nalun:
The short passageway takes a bend before ending in a small chamber dominated on the far side by a silver fountain quietly burbling perfectly clear water. An inscription above the fountain reads “Kassen’s legacy lives on with his people. Drink and be refreshed.”
The fountain in this chamber is magical and is one of the few things that has not be corrupted in this crypt. Anyone who drinks from the fountain receives the effects of a cure moderate wounds spell, healing 2d8+10 points of damage. In addition, drinking from the fountain removes the fatigued, sickened, and shaken conditions, and heals the character of 1d4 points of ability damage from one ability score. A character cannot gain the benefits of drinking from this fountain more than once per day (additional drinks have no magical effect) You figure out all the game term stuff before the others get too you.

Maggie reaches Nalun first and tackles him Hobbes-style. Mark reaches him a few moments later and immediately bursts out laughing.

Guys, thank goodness you found me. This fountain is awesome. I really advise drinking from it only after we have been in a fight. It's very mystical and mysterious. My kinda place.

Yorn glances at his still weeping wounds and gulps a palm-full of water from the fountain.

With 2d8+10, he's going to get fully healed without even rolling. Yay!


Right? You should clear out all the traps and set up an emergency room! Lol

Guys, this reminds me of this tome I read once about magical pools. Did you know the Archmage Nex once summoned an Ifrit just to heat his bathwater, I mean can you imagine! I've heard the Azlanti had fire elementals for that sort of thing. And the Thassilonians, wow I mean Xin Shalast was built using mystical arts I can't even begin to conceive. I would love to visit Varisia and see the ruins of Thassilon.


So you heading on or you gonna rest to get spells back?
