Correct--level up to 5th, and then you'll set out for the final segment of the adventure.

DM Carbide |

I updated the loot list with the items from the crypt. You still need to identify some of them, though.

DM Carbide |

Ready to go as soon as Cora is finished leveling up--it looks like the rest of you are up to date.

DM Carbide |

No problem. Don't forget to update your header, too.

DM Carbide |

Cora, as I understand what you're doing, an observer on the ground may not be able to pick you out of the shadows, but they will be able to see the shadows stand out against the sky. Is there a reason that the shadows would not be visible?

Cora Soutil |

You're right, I didn't even think about that. She'd be a 40' blob of shadows in the sky. Fair enough, just take the -2 off her Stealth roll and she's at 28 for her Stealth check.

DM Carbide |

Does she have any ability to hide in plain sight? I didn't see that on the character profile.

Cora Soutil |

No, she doesn't have HIPS, you're right. I forgot that Stealth needs her to start and end in concealment. Are there trees or other cover around that allow for her to do that?

DM Carbide |

There isn't a lot of cover, but Cora could stay on the ground and hide behind the fence supports. She wouldn't be able to fly, though.

Machi-e |

Ok, looking through the list of items:
I think that only Rowane counts as a spontaneous caster, correct? That's for the Mnemonic Vestment.
For the Rod of Maximized Spell, I think Cora has the most "does damage" spells where we'd want to maximize dice rolls. Sadly, Machi-e does not!
What Machi-e really needs is reach and improving DC for touch save or suck spells; neither may be available. If I retconned my level up to include Dimensional Slide he could do so, but then he loses increased DC.
Most anyone could benefit from the Ring of Force Shield. I think the +2 Amulet of Natural Armor will also stack with anyone's stuff.
We have a Scroll of Permanency. Protection from Evil or Bull's Strength on Nezos seems to make the most sense (or Fly?)

DM Carbide |

Rowane is a cleric, and not a spontaneous caster. There are few items available in town.

Cora Soutil |

Nia's not normally near melee so she shouldn't need the AC buffs. Do we want to just give Nezos all the AC items to make him a tank? Then permanency Fly on him so opponents can't get away from him no matter what.
Cora can take the Rod, sure, but her main damage output is her bow.

Nezos Parada |

I'm okay with that if others are fine to parting with those items. If we had more knowledge of our enemies (and provided they're weak to what we have), I might advocate for a permanent stat-boosting spell on Machi-e. But we're either in the dark or up against stuff with many immunities.

Machi-e |

As the stat-boost spells aren't in the list for Permanency, that's up to DM Carbide's discretion, but a permanent +4 to Int would be pretty amazing for DC's.

DM Carbide |

Thanks for your patience--my mom passed away on the 8th, and I backed away from most of my games for a while. I thought I'd posted about it here, but had missed this one.

DM Carbide |

It's been a frantic couple of days; I hope to get a post up tomorrow.

Cora Soutil |

Looking for input here- I'm inclined to attack this lady and throw down a rope for the party to climb up. We've been spotted (sorry about that) and my assumption is that everyone here is an enemy.
So, do you guys think Cora should just attack this lady and we climb up here and then go down the tower or should we look for a ground level door?

Machi-e |

if we can kill or incapacitate her before climbing, then yes. Otherwise, ouch for fall damage!

Cora Soutil |

Hi, all! DM Carbide has given me permission to ask if anyone is interested in a new campaign I'm going to be running. I like to reach out to players I already know before I open up to general recruitment.
The campaign will be set in an existing Kingmaker kingdom but the PC party won't be the rulers of the land. Instead, the PCs will be adventurers and problem solvers hired by the NPC rulers to do missions as they come up. The game will deal with content from outside the Kingmaker AP but the setting will be based on a Kingmaker kingdom and near the land of Brevoy.
If you're interested in a new game, the brand new Discussion thread is open to talk about concepts. There's a ton of lore and background on the Obsidian Portal page, too, if you want to take a look at that.
The game is Level 6, 25 point buy.

DM Carbide |

Rowane's player PMd me, and he's having to drop out due to an excess of RL. When I posted the last recruitment, though, there was a player who had been through the first two parts of Dragon's Demand and was interested in the third--I've sent them a PM, and will let you know what I hear.

DM Carbide |

Further update: that player was able to do Part 3 a few months ago. Do any of you know someone who might be interested in playing?

DM Carbide |

Have you heard anything, Machi-e?

Machi-e |

one person was curious as to how much longer we have in the campaign. I think they could commit to a shorter time length.

DM Carbide |

This is the last part of the module--you have the monastery to go through, and then the dragon's lair itself.

DM Carbide |

Thanks to Machi-e, we have a replacement for Rowane. I'm going to retcon the character as having joined you before you came to the monastery.

Gallius Disquero |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

Hey everyone, glad to be helping you finish Part III of Dragon's Demand! I'm finishing up my character and catching up on the adventure so far.
I've looked at Rowane's build and tried to keep at least a few of the spells and choices similar so it doesn't shake up the dynamic too much.
If you have any questions or comments for me, feel free to let me know here or in DMs!

Gallius Disquero |

Good to have you! Cleric of Nethys, eh? I do a weak impression of one.
Funnily enough I was considering taking Fighter for my variant multiclassing.

DM Carbide |

Gallius, let me know when your character is ready to check.

DM Carbide |

I'm still not sure how you're getting those stats from a middle-aged human with a 15-point build. As follows:
STR 10; had to start at 11 to compensate for middle-age penalty; 1 point
DEX 10; same; 1 point
CON 12; started at 13; 3 points
INT 12; started at 11; 1 point
WIS 16; assume +2 racial & L4 stat increase went here; started at 12; 2 points
CHA 13; started at 12; 2 points
Total: 10 points
Even w/o the middle-aged stat changes, it would still be a 10-point build. Could you go over that?
